This World Zero Leviathan Class Guide breaks the Leviathan class into practical, playable chunks: how to earn it, what every skill does, optimal rotations and play patterns, best stat priorities, gear and synergy suggestions, dungeon behavior, and clear tips to avoid common mistakes. Every section is written so you can jump in and use Leviathan effectively without guessing.
Leviathan is a water-themed mastery that rewards crit-focused play and bubble mechanics. Critical hits spawn bubbles that detonate for AoE damage; several abilities interact with those bubbles to massively amplify burst. The class is survivable thanks to a built-in damage reduction on one ability and has strong area control via its ultimate’s “drench” effect. If you like stacking procs and converting crits into repeated explosion damage, Leviathan fits that playstyle.
How to unlock Leviathan
Switch to the Dragoon class.
While playing Dragoon, you must earn 10,000 kills on level 100+ mobs while in Dragoon’s dragon mode.
Dragon mode is activated by chaining the Dragoon combo (use E, then chain R, then F). Dragon mode lasts roughly 7 seconds — kills during that time count toward the unlock.
Practically, the fastest grind route is repeating higher-level content where you can reliably land many kills while in dragon mode (infinite tower, farming levels with dense spawns, or repeatable events).
Ability breakdown (what each skill actually does)
Auto-attack (Primary)
Standard attack that contributes to your DPS rhythm.
Every crit from any ability spawns a bubble. Bubbles sit on enemies or ground and detonate after a short time, dealing AoE damage. Bubbles stack, so rapid crits create multiple timed explosions.
E — Water Cyclone (range / auto-target)
Long-range autotarget ability that fires a swirling projectile and leaves a trail of bubbles on the ground.
Useful for creating bubble fields to trap enemies or to set up combo interactions. Good for ranged pressure and clearing mobs from a distance.
R — Hydro Surge (dash / bubble pop interaction)
A short dash that pops bubbles when targeted properly. Popping bubbles with R spawns dragon projectiles that deal damage and can create additional bubbles.
Low cooldown (about 3 seconds), so it’s ideal for repeatedly detonating clusters of bubbles to amplify burst. Requires some aim and positioning to connect with bubble placement.
F — Maelstrom Spin (AoE + defensive buff)
Whirling AoE damage with a 30% damage reduction applied to you while it’s active.
If it crits it also spawns a bubble on you — that personal bubble will detonate for damage when it expires, so F contributes both defense and conditional extra damage.
Cooldown is moderately short; it’s the sustain/defense tool that pairs with bubble stacking.
Ultimate — Drench (long-range AoE with DoT / crowd effect)
Charges by killing enemies and using normal combos. When used, you lunge forward in a large cone/tunnel applying drench, which deals damage over time and appears to stun or heavily debuff affected enemies.
The ultimate is a large-area, forward-moving attack — powerful for wiping groups and applying consistent DoT; it also synergizes with bubble pop timing.
Core play pattern and rotation
Leviathan thrives on creating bubbles (via crits), placing them in predictable locations, and popping them with R and/or ultimate to multiply damage.
Example rotation (general PvE):
- Start with E (Water Cyclone) at range to plant bubble trails on approaching mobs.
- Use F for AoE damage and the 30% damage reduction (this protects you while you set up bubbles). If F crits, you get another bubble on yourself.
- Chain R to dash into a bubble cluster and pop them; this spawns dragon projectiles and massive burst. Repeat R off cooldown to keep detonating bubbles.
- Use Auto-attacks while waiting for R cooldown to generate crits and more bubbles.
- When a large pack is clumped or you need a push, use Ultimate to drench and apply DoT, then pop remaining bubbles for follow-up burst.
Notes:
- The combo E → R → F is the intended flow and will maximize bubble creation and popping synergy.
- Prioritize popping bubbles with R when possible because it creates additional projectile damage and scales well with stacked bubbles.
- Keep F active as often as its cooldown allows for the damage reduction and consistent damage-over-time value.
Stat priorities and build suggestions
Leviathan scales heavily with crit due to bubble generation. Secondary stats should support survivability and skill effectiveness.
Crit Rate / Crit Damage — Primary. More crits = more bubbles = more AoE explosions. Aim to maximize crit rate first, then crit damage.
Attack / Weapon Damage — Secondary. Boosts baseline damage and bubble damage.
Life / Flat HP or Life Steal — Tertiary. Useful in dungeons where you’ll be in melee range often; F already provides damage reduction, but extra sustain is helpful.
Cooldown Reduction / Ability Haste — Helpful so R and F can be used more frequently to pop bubbles and keep the defensive buff up.
Penetration / Armor Shred — If enemies have high resistances, penetration can help bubble damage cut through.
Recommended sample builds:
Crit Burst (PvE/Mob Clear): Max Crit Rate, high Crit Damage, moderate Attack. Use a fast weapon with high crit modifiers.
Balanced Dungeon Build: Crit Rate + Life + Cooldown Reduction — a safer route for high-HP bosses.
Zero Weapon / High-Value Weapon: If you have a top-tier weapon (Zero-like), pairing it with crit focused build yields huge bubble numbers; the class benefits strongly from high-tier weapons.
Gear, pets, and shard recommendations
Weapon: Favor high crit/crit damage weapons with decent attack. Fast weapons help generate crits faster.
Armor / Accessories: Anything that boosts crit chance, crit damage, or reduces skill cooldowns. Also prioritize items that enhance AoE or shadow/elemental synergy if available.
Pet: Choose pets that add crit rate, attack speed, or sustain (life on hit) to keep bubbles rolling and survivability up.
Enchants: Crit-centric enchants, cooldown reduction, and any that increase ability damage or DoT potency are valuable.
Dungeon & boss behavior — practical tips
Positioning matters. Bubbles can get stuck on terrain; plan bubble placement so R/ultimate can reliably pop them. This class is stronger in open areas where bubble placement and dragon projectiles hit cleanly.
Use F defensively. The 30% damage reduction is a major survivability tool; use it preemptively when a boss is about to use big attacks.
Bubbles have imperfect hitboxes. Expect some inconsistencies: bubbles may not detonate at ideal positions due to slopes, obstacles, or hitbox quirks. Aim to place bubbles on flat ground or directly on enemies when possible.
Ultimate is best for clumped mobs or as a gap-closer. It stuns/debuffs and spreads DoT, making it ideal to follow up with bubble detonations.
Crowd control synergy. If teammates can freeze/stun groups, you can stack bubbles safely and pop them for huge burst windows.
Common issues and how to mitigate them
Bubbles not detonating or missing targets: reposition so bubbles are placed on flat surfaces; practice aiming R to pop them reliably.
Targeting feels off for R or ultimate: use manual aim (turning slightly) to line up dashes; avoid overlapping terrain obstacles.
Perceived delay on dragon projectiles or bubble damage: this may be latency or animation timing — factor a small delay between popping and follow-up inputs.
Survivability in long boss fights: rely on F’s 30% damage reduction, take life-boosting armor, and bring pets/consumables for sustain.
