Choosing the right class in 100 Days at Sea can make a huge difference, especially once enemies become stronger and raid nights start getting more intense. While every class provides some kind of bonus, not all of them are worth spending your Pearls on.
Some classes are designed to dominate combat, while others focus on exploration, looting, or supporting teammates. If you’re saving up Pearls and wondering which class deserves your investment first, this tier list should help.
Ranking Factors: Damage, survivability, utility, progression speed, solo performance, and overall value.
S-Tier – Best Classes
These are the strongest classes currently available and are worth saving your Pearls for.
Fire Mage
If your goal is dealing as much damage as possible, Fire Mage is the best choice.
Its massive Magic Damage bonuses allow it to melt enemies before they become a threat. Although it lacks mobility and defensive abilities, the incredible damage output usually makes those weaknesses irrelevant.
Pros
- Highest damage in the game.
- Excellent for solo players.
- Scales extremely well with upgrades.
Cons
- Costs 750 Pearls.
- Offers little utility outside of combat.
Ice Mage
Ice Mage is essentially the alternative to Fire Mage.
While it sacrifices a bit of damage, it gains additional sprint speed, making movement around the map much easier.
If you prefer slightly better mobility without giving up powerful magic attacks, Ice Mage is an excellent pick.
Ancient Squid
Ancient Squid is one of the most balanced classes available.
Its Laser Gun deals incredible damage once upgraded, while extra health and sprint speed help you survive difficult encounters.
Although it requires significant investment before reaching its full potential, it’s one of the strongest endgame classes.
Alien Overlord
Alien Overlord shines thanks to its unique UFO.
The flying vehicle makes exploring islands faster than any other class, while the Ray Gun provides strong ranged damage throughout the game.
Hero
Hero is the strongest melee-focused class.
The Holy Sword deals heavy damage, while increased health and healing on melee kills make it extremely durable during the early and mid game.
It loses some effectiveness later when ranged builds become more dominant, but it’s still one of the best overall classes.
A-Tier – Excellent Choices
These classes are extremely strong and can comfortably carry you through the game.
Knight
Knight is arguably the best defensive class.
Heavy armor, health bonuses, melee damage, and self-healing make it difficult to kill, especially during raid nights.
Alien Warrior
If you enjoy melee combat, Alien Warrior is another excellent option.
It combines high melee damage with extra health and damage reduction, making it much tougher than most offensive classes.
Pirate
Pirate specializes in firearms.
The Blunderbuss deals impressive damage, and additional boat speed makes exploration noticeably faster.
Ammo management is its biggest weakness early on.
Sharpshooter
Sharpshooter is perfect for players who enjoy ranged combat.
Fast reload speed and large gun damage bonuses allow it to eliminate enemies safely from a distance.
Battle Bunny
Battle Bunny is the mobility king.
Double Jump, Triple Jump, sprint bonuses, and explosive Egg Grenades make it one of the most fun classes to play.
It has a high skill ceiling but rewards experienced players.
Raider
Raider is one of the best sustained ranged damage classes.
Its Dual Pistols continuously gain ammunition through kills, allowing experienced players to fight for long periods without worrying about running out of ammo.
B-Tier – Strong Budget Picks
These classes perform well and offer good value for their Pearl cost.
Treasure Hunter
Perfect for players who enjoy farming.
Extra sack slots and additional Doubloons make collecting resources much easier.
It lacks combat bonuses, making it better for multiplayer than solo play.
Millionaire
Millionaire combines exploration with survivability.
Its Luxury Yacht and health bonuses make exploring safer while also improving your economy.
Swordsman
An excellent beginner melee class.
High melee damage and inexpensive cost make it one of the best early purchases before unlocking stronger classes.
Olympian
Olympian focuses on movement.
Extra sprint speed, Double Jump, and additional health remain useful throughout every stage of the game.
Soldier
Soldier offers solid ranged combat while also providing Military Armor for better survivability.
It’s a reliable all-around class without excelling in any single category.
Cowboy
Cowboy provides strong Revolver damage and health bonuses.
The only downside is limited ammunition, which can become a problem during longer fights.
C-Tier – Situational Classes
These classes aren’t bad, but they depend heavily on your playstyle or teammates.
Zookeeper
Excellent if you’ve already collected powerful companions.
Without strong companions, however, most of its bonuses go to waste.
Builderman
Builderman is useful in multiplayer games where one player focuses entirely on crafting and base construction.
For solo players, it’s much less valuable.
Chef
Chef offers reliable healing and food production.
It’s a great support class but lacks offensive abilities.
Merchant
Merchant helps you earn extra Doubloons and shop discounts.
Good for progression, but not particularly exciting during combat.
Battle Buku
Battle Buku combines melee damage with shop discounts and improved food drops.
It performs reasonably well but gets outclassed once stronger melee classes become available.
Harpooner
A decent early ranged class.
Unfortunately, the Riptide weapon isn’t as effective as firearms or magic, limiting its usefulness.
Adventurer
Adventurer is great during the first few days thanks to extra inventory space and bonus chest rewards.
Its usefulness drops significantly once you’ve unlocked better classes.
Crewmate
Crewmate is one of the cheapest ranged classes.
While it won’t carry you into the late game, it’s an excellent budget option for new players.
D-Tier – Replace These When Possible
These classes aren’t completely useless, but you’ll usually want to upgrade as soon as you can.
Medic
Medic is designed for healing.
Outside of multiplayer support, it doesn’t contribute much to combat or exploration.
Sailor
Boat speed is helpful for traveling, but that’s about it.
Most players will quickly outgrow this class.
Camper
Camper offers small health and regeneration bonuses.
They’re useful during the first few days but become almost irrelevant later.
Survivor
Survivor is generally considered the weakest class.
It helps reduce hunger and improve health regeneration early on, but nearly every other class offers stronger bonuses.
Replace it as soon as you have enough Pearls.
Best Classes for Beginners
If you’re just starting and don’t have many Pearls, these classes offer the best value:
- Swordsman – Best early melee option.
- Olympian – Great mobility and survivability.
- Soldier – Reliable ranged combat.
- Crewmate – Excellent budget firearm class.
- Builderman – Great if you’re playing with friends.
How to Unlock New Classes
New classes can be purchased from the Class Shop, located on the left side of the game’s lobby.
Classes cost Pearls, which can be earned by:
- Surviving more days.
- Completing quests.
- Unlocking achievements and badges.
- Redeeming active game codes.
- Purchasing Pearls with Robux.
The strongest classes generally cost between 600 and 750 Pearls, while beginner-friendly options are available for much less.
If you only plan to save for one class, Fire Mage remains the strongest overall choice thanks to its unmatched damage output. Ice Mage, Ancient Squid, Alien Overlord, and Hero are also excellent investments if they better suit your preferred playstyle. For newer players who haven’t accumulated many Pearls yet, Swordsman, Olympian, and Soldier provide excellent performance without requiring a huge investment, making them ideal stepping stones toward the game’s top-tier classes.
