The new Eminence in Shadow update in Lineage Piece is honestly one of the coolest updates the game has had in a while. The new CID weapon and Atomic moves look insanely smooth, and the whole quest line is actually pretty fun once you know what you are supposed to do. In this guide, I’m going over the full unlock process step by step so you do not get confused while grinding for it.
How to Start the CID Quest Line
Before you can even start working toward Shadow and Atomic, you first need to get the Stylish Bandit Beater.
The NPC for this is located on Starter Island. Once you talk to him, you will begin a short quest line. It is pretty easy overall, but it is required if you want to continue into the new update content.
Find the Two Crowbars
The first part of the quest is collecting two crowbars on Starter Island.
You just need to search around the island and pick both of them up. Once you have both crowbars, you can move to the next step immediately.
Take 5 Million Damage
This is probably the weirdest part of the quest line, but thankfully there is a fast way to finish it.
The best method is going to Scorched Ruins and crafting a Trial Key. After that, start a trial and pick Nightmare difficulty.
Now just let the mobs attack you.
If you want to complete it even faster, you can purposely lose against the Wave 2 or Wave 3 boss instead of trying to survive the entire run. Doing this speeds the grind up a lot.
Once you finally reach the 5 million damage requirement, you unlock the ability to purchase the Stylish Bandit Beater.
Shadow Quest Line
Now equip the Stylish Bandit Beater because you need it for the next part.
Head over to Frost Island and find the Shadow Seller NPC.
This is where the real grind begins.
Kill 250 Mobs
The first Shadow quest requires you to defeat 250 mobs using the Stylish Bandit Beater.
It takes a little while, but honestly it is not too bad if you farm in a decent area with fast respawns.
Just make sure you are actually using the Stylish Bandit Beater for the kills or the quest will not count properly.
Complete the SID Raid
The final requirement is completing the SID Raid five times on Medium difficulty or higher.
After finishing the Stylish Bandit quest line, SID Keys can start dropping for you. These keys let you teleport directly into the new dungeon.
The dungeon itself has 10 waves total and includes two bosses:
- Alpha
- SID
You will need to clear the raid multiple times, so get ready for a bit of farming.
SID Boss Drops
The SID boss also drops important materials needed for unlocking Shadow.
So while you are grinding the raid clears, you should also keep an eye out for the required drops because you need them later when purchasing the ability.
Unlocking Atomic
Once you finish all the requirements, head back to the Seller NPC and purchase the new power.
The requirements are shown directly in-game when talking to the NPC, so make sure you have everything before trying to buy it.
After unlocking it, you can finally use Atomic.
And honestly, the effects are crazy.
How to Unlock the R Move
To unlock the mastery R move, go to the mastery NPC shown during the update progression.
That NPC gives another set of requirements you need to complete before unlocking the extra move.
So even after getting Atomic, there is still a little more progression left if you want the full moveset.
CID KAGENOU Showcase Thoughts
The moveset looks incredibly smooth, especially the visual effects during combat. Everything feels flashy without looking messy, and the animations honestly fit the Eminence in Shadow theme really well.
The Eminence race buffs are also pretty solid and make the whole build feel even stronger during fights.
Damage-wise, the weapon performs really well too. It definitely feels like one of the stronger additions added recently.
Overall, this is a really solid update for Lineage Piece. The grind is not too complicated once you understand the steps, and the rewards honestly feel worth the effort.
The CID KAGENOU weapon and Atomic abilities look amazing, the effects are clean, and the entire update feels polished compared to a lot of older content.
If you are planning to grind this update, just focus on getting the Stylish Bandit Beater first because everything else starts from there.
