Instead of repeatedly clicking, simply hold your mouse button or tap and hold your screen while collecting water.
The game will continue filling your bucket automatically, making the process much smoother and reducing unnecessary clicking throughout the run.
It’s a simple habit that makes long farming sessions much more comfortable.
Prioritize Token Income First
Your first upgrades are the most important.
Rather than buying random upgrades, focus on increasing your Token Income as early as possible.
Higher token earnings mean every trip becomes more rewarding, allowing you to purchase future upgrades much faster.
Think of it as investing early so the rest of the game becomes easier.
Upgrade Your Bucket Before Expensive Items
After improving your token income, start upgrading your Bucket.
A larger bucket lets you carry more water every trip, reducing the number of times you need to travel back and forth.
One important tip is to buy the cheaper Bucket upgrades first. They usually offer the best value early in the game, while expensive upgrades can wait until you’ve built a steady income.
Don’t Ignore Hidden Treasure
As the lake gets deeper, you’ll occasionally discover hidden treasure.
Always take a moment to collect it.
Treasure rewards can provide valuable resources, including Diamonds, which can later be spent on better buckets and other useful purchases in the lobby.
Skipping treasure means missing out on free progression.
Keep Investing in Token Income and Bucket Upgrades
As more upgrades become available, continue focusing on two categories:
- Token Income
- Bucket Capacity
Try to maximize these before spending heavily elsewhere.
These upgrades directly improve your farming speed and are the biggest reason experienced players progress much faster than beginners.
Use Checkpoints to Save Time
As you drain more of the lake, you’ll unlock new checkpoints.
These checkpoints reduce the distance between the lake and the token delivery area, meaning each trip takes much less time.
Instead of walking all the way back to the starting area, you’ll deliver tokens much closer to where you’re working.
This naturally speeds up your farming without requiring any extra effort.
Don’t Rush Character Upgrades
A common beginner mistake is spending lots of tokens on character upgrades too early.
In reality, these upgrades don’t provide nearly as much value during the early game.
As the lake becomes deeper, the working area also becomes smaller, so movement upgrades aren’t nearly as impactful as increasing your earnings.

After Quick Drain is finished, start upgrading Diamond Rewards.
This upgrade isn’t as essential as your economy upgrades, but the extra Diamonds are still useful for purchasing better equipment and unlocking additional progression outside the current run.
Treat this as a bonus rather than a priority.
Finish Character Upgrades Last
Only after you’ve upgraded:
- Token Income
- Bucket
- Quick Drain
- Diamond Rewards
should you begin fully upgrading your character.
By this stage, you’ll already be earning plenty of tokens, making the remaining upgrades much easier to purchase.
Reach the Final Checkpoint
The game contains multiple checkpoints, with the seventh checkpoint being the final one.
Once you reach this area, you’ll notice buildings appearing nearby. That’s a good sign you’re almost finished.
Continue draining the remaining water until you discover your lost phone, which appears as a shimmering object underwater.
Interact with it to complete the objective and finish the game.
Best Upgrade Order
If you simply want the fastest progression possible, follow this order:
- Token Income
- Bucket Upgrades
- Continue maxing Token Income and Bucket
- Quick Drain
- Diamond Rewards
- Character Upgrades
Following this path gives you the fastest overall progression while minimizing unnecessary grinding.
Drain the Lake rewards smart upgrade choices more than anything else.
