All Star Tower Defense (ASTD) Okra (Turbo) Guide

In this post, I’m going to take a look at Okra (Turbo), also known as Okarun Turbo, in All Star Tower Defense. This is one of the harder units to obtain because you need to complete a Memory Raid and get the required Memory Ball.

I’ll go through his stats, placement count, upgrades, attack animations, AoE changes, and overall performance so you can see what you’re actually getting from him.

After testing the unit, though, I don’t think he’s worth the amount of work required to obtain him. He has decent damage and a blessing, but there are some major problems that make him feel like a skip.

All Star Tower Defense (ASTD) Okra (Turbo) Guide

Okra (Turbo) is not an easy unit to obtain.

To get him, you first need the Memory Orb/Memory Ball, which comes from completing the Memory Raid. This is one of the more difficult raids in the game, and getting the drop can take quite a while.

The video also mentions Ball Breaker and its low drop rate, so you may need to run the raid many times before getting what you need.

You also need five Okarans to get Okra (Turbo), which means you’ll need a decent number of Gems as well.

So before going after this unit, keep in mind that you’re committing to both the Memory Raid grind and the resources needed to obtain the five Okarans.

Okra (Turbo) Stats

At Level 1, Okra (Turbo) has the following stats:

  • Placement Cost: 750
  • Damage: 4.2K
  • Attack Speed: 3 seconds
  • Range: 60
  • Type: Ground
  • Enchant: Fire
  • Blessing: Yes

He also has six categories:

  • Corrupted
  • Deprived Demons
  • Raging Power
  • Speedster
  • Youth
  • Time Limit

Okra also comes with a Leader Skill that gives units in the Speedster category a +50% Attack boost.

That leader skill is one of the more interesting parts of the unit, especially if you’re already building around Speedster units.

Okra (Turbo) Placement and First Attack

When I first place Okra (Turbo), he has 8 placements.

His attack speed is actually pretty good early on, but his starting AoE is where things get disappointing.

He starts with a very narrow cone AoE, which makes it harder to cover multiple enemies effectively.

His attack animation has him dashing through enemies with a slash attack. It looks pretty cool, but the actual coverage isn’t great at this stage.

For a unit that takes this much effort to obtain, I was expecting the early attacks to be a little more impressive.

Turbo Tornado Upgrade

The first major upgrade gives Okra several stat increases.

The upgrades include:

  • +1.25K damage
  • +2.5K damage
  • +5K damage
  • Attack speed improved to 6
  • +10 range
  • Range increased to 70
  • Turbo Tornado ability/attack

The biggest change here is the AoE.

Okra goes from his narrow cone to a 4-AoE attack, which is a noticeable improvement.

His attack animation also changes, with Okra spinning around as he attacks. This looks much better than the starting slash and gives the unit a more interesting attack.

Another Animation Change

One thing I noticed while upgrading Okra is that his animation can change without the game clearly telling you that it’s happening.

At another upgrade, instead of continuing with the spinning attack, Okra changes to a different animation.

He dashes forward and throws an X-shaped attack.

This was actually a pretty cool surprise because the game doesn’t necessarily make the animation change obvious. If you play with animations turned off, you might not even notice that the attack has changed.

Turbo Cutter Upgrade

The next upgrades give Okra even more damage and range.

The listed increases include:

  • +10.5K damage
  • +12K damage
  • +12K damage
  • +45K damage
  • Attack speed reduced to 5 seconds
  • Range increased to 100
  • Turbo Cutter

Turbo Cutter changes his attack into an AoE circle.

The circle is fairly large, so his coverage is definitely better than the original narrow cone.

However, I wouldn’t call the AoE particularly impressive compared with some of the larger AoE circles already available in the game. It’s usable, but considering how difficult Okra is to obtain, I expected more.

Final Upgrade

The final upgrade gives Okra a massive +1.63 million damage increase.

That’s obviously a huge jump in raw damage, but this is also where my overall opinion of the unit becomes more negative.

Yes, the damage is good, but the problem is everything you have to do to reach this point.

You’re dealing with a difficult Memory Raid, a low drop rate, multiple Okarans, and a significant Gem requirement just to obtain the unit.

For that amount of investment, I don’t think the final damage is enough to make Okra feel like a must-have unit.

Is Okra (Turbo) Worth Getting?

Honestly, I would skip Okra (Turbo).

The unit isn’t completely useless. It has good damage, a decent leader skill, and a blessing, so there are some reasons you might want to add it to your collection.

But when I look at the entire process required to get him, the unit feels more like a bait character than something you should spend all your resources chasing.

The Memory Raid itself is annoying to farm, and you may have to complete it many times before getting the required drop. On top of that, you need five Okarans and enough Gems to put everything together.

If you’re specifically collecting units, then sure, Okra can be worth working toward. But if you’re looking for the best way to spend your time and resources, I wouldn’t make him a priority.

Okra (Turbo) has some good numbers, but I don’t think those numbers justify the grind.

The 4.2K starting damage, multiple placements, Speedster leader skill, blessing, and eventual million-plus damage are all nice. However, you’re going through a difficult raid with a low drop chance and then still need five Okarans and additional Gems to finish the process.

So if you’re asking me whether you should go out of your way to get Okra (Turbo), my answer is no. I’d consider him a hard skip unless you’re collecting units, specifically want his blessing, or simply want to have the character in your roster.

For the amount of work required, I would save your time and resources for a stronger unit.
