If you’ve just started Mashle Academy, there’s a lot thrown at you early on. Between classes, magic, quests, and exploration, it can feel confusing at first. This guide breaks everything down properly so you understand how to progress without making early mistakes.
Character Creation (What to Pick First)
When you start the game, you’ll create your character. This is where your build begins.
Weapon Classes
You can choose from:
- Wand (Magic)
- Fist
- Sword
- Gun
- Shield
Each class plays differently, so pick based on your playstyle. Magic is the most flexible, but all are viable.
Traits, Magic & Customization
Before confirming:
- Click each trait to read what it does
- Choose your magic type and markings
- You also have clan and race, which can be changed later
Nothing here is fully permanent, so don’t stress too much — you can reroll later.
Tutorial (Exam Hall)
After creation, you’re sent into the Exam Hall, which acts as the tutorial.
Stage 1 – IQ Test
Very simple, nothing to worry about.
Stage 2 – Earth Maze
- Start from the left side
- Move toward the right side to find the exit
After this, the game introduces combat and mechanics. You don’t need to overthink it — just follow along.
Core Controls & UI (Important)
Once you’re out of the tutorial, learn these immediately:
- M → Character stats (magic, skills, weapons)
- Tab → Inventory
- L → Summon broom
- Hold click → Move
- Space (while moving) → Boost speed
- N → Locate NPCs
You’ll use these constantly while playing.
Choosing Your Academy
After the tutorial, you’ll pick an academy.
There are currently three academies, and you can choose any of them. This isn’t permanent — you can switch later from the library NPC.
Each academy includes:
- Classroom
- Library
- Battle Arena
Quest System Explained
There are three types of quests:
Main Quests
- Always visible
- Found on the quest board
- Drives your progression
Side Quests
- Given by NPCs
- Must be found manually
Daily Quests
- Also NPC-based
- Reset regularly
You can track quests, and the game will guide you toward objectives, making progression smoother.
Classes (Free XP System)
Every academy has a classroom system.
- Happens every hour
- You take an exam
- Passing gives experience and rewards
This is one of the easiest ways to level up consistently.
Teleportation & Exploration
You’ll unlock a Magic Rift for teleportation.
Early on:
- Only Wildwood is available
Once there:
- Use N key to locate important NPCs
- This area becomes your main progression zone
Important NPCs You Should Know
Blacksmiths
There are two types:
- Gear/weapon crafting & upgrades
- Broom upgrades
Merchant Mahir (Very Important)
This NPC is crucial early game.
He sells:
- Keys (used for chests)
Ways to get keys:
- Buy (50 silver coins)
- Craft from merchant
- Drop from enemies
- Rewards from missions
IMPORTANT: Saving Items (Common Mistake)
If an item appears in your quick slots, it is temporary.
If you die or reset:
- You lose it
To save it:
- Click the item
- Press F to store it permanently
This is one of the biggest beginner mistakes — don’t ignore this.
Rolling Magic, Clan & Race
You can reroll your build later.
- Costs 20 gold per spin
- Gold comes from missions, chests, etc.
There’s also another way to get magic:
- Fight magic user NPCs
- Win → they teach you their magic
But be careful:
- These NPCs are very strong early game
Broom System (Movement)
Your broom is your main movement tool.
- Press L to summon
- Hold click to move
- Press space to boost speed
You can also:
- Upgrade your broom
- Change its appearance
Code Redemption
Each academy has an NPC where you can:
- Redeem codes
- Get rewards like spins or items
Always check for new codes since they help early progression a lot.
Beginner Progression Path (What You Should Do First)
If you’re unsure where to start, follow this:
- Finish tutorial
- Pick academy
- Start main quests
- Attend hourly classes
- Go to Wildwood
- Farm mobs and collect keys
- Upgrade gear & broom
- Save all important items
- Reroll only when needed
Mashle Academy is still in testing, so expect bugs and changes. But once you understand the systems — quests, classes, magic, and inventory — progression becomes much smoother.
Focus on learning mechanics first, then optimizing your build later.
