Anime Expeditions Eclipse Update Guide – How to Get New Units

The Eclipse Update has arrived in Anime Expeditions, bringing several new units, a difficult new raid, special quests, evolutions, and two new events to complete. There is quite a lot to do in this update, especially if you want to collect every new character and their signature gear.

In this post, I will go through the complete Anime Expeditions Eclipse Update and explain how we can get all four new units. We will also look at the new raid, the best way to prepare for Act 3, how to get Falcon and Summer Falcon, and what you need to do to evolve the new characters.

The update also introduces new events such as Who Am I? and Golden Hour, so there are plenty of rewards available outside the main Eclipse content. Let’s go through everything step by step so you know where to start.

The Eclipse Update adds four new units to Anime Expeditions:

• Falcon

• Guts

• Summer Falcon

• Eclipse Hunter

These units are obtained through two different progression methods. Some come from the new Eclipse questline, while others are rewards from the new raid.

Here is the basic breakdown:

• Falcon — Obtained through the questline

• Summer Falcon — Obtained through the questline

• Guts — Obtained from the raid

• Eclipse Hunter — Obtained from the raid

Because the raid is one of the most important parts of the update, I recommend understanding its progression before trying to rush toward the final stage.

The new Eclipse Raid works similarly to the Spirit City content, but it is considerably more difficult.

The raid is divided into different Acts, and each one gives different rewards. You will need to progress through these stages to collect the new units and their signature gear.

The rewards are divided as follows:

The first Act can reward you with signature gear for the new raid units.

This includes signature gear connected to:

• Eclipse Hunter

• Guts

If you are planning to fully build these characters, farming the raid is important because the units alone are not the only rewards available.

Act 2 is where you can obtain Eclipse Hunter.

However, I would not recommend immediately rushing toward Act 3 after unlocking this stage.

Instead, spend some time farming Act 2 first.

This is important because Act 2 can provide Coin Pouches, which are needed for one of the most useful preparations for the final Act.

The third Act rewards players with Guts.

This is the stage many players will probably want to reach quickly, but it is also the hardest part of the raid.

Before attempting it repeatedly, make sure you have prepared your damage buffs.

One of the biggest recommendations for the Eclipse Raid is farming Act 2 for Coin Pouches before spending too much time on Act 3.

Once you have Coin Pouches, head to the appropriate shop and travel to the Snowy Castle section.

Here, you can purchase Snowy Castle Totems.

You can buy up to 10 Totems, and each one provides:

• 10% Damage Buff

With all 10 Totems, you can gain a total of:

• 100% Additional Damage

This makes a huge difference when attempting Act 3.

Without these damage buffs, the final stage can take significantly longer to complete. So, in my opinion, farming Act 2 and getting the Totems first is one of the smartest things you can do before focusing seriously on Act 3.

After obtaining Eclipse Hunter, you will need to complete its evolution requirements.

To evolve the unit, open the Quest menu and then go to the Trial section.

You will find the required Trial there.

Complete the Trial associated with Eclipse Hunter, and you can continue the evolution progression.

Make sure you check the requirements carefully before starting because the Trial is part of the unit’s progression rather than something completed automatically through the raid.

Guts follows a more straightforward progression.

After obtaining the unit from the third Act of the Eclipse Raid, you simply need to use the available evolution system to evolve him.

Unlike Eclipse Hunter, the important thing is reaching the required progression and completing the normal evolution requirements.

So if your main goal is getting both new raid units, your progression will look something like this:

• Farm Act 2.

• Get Eclipse Hunter.

• Collect Coin Pouches.

• Buy Snowy Castle Totems.

• Build up your damage buffs.

• Farm Act 3.

• Obtain Guts.

• Complete their evolution requirements.

Falcon and Summer Falcon are obtained through the new questline connected to a special NPC.

To begin, enter the appropriate map and search for an NPC called Broken Falcon.

The important thing to remember is that Broken Falcon’s location is randomized.

This means I cannot give you one permanent location and tell you exactly where to go every time. You will need to explore the map and search for him during your session.

Once you find Broken Falcon, interact with him to begin the questline.

After speaking with Broken Falcon and accepting the quest, open your Quest menu.

Scroll down through the available quests until you find the new Falcon-related progression.

