Black Reaper has quickly become one of the most talked-about additions in the latest Sailor Piece update. The new melee style comes with massive damage, long-range attacks, an unlockable F move, and a full mastery questline that rewards an extra 30% damage boost once completed.
The grind is long, though. Players need to unlock Isolation Island, farm the Black Reaper boss repeatedly, gather rare materials, complete mastery quests, and finally unlock the melee’s strongest skill.
Here is the complete Black Reaper progression route, including how to get the melee, unlock the F move, and level mastery fast.
Sailor Piece Black Reaper Guide – How to Unlock, and Boss
To unlock Black Reaper, players must first travel to Isolation Island and locate the Black Reaper NPC.
NPC Location
The NPC is attached to one of the walls on Isolation Island instead of standing in an open area, making it surprisingly easy to miss while exploring.
Once you find the NPC, you can exchange materials to purchase the melee style.
Requirements
To obtain Black Reaper, you need:
- One-Eyed King Title
- 20 Black Shards
- 12 Reaper Remnants
- 5 Rinkaku Cores
- 2 Ghoul Essences
All of these materials are connected to the Black Reaper boss progression route.
Isolation Island
Before any of this becomes available, players must first unlock Isolation Island through the Blood Flower Quest.
Blood Flower Quest
You must collect:
- 6 Blood Flowers hidden around C2
After collecting them all, the new island unlocks permanently.
Reaper Key Farming
To summon the Black Reaper boss, players need Reaper Keys.
How to Get Reaper Keys
Reaper Keys drop from NPC enemies located around Isolation Island.
Most players farm enemies near:
- Bridges
- Walkways
- Arena sections
- Central island pathways
The drop chance is currently very low, so farming keys in bulk before boss grinding is highly recommended.
Black Reaper Boss
Once you have enough keys, summon the Black Reaper boss repeatedly to collect materials and progression items.
Recommended Strategy
The smartest route is:
- Farm large amounts of Reaper Keys first
- Begin boss farming afterward
- Avoid constantly returning to key farming between summons
This saves a huge amount of time overall.
One-Eyed King Title
The One-Eyed King Title is required for purchasing Black Reaper.
Fortunately, it also drops from the same boss progression route, meaning you can farm all required materials simultaneously.
Black Reaper F Move
After unlocking the melee, players still need to complete another progression route to unlock the F skill.
Reaper Master NPC
Speak to the Reaper Master NPC on Isolation Island to begin the mastery questline.
This unlock chain contains multiple quests.
Quest One
The first mastery quest requires players to:
- Defeat 25 Black Reaper bosses on Medium difficulty
Key Cost
This step requires roughly:
- 50 Reaper Keys total
Because of this, farming a large stockpile of keys beforehand is extremely important.
Quest Two
The second mastery quest requires players to obtain the Ghoul Bloodline.
Ghoul Bloodline Unlock
To complete this step:
- Open settings
- Check bloodline reroll setup
- Use Bloodline Stones
- Continue rerolling until Ghoul Bloodline appears
This part depends mostly on luck and resource saving.
Quest Three
The final mastery quest requires:
- Black Reaper Mastery Level 150
This is the most time-consuming part of the entire progression system.
Fastest Mastery Farm
Currently, the fastest known mastery leveling method uses Starter Island enemy farming.
Quake Method
The most efficient strategy is:
- Go to Starter Island
- Stand between enemy groups
- Use Quake Sea abilities
- Quickly switch to Black Reaper
- Let kills count toward Black Reaper mastery
This method massively speeds up mastery gain compared to normal combat.
Raid Farming
If you prefer active gameplay instead of stationary farming, raids are another strong option.
Minotaur Farming
One Minotaur kill reportedly counts as:
- 100 kills toward mastery progress
This makes raids one of the best active mastery methods currently available.
F Move Rewards
Completing the mastery questline unlocks:
- Black Reaper F Move
- +30% Black Reaper damage bonus
The extra damage boost alone makes the grind worthwhile for late-game players.
Black Reaper Skills
The melee focuses on sustained damage, large AoE attacks, and heavy burst abilities with slower casting animations.
Z Skill
The first move hits enemies repeatedly over time.
Strengths
- Very consistent damage
- Strong farming potential
- Good boss pressure
- Reliable mid-range attacks
Estimated total damage:
- Around 85 billion
X Skill
The second skill is a cleaner burst-style attack with solid cooldown efficiency.
Estimated damage:
- Around 220 billion
C Skill
The third skill delivers stronger burst damage but has a longer cooldown.
Estimated damage:
- Around 350 billion
The X and C combo together forms one of the melee’s strongest consistent damage chains.
V Skill
The V move delivers multiple hits and very high total damage.
Estimated total damage:
- Around 700 billion
Weakness
The major downside is the extremely long startup animation, which can make the skill risky during mobile fights.
F Skill
The final F move is Black Reaper’s strongest attack.
Estimated damage:
- Around 1 trillion
Strengths
- Huge AoE range
- Massive burst potential
- Highest damage in the kit
Weakness
Like the V move, the cast time is very long.
Still, the overall damage makes it one of the strongest abilities currently available in the game.
Final Thoughts
Black Reaper is easily one of the biggest late-game grinds added to Sailor Piece so far. Between Blood Flower progression, Reaper Key farming, boss grinding, Ghoul Bloodline rerolls, and mastery leveling, the unlock process can take a very long time.
However, the reward is a melee style with extremely high damage, powerful AoE attacks, and one of the strongest endgame kits currently available in the game.
