Anime Astral Simulator Update 8.0 Guide – Lion Kingdom

Anime Astral Simulator Update 8.0 is here, and there’s quite a bit more going on than simply another world to grind. This is basically the Seven Deadly Sins-themed update, with the new Lion Kingdom world sitting at the center of everything. Once you get there, you’ve got Commandments to collect, a new Constellation progression system to work through, the Sins Raid, more ranks and promotions, 10 achievements, Trial Hard difficulty, new pets and accessories, plus three fresh codes to redeem.

And yes, your usual routine of entering a new world, turning on auto-roll and walking away is still part of the experience. But there are enough new permanent progression systems here that I’d spend a few minutes figuring them out before going completely AFK.

Here’s what you need to know about Anime Astral Simulator Update 8.0.

The new Update 8 world is called Lion Kingdom, based around The Seven Deadly Sins.

Unlocking it follows the same general progression you’re already used to.

You’ll need to continue defeating the required enemies in your current progression until you’ve completed enough kills to unlock the next map. Once you’ve satisfied those requirements, Lion Kingdom becomes available and you can teleport there.

There’s no particularly strange puzzle or hidden entrance involved.

Once you arrive, though, there’s one thing I’d do immediately:

Pick up the side quest.

It’s incredibly easy to get distracted by the new summons, enemies and systems and then realize you’ve been farming for several minutes without progressing the quest sitting nearby.

Grab it first. Farm second.

During the initial Update 8 testing, the usual quest-related progression appeared to be missing or bugged in places, so don’t immediately assume you’ve done something wrong if something isn’t displaying correctly after an update launches.

Lion Kingdom introduces the new Update 8 enemies and characters themed around the Seven Deadly Sins.

If you’ve recently ranked up, don’t be surprised if these enemies suddenly feel much tougher than whatever you were comfortably farming before.

The gameplay shown for the update was at Rank 61, earning around 8.4 BQ, and some of the new enemies were already taking noticeably longer to kill.

Lion Kingdom is also where you’ll interact with two of Update 8’s bigger systems:

Commandments and Constellations.

Before worrying too much about either one, though, get your basic farming setup running so you’re still earning resources while looking around.

Lion Kingdom comes with its own new summon pool featuring characters tied to the update.

The usual auto-roll strategy still works well here.

Get your auto-roll going while farming so you’re constantly building up new units instead of standing around manually rolling.

There’s one thing I’d avoid doing, though: blindly getting rid of every Mythic you pull.

You’ll want to keep enough Mythics for the Shiny crafting system.

Even when a normal Mythic isn’t good enough for your active team, it can still have value toward crafting and index progression.

If you’re cleaning out Shiny units, you can use the Shiny selection/glow option to help manage them more easily.

Basically, don’t turn your inventory cleanup into one of those moments where you realize five minutes later that you deleted exactly what you needed for crafting.

Commandments are one of the major systems introduced with Update 8.

According to the update information, Commandments can spawn around the Lion Kingdom map.

You’ll need to explore the world and collect these spawns.

There are:

10 Commandments 10 different boosts

You can only have one Commandment equipped at a time.

That last part matters.

This isn’t a system where you collect all ten and permanently stack ten enormous bonuses simultaneously. Instead, collecting Commandments gives you different options, and you choose the one that provides the boost you currently want.

Additional Commandments can also increase the associated gain as you progress through the system, with progression going up to 10.

Your equipped Commandment is also visible around your character, so it isn’t purely a menu-based stat bonus.

I’d recommend collecting these whenever you spot them rather than deciding you’ll come back later. You’re already going to spend a lot of time farming Lion Kingdom, so grabbing nearby Commandments along the way is basically free progression.

Commandments aren’t the only new progression mechanic.

Update 8 also adds Constellations.

There are seven different Constellations, and each one provides a different boost.

The progression works sequentially.

You complete one Constellation to obtain its boost and then move forward toward the next one.

So think of it more like another progression tree rather than seven completely independent bonuses that you instantly unlock.

You’ll notice XP and progression requirements associated with the system, along with tokens needed for certain actions such as auto-roll.

The exact resource progression wasn’t particularly obvious when first checking the update, so this is one system I’d recommend working on naturally while progressing through Lion Kingdom rather than burning resources before understanding what each Constellation provides.

Now we get to one of the biggest pieces of Update 8:

The Sins Raid.

You’ll need a raid key to create or enter the relevant raid session, and the new raid provides several Update 8-specific rewards.

Possible progression and rewards shown include:

• Gourmet Coin

• Sins Token

• Lion Shard

• New Mount

• New Pet Accessory

• New Avatar

• Meliodas God

• Cruel Sun-related Pet Accessory

There’s a decent amount tied to this raid, so expect it to become one of the main things you’ll repeatedly farm during Update 8.

One warning from launch day: the raid initially appeared absurdly difficult.

Even switching over to a DPS-oriented build barely seemed to move the boss’s health.

That wasn’t necessarily intended difficulty.

Servers were subsequently reset, and after the fix the raid became much more reasonable.

So if you saw early footage where the boss looked practically unkillable, don’t use that as your benchmark for how strong your team needs to be.

The raid appears to use progression thresholds that reward you as you advance.

A 50K requirement was shown during the updated raid progression, with Gourmet-related rewards connected to the system.

This makes the Sins Raid more than a simple “kill boss, collect random drop, leave” activity.

