Anime Tactical Simulator recently dropped a major Jujutsu Kaisen update, introducing new systems, mechanics, and one of the most wanted tactical units in the game: Sukuna, the King of Curses. As expected, Sukuna isn’t something you can unlock instantly. The process involves raids, special keys, and a bit of luck.
If you’re trying to obtain Sukuna for your team, this guide walks through the full process—from unlocking the update island to entering the boss dimension where Sukuna actually drops.
Unlocking the New Update Island
The first step after joining the update is unlocking the new island introduced with the Jujutsu Kaisen content.
Once you purchase the island, several new features become available, including:
- Body Manipulation systems
- Shrine Wish mechanics
- New quests
- Raid-based progression
Before focusing on Sukuna, players should complete the starting quest on the island. These quests work similarly to quests from previous islands and usually involve defeating enemies or completing objectives around the area.
Finishing the questline helps you unlock the systems required to start grinding for Sukuna.
Shrine Wish System
Another new feature introduced in the update is the Shrine Wish system.
This mechanic allows players to obtain different items related to the Jujutsu Kaisen update, including:
- Fingers
- Drop items
- Special materials
While these rewards are helpful for progression, the Shrine Wish itself is not the main method for obtaining Sukuna. Instead, it supports the grinding process by providing useful items needed for later stages.
The Main Method to Get Sukuna
The real method for unlocking Sukuna revolves around Raids.
Players must participate in raids in order to obtain a special item known as a Key. These keys are extremely important because they unlock access to a special boss dimension where Sukuna can be fought.
The process looks like this:
- Join raids
- Complete the raid
- Obtain a key as a drop
- Use the key to open the Sukuna dimension
Once the key is obtained, you’re one step closer to fighting Sukuna.
Opening the Sukuna Dimension
After obtaining the required key item—often referred to as the Bird Cage Domain—you need to talk to the NPC responsible for opening the boss dimension.
This NPC acts as a gateway to the Sukuna raid dungeon.
When the gate opens, players enter a boss fight where Sukuna appears as the main enemy.
This fight is typically easier when done with multiple players, which is why many players host public lobbies or invite strong teammates before starting the encounter.
Sukuna Drop Chance Explained
Defeating Sukuna in the raid does not guarantee that you will unlock the unit.
Instead, Sukuna has a 2.5% drop chance, meaning you may need multiple runs before finally obtaining him.
This is fairly common for high-tier units in Anime Tactical Simulator, and the update even introduced pity systems for raids and rifts to help balance the grind.
Because of the low drop rate, players usually run the dungeon repeatedly until Sukuna eventually drops.
Upgrading Sukuna After Unlocking Him
Once you finally obtain Sukuna, the next step is upgrading him to reach his full power.
Players typically do this by:
- Fusing duplicate units to level him up
- Rerolling traits for stronger bonuses
- Equipping accessories that boost damage
These upgrades dramatically increase Sukuna’s performance.
Even without full optimization, Sukuna already deals massive damage once unlocked.
Sukuna Damage and Performance
After leveling and upgrading Sukuna, his damage output becomes extremely impressive.
With basic upgrades and accessories equipped, Sukuna can deal tens of thousands of damage per attack, and even higher numbers when using abilities.
His critical hits and ultimate abilities can reach extremely high damage values, making him one of the strongest tactical units available in the update.
Because of this, many players consider him a top-tier unit for damage builds.
The Jujutsu Kaisen update in Anime Tactical Simulator adds several new mechanics, but the highlight for most players is definitely unlocking Sukuna.
While the process requires some grinding through raids and boss fights, the payoff is worth it. Once obtained and upgraded, Sukuna becomes one of the strongest tactical units available in the game.
If you’re willing to run raids repeatedly and take advantage of the new systems introduced in the update, eventually the King of Curses will join your roster.
