Heroes Battlegrounds Todoroki Mastery & Halloween Update

The long-awaited Todoroki mastery has finally arrived, and it brings a unique dual-element mechanic alongside multiple move variants. This update also brings back the Halloween event, new cosmetics, and limited emotes. This guide breaks down how to unlock Todoroki Mastery, how his Temperature mechanic works, and all Halloween rewards currently available.

How to Unlock Todoroki Mastery

Todoroki’s Mastery is accessed from the Master icon located at the top-left of your screen.

Steps to Unlock

  1. Open the Mastery tab (top-left).
  2. Choose Split Eyes Mastery.
  3. Select a quest variant (Awakened recommended).
  4. Complete all required Mastery quests to reach 100%.

Time Investment:
Expect a decent grind. If you want to speedrun it by resetting quests with Robux, it costs around 800 Robux on average.

Once completed, you unlock full access to Todoroki’s Mastery kit.

Todoroki Mastery Breakdown

Todoroki’s kit revolves around swapping between Fire and Ice to manage a Temperature bar. Proper usage prevents self-inflicted penalties and unlocks powerful mix-ups.

Temperature Mechanic

• Press G to switch between Fire Mode and Ice Mode.
• Using Fire raises the temperature; using Ice lowers it.
• Hitting max temperature causes a penalty:

Max Temperature State Penalty
Overheat (too much Fire) Burn damage over time
Frozen (too much Ice) Movement slow

Key Rule: Maintain balance. Swap elements before hitting the limit.

All Todoroki Moves and Variants

Todoroki has multiple move variants across Fire, Ice, and Hybrid attacks. Some moves include cinematic finishers.

Fire Variants

Move Description Notes
Inferno Impact Fire strike with burn damage Can affect multiple targets
Flash Tempo Short mobility burst Works like a dash; simple extension tool
Ignition Drive Close-range strike with extension potential Good for follow-up M1 combos
Searing Steps Flame dropkick Has a cinematic finisher

Ice Variants

Move Description Notes
Arctic Flare Ice stomp with crowd control Hybrid effect with freeze
Glacial Clone Leaves an ice clone that freezes targets on contact Great for setups and baiting
Ice Projectile (Unnamed 4th) Ranged ice throw that freezes and creates an ice wall Interaction options after hit
Ice Finisher Freezing finisher Less flashy but provides freeze utility

Finisher Note: Fire Searing Steps includes a cinematic execution, while Ice finishers are more function-based.

Using Todoroki Effectively

• Don’t spam one element; rotate modes to avoid self-penalty.
• Use Ice tools to control space and force opponents into predictable paths.
• Save Fire finishers for guaranteed confirms, not raw uses.
• Ice Clone is best used to set traps or punish chase-downs.

Todoroki rewards players who think ahead rather than just combo-spam.

Halloween Event Returns

Halloween is back with event-limited rewards.

What’s Included

• Candy found through doors around the map
• Candy spent at the Halloween Shop
• 6 new cosmetics
• Limited emotes
• Part 2 of the Halloween event is already confirmed to be coming soon

Collect candy early so you’re prepared for Part 2 when it drops.

New Limited Emotes

Two new premium emotes are available:

Emote Type Cost Summary
Lightsaber Battle Limited Interaction Emote Variable Fun duel-style emote, seems intended for multiple players
Motivated Combo Kill Emote 300 Vergil-themed execution sequence with aura

Motivated Combo is the standout of the update if you’re collecting rare kill animations.
