Anime Expeditions 2.0 Guide – New Units, Portals, Fishing

Anime Expeditions 2.0 brings a lot of new content to the game, so there is plenty to check out if you are returning after the update. In this guide, I will walk you through the main things you need to know, including the new units, portals, fishing system, Sand Dollars, event items, and more.

The update adds several ways to earn new units and event rewards. Some units come from portals, while others require the Battle Pass, Bingo, or capsules from the event shop. There are also new fishing rods and a fishing index that can give you additional rewards as you progress.

I will keep everything as simple as possible and explain where you need to go and what you need to do. If you are just getting started with the 2.0 update, this should help you understand what to focus on first.

There are several new units available in the Anime Expeditions 2.0 update, and they are obtained in different ways.

The main methods include:

• Summer portals

• Battle Pass

• Bingo event

• Event capsules

• Event shop progression

Let’s start with the portal units.

Lightning God and Sovereign are both obtained through portals.

However, you cannot simply jump into these portals immediately. You first need to craft them using the required materials.

Head over to the Crafting Station, where you should find the portals for Lightning God and Sovereign.

To craft the Lightning God portal, you need Charge Dust.

You can get Charge Dust by playing Sky and Ruin – Infinite. The drop chance shown in the video is 2.5%, so you may need to run the stage several times before getting enough.

Once you obtain a portal, you start with Tier 1. After completing Tier 1, you can progress through the higher tiers.

The progression works like this:

• Tier 1

• Tier 2

• Tier 3

• Tier 4

• Tier 5

You will eventually be able to work your way through these tiers and obtain the materials needed for your progression.

You also need to craft the Ancient Belt if you want to evolve the required unit.

The Sovereign portal is a little easier to obtain because you have another option besides farming for the portal materials.

You can get it through the Title Siege or by purchasing the portal with gems.

The portal costs 1,000 Gems.

Once you have it, the progression works similarly to the Lightning God portal. Start with Tier 1 and continue through Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4, and Tier 5.

If you want to progress efficiently, portals are one of the main things worth focusing on during the event.

If you are working toward the new evolution, don’t forget about the Lightning Emblem.

You can purchase this item from the Summer Shop inside the event area.

To find it, go to:

Events → Title Siege → Shop

The Lightning Emblem is required for the evolution mentioned in the update, so make sure you pick it up when you have enough event currency.

The Gesture is one of the new units and is obtained through the Battle Pass.

So, unlike the portal units, you don’t need to farm a specific portal for this one. If you want Gesture, focus on progressing through the Battle Pass and completing the required objectives.

Kitsune is another event unit, but this one is connected to the Bingo system.

To progress through Bingo, you need to collect dice.

You can earn these dice by playing different game modes, including:

• Story

• Infinite

• Challenge

• Master

• Raid

• Portal

• Tower

• Title Siege

Personally, I would focus on Portals and Title Siege because you can work toward multiple rewards at the same time instead of spreading your farming across every mode.

The remaining new units are mainly obtained from capsules.

To get these capsules, head over to the event shop.

Go to:

Events → Title Siege → Shop

You can purchase the available capsules there using the event currency you have earned.

So if you are trying to collect every new unit, make sure you are consistently earning event currency and checking the shop.

Sand Dollars are one of the important currencies introduced with the update.

There are several ways to earn them. You can get Sand Dollars from:

• Fishing

• Title Siege

• Summer portals

All of these methods work, but I would recommend combining Title Siege and fishing if you want to make your farming more efficient.

You can earn Sand Dollars while fishing, while Title Siege gives you another way to build up your event currency.

If you are playing manually, portals are one of the fastest ways to earn the currency.

You can also use the event shop to purchase the new evolution items.

The new items cost 10,000 each, so you will need to do quite a bit of grinding if you want to collect everything.

The update also adds several pieces of new gear, including:

• Poison Frog

• Poison Hook

• Various Staff

• Tidal Blade

Make sure you check the event shop regularly as you earn more currency.

Fishing is one of the biggest additions in Anime Expeditions 2.0.

There are several different fishing rods you can work toward, and each one has a different way of being obtained.

The rods mentioned in the update include:

• Normal Rod

• Recycling Rod

• Lucky Rod

• Auto Rod

• Advanced Rod

Each rod has its own advantages, so the best one for you depends on whether you are playing manually or trying to automate your farming.

If you are playing on mobile, the Auto Rod is particularly useful because it allows you to fish automatically.

To get it, you need to complete 150 waves in the Title Siege game mode.

If you mainly play on mobile and want to make fishing less annoying, this is one of the rods I would prioritize.

The Lucky Rod has a 1% chance of being obtained while fishing.

Although the initial chance is low, this rod can be extremely useful because it provides a guaranteed Mythic drop every eighth fish caught, according to the video.

