The Midnight Matsuri event in Car Dealership Tycoon introduced a brand-new licensed Mazda RX-8, and the best part is that you can unlock it completely for free. Unlike many limited cars that cost millions of in-game cash, this one only requires completing a few simple event challenges.
If you follow the fastest methods for each task, you can unlock the RX-8 fairly quickly without spending hours grinding.
What Makes the Mazda RX-8 Special
This RX-8 is part of the event rewards and is different from the other limited car in the update. While another RX-8 drift variant can be purchased for 6 million cash, this one is unlocked entirely through gameplay.
Once you complete all the event objectives, you can claim the car instantly from the event menu.
Task 1 – Play the Game for 30 Minutes
The first challenge is extremely simple.
You just need to play the game for a total of 30 minutes. You can drive, race, manage your dealership, or simply explore the map while the timer progresses.
After finishing this task, you’ll receive a Deluxe Kit as a small bonus reward.
There’s no trick here—just stay in the game until the timer completes.
Task 2 – Complete 5 Drag Races
The second objective requires you to finish five drag races.
To complete this quickly:
- Open the Race Menu
- Teleport to the Drag Race location
- Choose the 1/8 mile drag race
The 1/8 mile track is the shortest option available, so races end much faster. Simply repeat it five times to finish the challenge.
After completing the drag races, you unlock a cosmetic reward called the C005 Rims, which can be used on your vehicles.
Task 3 – Complete 20 Laps in Any Race
This task sounds longer than it actually is. The goal is to finish 20 total laps in races.
The fastest method is using the Oval Circuit race.
Here’s the trick:
- Open the Race Menu
- Teleport to the Circuit Race
- Select the Oval track
- Choose 10 laps
Complete the race once for 10 laps, then run it again. Two races will complete the requirement.
Once finished, you unlock the JDM Spoiler reward. Along with this, you also receive a Nissan GTR poster decoration that can be placed inside your dealership.
Task 4 – Deliver 5 Dealership Cars
The final objective is related to your dealership.
You need to deliver five customer cars. This involves completing customer orders and transporting their vehicles.
Here’s how it works:
- Go to your dealership
- Wait for an NPC customer to enter
- Talk to them and check their budget and car preferences
- Select a car that matches their request
- Customize it according to the specifications
- Sell the vehicle
After selling it, press the delivery button to spawn a tow truck.
Attach the car to the truck and follow the marker to deliver it to the destination. Each successful delivery counts toward the event objective.
Repeat this process five times to complete the final task.
Claiming the Mazda RX-8
After completing all four event tasks, open the event menu and click Claim.
You’ll instantly unlock the Mazda RX-8 in your garage.
This version of the RX-8 is a clean base model, and you can upgrade it with performance parts like:
- Race Engine
- Race Supercharger
- Race Brakes
- Race Suspension
Once upgraded, you can also customize the paint, rims, and stance to match your preferred style.
Bonus Reward for Completing the Event Twice
Interestingly, the event also includes a bonus reward if you complete it a second time.
The extra reward is a Midnight Gate decoration, inspired by Japanese architecture. You can place it outside your dealership as a cosmetic structure.
Players who enjoy building themed dealerships or JDM-style garages will probably like this decoration.
Mazda RX-8 Performance
While the RX-8 looks great and fits perfectly with JDM builds, its performance has some issues.
Even with maximum upgrades, the acceleration feels slower than expected, and the gearbox behavior can be inconsistent. Sometimes the car remains in higher gears even at lower speeds, which affects how quickly it accelerates.
Despite that, it’s still a solid event vehicle and a great addition to your collection, especially considering it costs nothing to unlock.
