Fisch Living Garden Bestiary Guide – How to Complete

The Living Garden Bestiary is one of the main requirements for progressing through the Lost Jungle update in Fisch. Completing it unlocks important content, including access to certain rods and progression in later areas.

The area introduces unique mechanics like flowers, seeds, and guardian hunts, so understanding how everything works will save you a lot of time.

Step 1 – Unlock the Living Garden Area

Before you can complete the Bestiary, you first need to reach the Living Garden.

To unlock it:

  1. Go to the Toxic Grove area.
  2. Wait for a Toxic Boil event to appear.
  3. Fish inside the boil and catch a Venom Maw.
  4. Bring the Venom Maw to Olivia.

After turning it in, Olivia will reward you with a raft capable of surviving toxic waters.

Use this raft and travel across the toxic river. This will take you directly to the Living Garden biome.

Step 2 – Open Flowers to Collect Seeds

Once you arrive in the Living Garden, you will notice many closed flowers around the area.

You can interact with these flowers to open them.

Opening flowers can give you four different seeds:

  • Living Seed
  • Cyan Seed
  • Canary Seed
  • Violet Seed

These seeds are used for certain quests and planting mechanics in the garden.

Sometimes you will open several flowers without getting a rare seed, so it may take a few attempts.

Resetting Flowers with Bloom Totems

After opening all the flowers, they will stay closed for a while.

To reset them instantly, you can use a Bloom Totem.

A Bloom Totem forces all flowers in the area to bloom again immediately, allowing you to collect more seeds without waiting.

You can obtain Bloom Totems by completing quests from NPCs in the Living Garden area.

Step 3 – Place Crab Cages

Before focusing completely on fishing, it is recommended to place Crab Cages in the water.

Some of the Bestiary entries can only be obtained through crab cages rather than normal fishing.

By placing cages early, you allow them to passively collect catches while you fish for the other species.

This saves time later when trying to finish the Bestiary.

Step 4 – Catch All Standard Fish

Most fish in the Living Garden can be caught through normal fishing in the water.

To speed up the process:

  • Use rods with high luck stats
  • Activate Aurora Totems
  • Use Luck Potions

These boosts increase your chances of catching the rarer fish needed for the Bestiary.

You will likely spend most of your time fishing here while waiting for the special event fish.

Step 5 – Wait for the Exotic Spawn

One of the required Bestiary entries is an exotic fish spawn that appears randomly in the area.

This event does not happen frequently, so you may need to continue fishing and opening flowers while waiting.

Eventually the exotic spawn will appear and you can catch the fish required for the Bestiary entry.

Step 6 – Catch the Flower Guardian

The final major entry in the Living Garden Bestiary is the Flower Guardian.

This creature spawns after interacting with flowers many times.

Once the guardian appears:

  1. Locate the guardian in the water area.
  2. Cast your rod immediately.
  3. Catch it before it disappears.

Successfully catching the Flower Guardian usually completes the final entry in the Bestiary.

A few strategies can make the process much easier.

Start by opening flowers regularly to collect seeds and increase the chance of spawning the Flower Guardian.

Place crab cages early so you can collect passive catches while fishing normally.

Use luck boosts and Aurora effects when fishing to increase the chances of getting rare fish.

Finally, stay patient while waiting for the exotic spawn, since that entry may take the longest.

The Living Garden Bestiary combines several mechanics that make it different from normal fishing areas in Fisch. Between flower interactions, seed collection, hunt events, and crab cages, there are multiple ways to progress toward completion.

Once everything is finished and the Flower Guardian is caught, the Bestiary will be complete and you can move on to unlocking some of the update’s strongest rods and features.