For PC players who plan to automate or macro their fishing, the Lucky Rod is therefore a very attractive option.

The Recycling Rod has a simple requirement.

You need to fish 100 times to obtain it.

So even if you are not specifically grinding for this rod, you can work toward it naturally while completing your fishing progression.

The Advanced Rod can be purchased from the Summer Shop.

Go to:

Events → Title Siege → Event Shop

The Advanced Rod costs 750 event currency.

Once you have enough currency, you can purchase it directly from the shop.

There are also several quests connected to the fishing event.

Some of the objectives include:

• Catch 50 fish

• Catch all 18 types of fish

• Obtain all five fishing rods

Most of these quests are fairly straightforward, so I recommend completing them naturally while you are fishing rather than leaving them until the end of the event.

The objective involving all 18 fish can take longer because it is RNG-based, so don’t worry if you don’t complete it immediately.

The actual fishing system is quite simple.

First, look at the bottom-left corner of your screen and find the fishing rod icon.

Click on it to equip your fishing rod.

After that, click in the fishing area to cast your line.

When you catch a fish, you need to follow the blue bar and the small fish indicator. Once you complete the fishing interaction, you will receive your rewards.

The system is similar to fishing mechanics you may have already seen in other Roblox games, so it should not take long to understand.

After catching a fish, you can receive things such as:

• Sand Dollars

• Fishing XP

• Battle Pass XP

The Fishing Index contains different fish that can be found in different locations.

Some of the event fish can be caught in Coral Kingdom, which is connected to the new Summer Portal and Title Siege.

Other fish can be found through the regular story stages.

Fishing is also important because it gives you Fishing XP. As you gain XP and increase your fishing level, you can unlock milestone rewards.

So even if you are mainly interested in the event currency, it is worth keeping an eye on your fishing progression.

Fishing works a little differently inside the Title Siege game mode.

While fishing there, you can obtain special buff fish and even units.

Yes, you can actually fish up units that can be used within the game mode, which makes fishing in Title Siege much more useful than it might initially seem.

There is also a separate pity system in Title Siege. The exact way this pity works was unclear in the video, but it is still worth progressing through the mode and taking advantage of its rewards.

Another useful part of the update is that you can earn event currency by winning non-event game modes.

The reward mentioned in the video is 250 event currency for winning a non-event game mode, with a limit of 10,000 per day.

This includes modes such as:

• Challenges

• Story stages

• Infinite

• Other regular game modes

Because of this, you don’t have to spend all your time inside the event. You can continue playing your usual modes while still making progress toward the event rewards.

The update also introduces a new credit event connected to Phoenix videos.

The basic idea is similar to the Sebastian game mode, although the mechanics are different.

Since the exact mechanics were not covered in the video, I would recommend checking the event yourself before deciding how much time you want to spend on it.

Anime Expeditions 2.0 also adds a trade swap quality feature.

This gives players another useful way to manage their trades and improve the overall trading experience.

The feature is similar to one seen in other anime-themed Roblox games, but regardless of where the idea came from, it is a welcome addition to the game.

One other topic discussed in the video is the game’s current player count.

At the time the video was recorded, Anime Expeditions had around 51,000 players, compared with roughly 200,000 players previously.

The creator believes one possible reason for the decline is the long gap between updates.

Anime tower defense games generally benefit from frequent updates because players can quickly complete the available content. If a major update takes several weeks or a month to arrive, players may move on to other games.

The 2.0 update itself contains a lot of content, but the concern is that players could potentially finish most of it within a week or two and then have to wait several more weeks for something new.

Of course, this is just an opinion about the game’s current situation, and things can change quickly if the developers release more consistent updates.

If you want to make the most of the update, I would focus on a few activities rather than trying to do everything randomly.

First, work on the Summer Portals if you are trying to get the new portal units. At the same time, participate in Title Siege, since it can help you earn event currency and progress toward other rewards.

For fishing, work toward the rods that fit your playstyle. Mobile players can prioritize the Auto Rod, while PC players who plan to automate their fishing may prefer the Lucky Rod because of its Mythic guarantee mechanic.

Also, don’t ignore regular game modes. The daily event-currency reward means you can make useful progress simply by playing the content you normally enjoy.

Anime Expeditions 2.0 is a fairly large update with plenty of new systems to explore. You have new units from portals, the Battle Pass, Bingo, and capsules, along with the new fishing system and Sand Dollar currency.

If you want to progress quickly, I would personally start with the Summer Portals and Title Siege, then add fishing to your routine so you can work on your Fishing XP, Sand Dollars, rods, and event rewards at the same time.

There is quite a lot to grind, especially if you want all the new units, gear, evolution items, and fishing rewards. Hopefully, this guide gives you a clear idea of what to focus on first and helps you get through the Anime Expeditions 2.0 update without wasting your time.