You’ll be farming its currencies and progression while working toward the more desirable Update 8 rewards.

If your team is struggling, prioritize improving actual damage rather than filling slots purely with farming bonuses. You can always switch between specialized builds depending on whether you’re AFK farming regular enemies or actively pushing raid content.

Update 8 also gives you another Mythic to chase.

The Mythic shown around the Lion Kingdom/Sins Raid progression had roughly 183K power, which is respectable without being completely absurd compared with stronger established units.

Once you’ve obtained several copies, that’s when I’d start being more aggressive with your auto-roll filters.

Before that, keep enough copies to create the Shiny version.

Even if the Shiny ultimately doesn’t stay on your main team forever, crafting it matters for your collection/index progression.

This is something that’s easy to forget when you’re only looking at raw power numbers.

A unit doesn’t have to be your new best unit to be worth crafting.

If you’re chasing Avatar or collection progression, check your Lion Kingdom index as you obtain the new characters.

You’ll want to craft the required units instead of simply rolling past everything once your active team is strong enough.

This becomes especially relevant once you’ve obtained the Mythics you need.

At that point, adjust your auto-roll settings and start targeting whatever you’re still missing rather than filling your inventory with endless copies you no longer need.

Another important Update 8 addition is a new difficulty for Trials:

Trial Hard.

Trials now give you another higher-difficulty option beyond the easier progression.

This is especially useful when you’re working on promotion materials and shards/fragments.

If your team is strong enough to comfortably clear the harder difficulty, it’s worth moving up rather than endlessly farming easier content.

Update 8 also adds two new Promotions, meaning those resources aren’t going to sit unused for long if you’re pushing endgame progression.

The level grind also continues.

Anime Astral Simulator Update 8 adds eight new rank-ups.

If you were already sitting near the previous progression ceiling, you’ve now got another set of ranks to work through.

Just remember what ranking up does to your immediate farming strength.

You may feel substantially weaker right after advancing because you’re rebuilding your stats/progression again. That’s exactly what happened while testing Lion Kingdom—the new enemies initially felt far tankier because a recent rank-up had reset some of that comfortable farming power.

If Lion Kingdom suddenly feels impossible after ranking up, spend some time farming before assuming your team is terrible.

Alongside the eight rank-ups, there are two additional Promotions.

That makes Trial farming more relevant again because you’ll need the appropriate promotion resources to continue progressing.

Players who were already stockpiling materials will obviously have an easier time here, but Trial Hard should help make obtaining the necessary resources less painful once you’re strong enough to farm it consistently.

Achievement hunters weren’t forgotten either.

Update 8 adds 10 new achievements.

Make sure you actually open your achievement menu after starting the update and look at what you’re missing.

It’s surprisingly easy to complete achievement conditions naturally while farming and then forget that there are rewards waiting to be claimed.

With Lion Kingdom farming, Commandments, raids and all the other new progression happening simultaneously, you’ll likely make progress toward several achievements without specifically targeting them.

There are also 11 new Global Quests.

That’s another reason I wouldn’t tunnel-vision entirely on the Sins Raid.

Check your quest progression before settling into a long AFK session. If a Global Quest requires something you can easily incorporate into your normal farming route, you might as well progress both simultaneously.

Efficient progression in Anime Astral Simulator usually comes down to stacking several objectives together rather than farming each system separately.

This is one of those changes that doesn’t sound particularly exciting until you’ve actually farmed the mode.

The developers changed how minions spawn during King of Curse Rush.

Minions should now consistently spawn around the boss rather than appearing in inconvenient locations.

Why does that matter?

You can AFK the mode much more reliably.

Your attacks aren’t constantly missing enemies that spawned somewhere awkward, and your character doesn’t need to wander around trying to reach scattered targets.

If King of Curse Rush is part of your regular farming routine, this is a genuinely useful quality-of-life change.

Update 8 also introduces additional Food Power Boosts.

Different foods provide different bonuses, so food now gives you another way to optimize your setup depending on what you’re doing.

Before consuming everything randomly, look at the bonus each food provides.

Your ideal boost for farming Lion Kingdom isn’t necessarily going to be identical to what you’d want while trying to maximize DPS inside Sins Raid.

It’s another small layer of build optimization that becomes more valuable as enemy HP and progression requirements increase.

The Starter Pack has been refreshed for Update 8 and now includes a Sacred Pet.

Whether that’s worthwhile depends heavily on where you are in progression.

For an established player who already owns the previous packs and has much stronger pets, buying another bundle just because the update changed isn’t automatically good value.

Check the actual stats against what you’re already using.

Don’t buy a pack because “new” is written next to it.

Waifu Bundle 4 introduces another strong pet.

The unit shown had approximately 350K power.

For context, the Divine Gojo used for comparison had around 603K, so the bundle unit wasn’t replacing the absolute strongest pet in that inventory, but 350K was still a very respectable number.

There’s another important detail:

The new pet can use the Golden Ring accessory.

If you’re using her, equip the Golden Ring to get the additional bonus rather than leaving the accessory slot unused.

You should also make sure you’re properly rolling/upgrading the unit instead of judging its final usefulness entirely from its initial state.

Three new codes were shown for Update 8:

Redeem all three while they’re active.

The expected rewards were around 200 Tickets per code, although rewards can always be adjusted by the developers.

Even if you’re already far into the game, free Tickets are still free Tickets, so there’s really no reason to leave these sitting unredeemed.
