Grinding in Simple Spells mostly comes down to how efficiently you can destroy blocks and collect gold. While every spell technically works, some are dramatically better than others when it comes to area damage, cooldown speed, and overall farming efficiency.
After spending time testing different abilities and watching how they perform during long grinding sessions, certain spells clearly stand out. Some spells melt entire clusters of blocks instantly, while others barely scratch anything and quickly become useless once you reach later islands.
Below is a practical breakdown of the current spell tiers and how they perform during real grinding.
SS Tier
Server Destruction
If we’re talking pure power, nothing in the game really compares to Server Destruction.
Damage: Extremely high
Cooldown: ~15 seconds
Area: Massive
When this spell activates, it essentially wipes a huge area of blocks instantly. Entire farming zones can disappear in one cast, which makes it incredibly efficient for gold farming.
The catch:
This spell costs 10,000 Robux, which places it firmly behind a massive paywall. Because of that, most players will never realistically use it.
Still, if someone actually owns this spell, it easily dominates every other option.
S Tier
These spells offer excellent damage and strong area clearing potential.
Fire Spin
Damage: ~7,000
Cooldown: ~5 seconds
Area: Large AoE
Fire Spin is widely considered the best free-to-play spell in Simple Spells. The combination of huge damage and a very short cooldown makes it perfect for repeatedly clearing blocks while farming.
It becomes even stronger once upgraded on the second island, making it one of the most reliable spells for both early and mid-game grinding.
Cosmic Annihilation
Damage: ~8,000
Cooldown: ~20 seconds
Area: Huge AoE
Cosmic Annihilation hits incredibly hard and clears large areas in a single cast. The only downside is that it’s locked behind a Robux shop with a random drop chance, meaning players essentially gamble for it.
If you manage to obtain it, though, the damage output is incredible.
Earthquake
Damage: ~7,000
Cooldown: ~35 seconds
Area: Extremely large
Earthquake shakes the entire area and destroys massive groups of blocks instantly.
The only drawback is the very long cooldown, which means you should always pair it with another spell so you’re not stuck waiting.
Even with that downside, the raw clearing power makes it one of the best spells available.
Planet Fall
Damage: ~3,000
Cooldown: ~30 seconds
Area: Large AoE
Planet Fall literally drops a planet onto the battlefield, wiping out clusters of blocks.
While the cooldown is long and it’s locked behind a Robux shop chance, the visual impact and farming potential make it a very strong spell overall.
A Tier
These spells are powerful but have noticeable drawbacks such as cooldowns or scaling issues.
Meteor
Damage: ~600
Cooldown: ~8 seconds
Area: Large AoE
Meteor performs extremely well early in the game. It clears clusters easily and upgrades quickly.
However, its damage falls off hard in later areas, making it more of an early-game carry spell.
Fireblades
Damage: ~3,500
Cooldown: ~14 seconds
Area: Large projectile AoE
Fireblades launches a strong ranged attack that can break multiple blocks at once.
The biggest downside is that it cannot be upgraded, which limits its long-term usefulness.
Tesla Coil
Damage: ~2,500+
Cooldown: ~7 seconds
Area: Small radius
Tesla Coil deals solid damage and upgrades easily, but its area is relatively small. To maximize it, players need to aim carefully.
When used correctly, though, it’s still a very effective grinding spell.
Blizzard
Damage: ~1,200
Cooldown: ~22 seconds
Area: Large AoE
Blizzard works well when farming frozen areas and clears blocks over a wide area.
The cooldown is fairly long for the damage it deals, which prevents it from reaching S tier.
Water Beam
Damage: Multiple small hits
Cooldown: ~14 seconds
Area: Beam attack
Water Beam deals continuous ticks of damage and performs very well early in the game.
However, the damage scaling becomes weaker later on, making it more of a mid-game option.
B Tier
Grand Slice
Damage: ~750
Cooldown: ~14 seconds
Grand Slice feels satisfying when cutting through rows of blocks and performs well during early farming.
The issue is the long cooldown combined with damage that doesn’t scale well into later stages.
Blue Fire Ring
Damage: ~300 × 3 hits
Cooldown: ~13 seconds
This spell is solid early but becomes less effective once stronger spells become available.
It’s not terrible, but there are definitely better options.
C Tier
These spells are usable early on but should be replaced quickly.
Tsunami
Damage: ~30
Cooldown: ~8 seconds
Looks impressive visually, but the damage is simply too low to compete with stronger spells.
Water Blast
Damage: ~15
Cooldown: ~1 second
Target: Single target
The fast cooldown is nice, but the extremely low damage and single-target limitation make it inefficient for farming.
Cyclone
Damage: ~40
Cooldown: ~8 seconds
Cyclone is easy to upgrade but doesn’t offer anything special compared to stronger AoE spells.
Sphere Lightning
Damage: ~40
Cooldown: ~8 seconds
Very easy to obtain, but mostly used as a temporary spell until better options appear.
D Tier
These spells are simply not worth using once you unlock anything better.
Explosion
Damage: ~5
Cooldown: ~8 seconds
Extremely low damage makes it ineffective against stronger blocks.
Lightning
Damage: 1
Cooldown: ~2.4 seconds
Even with a large area, the damage is far too weak to matter.
Ice Spike
Damage: 1
Cooldown: ~1 second
Target: Single target
The damage output is so low that it barely affects blocks.
Fireball
Damage: 1
Cooldown: ~0.9 seconds
Target: Single target
Fast cooldown doesn’t make up for the extremely weak damage.
The current Simple Spells meta heavily favors high AoE damage abilities that can destroy multiple blocks at once. Single-target spells struggle to keep up because grinding requires speed and efficiency.
For most players, Fire Spin remains the best free spell, while Robux-based spells like Cosmic Annihilation and Planet Fall dominate if you’re lucky enough to obtain them.
Until the developers rebalance the system or introduce new spells, focusing on AoE damage and fast cooldown rotations remains the most effective way to farm gold quickly.
