How to Get Limited Cerebra Rod in Fisch (Valentine Event)

The Cerebra Rod is one of those event rods that looks simple at first — you talk to an NPC, do a quick fetch quest, done — except it actually turns into a two-stage scavenger hunt plus a fishing requirement. And since it’s a limited Valentine’s rod, missing it means it’s gone, not something you can just grind later whenever you feel like it.

So if you want it without wandering across the map aimlessly wondering where those glowing things are hiding, here’s exactly how the process works.

Step 1 — Start the Quest From Nurse May

You begin everything at Sweetheart Shores.

Inside one of the houses there, you’ll find Nurse May. Talk to her and she’ll immediately ask for help finding her missing research vials.

This starts the first objective:

Find 10 glowing pink vials scattered across the world.

They aren’t hidden inside menus or tied to fishing — they’re physical objects you pick up from the environment.

Step 2 — Collect the 10 Vials (The Scavenger Hunt Part)

This is honestly the longest part of the entire process, not because it’s hard, but because it forces you to travel all over the map.

Each vial has a bright pink glow, so spotting them isn’t too difficult once you’re actually in the right area.

The known locations include:

  • Scoria Reach volcano summit
  • Lost Jungle (usually near high points)
  • Castaway Cliffs edge
  • Mushgrove Swamp behind structures
  • Ancient Isle on fallen logs
  • Forsaken Shores shoreline
  • Grand Reef pirate ship
  • Snowcap Island interior spots
  • Terrapin Island cave area

Most major points of interest have exactly one vial.

Once you collect all ten, the game updates your quest progress and sends you back to Nurse May.

But you’re not done yet.

Step 3 — The Second Quest (Mutation Specimen Fishing)

After returning the vials, Nurse May asks for mutated fish samples.

You need to catch:

  • 2 Kissing Gourami
  • 2 Heart Cookies
  • 1 Heart Sand Dollar

These are most commonly found around Sweetheart Shores, which is why the quest sends you back there.

This part is RNG-based, so the time it takes depends entirely on luck. Some players get everything in minutes, while others sit there fishing for a while waiting for the last drop.

Once you collect all five specimens, return to Nurse May again.

Step 4 — Receive the Cerebra Rod

After completing both objectives, Nurse May rewards you with:

The Limited Cerebra Rod

You also receive event chocolates as a bonus.

No currency cost, no crafting — just quest completion.

Cerebra Rod Stats and Performance

This rod is actually surprisingly strong for an event reward.

Base stats:

  • Lure Speed: 200%
  • Luck: 95%
  • Control: 0.2
  • Resilience: 50%
  • Max Weight: 50,000 kg
  • Progress Speed Bonus: +22%

The first thing you notice is how fast it feels. Fish get pulled in quickly, and the progress speed boost makes catches noticeably shorter compared to many standard rods.

Unique Features (Why It Feels Like a Dev Rod)

The Cerebra Rod stands out because it has multiple custom mechanics that normal rods don’t have.

When fishing with it, you’ll notice:

The character holds the rod differently, almost like a syringe-style grip instead of the normal stance. The fishing bar also has a unique visual style, which immediately makes it feel different from standard equipment.

More importantly, the rod has a special effect called Heart Burst.

This is a random chance ability that triggers while reeling in fish. When it activates, it creates a slash-like effect that dramatically boosts catch progress and increases fish value through mutation bonuses.

It doesn’t trigger every catch, so it feels unpredictable, but when it happens, the difference is obvious.

Is the Cerebra Rod Worth Getting?

For a limited event rod, it’s actually very strong.

Its high lure speed and progress bonus make it excellent for fast grinding sessions, while the mutation ability can significantly increase profit from certain catches.

It isn’t necessarily a top-tier endgame rod, but it’s far above most event gear and absolutely worth collecting, especially since it may never return.

Talk to Nurse May at Sweetheart Shores to begin the quest. Collect all ten glowing vials across major islands. Return to her to unlock the second task. Catch two Kissing Gourami, two Heart Cookies, and one Heart Sand Dollar near Sweetheart Shores. Return again to receive the Cerebra Rod.