The quest requires special Souls that can be collected through the Eclipse event.

The two important resources mentioned are:

• Redeemed Soul

• Sacrificial Soul

These Souls are used as part of the progression for the new Falcon units.

To collect the required Souls, you need to participate in the Eclipse Infinite Stage.

The location of the Eclipse event can change, so you should not always expect it to appear in the same area.

For example, it may currently be available in one location, but later rotate to another map.

The easiest way to identify the event is to look for the special Eclipse symbol.

You should see a visual indicator featuring the sun and an Eclipse.

Once you find it:

• Select the Eclipse event.

• Enter the event.

• Choose the Infinite stage.

• Complete the stage and farm rewards.

The Eclipse Infinite mode can reward you with both:

• Redeemed Soul

• Sacrificial Soul

Keep farming until you have enough Souls for your quest progression.

Once you have collected the required Souls, return to the Broken Falcon NPC.

Interact with him again and use your Souls to continue the questline and claim the available rewards.

This is how the Falcon-related progression works in the Eclipse Update.

Since Broken Falcon’s location can be randomized, remember where you found him during your session if possible. It can save you time when you need to return after farming Souls.

The Eclipse Update introduces a new event called Who Am I?

This event tests your knowledge of anime characters.

You will receive clues describing a particular character, and your job is to figure out who the character is.

The clues can describe things such as:

• The character’s background

• Their appearance

• Their weapon

• Their abilities

• Their story

For example, you may receive clues related to a character’s powers or personal history and then need to select the correct answer.

If you know your anime characters, this event should be fairly straightforward.

Once you correctly identify the character, you can receive rewards.

So, rather than requiring difficult combat or endless farming, Who Am I? is more about how much knowledge you have about the characters featured in Anime Expeditions.

The second new event is called Golden Hour.

Golden Hour works somewhat similarly to the Eclipse event because its availability can be randomized.

To find it, look for the special Golden Coin indicator.

Once you see the Golden Coin:

• Click the event.

• Enter the available stage.

• Complete the stage.

• Collect your rewards.

The rewards can be random, so you may receive different items depending on your run.

Some of the available rewards can include valuable materials and other useful items for your progression.

This makes Golden Hour worth checking whenever you see the event appear.

Not every piece of signature gear comes directly from the Eclipse Raid.

While some signature equipment is available through raid progression, other pieces need to be crafted.

Two of the craftable signature gear items mentioned in the update are:

• Mentor’s Cape

• Pointy Straw

To get these items, head to the crafting section and check their recipes.

Fortunately, these items are relatively easy to craft compared to some of the more difficult raid progression.

If you are trying to completely build your new units, make sure you check both the raid rewards and the crafting system so you do not miss any equipment.

There is a lot happening in this update, so I recommend following a simple progression order instead of randomly jumping between activities.

Here is the route I would suggest:

Start by checking for new Anime Expeditions codes and redeeming them before beginning your grind.

Codes can provide useful rewards that may help with the new update content.

Enter the map and search for the Broken Falcon NPC.

His location is randomized, so you may need to spend some time exploring.

Accept the questline once you find him.

Look for the Eclipse event symbol and enter the Infinite stage.

Farm:

• Redeemed Souls

• Sacrificial Souls

Collect enough Souls for the Broken Falcon questline.

After getting the Souls, return to Broken Falcon and redeem them for your progression toward Falcon and Summer Falcon.

Move on to the new Eclipse Raid and begin working through the Acts.

Farm Act 1 for available signature gear.

Act 2 is extremely important because it gives you the chance to obtain Eclipse Hunter.

At the same time, farm Coin Pouches instead of immediately rushing to the final Act.

Use your Coin Pouches to purchase Snowy Castle Totems.

Try to get all 10 if possible.

Each Totem provides a 10% damage increase, giving you a potential total of 100% extra damage.

Once your damage buffs are ready, start focusing on Act 3.

This is where you can obtain Guts.

After getting the new units, work on their evolution requirements.

Eclipse Hunter requires you to complete the Trial found through the Quest menu.

Guts can be evolved through the standard evolution progression.

Do not forget about the new events.

Take part in:

• Who Am I?

• Golden Hour

Both events can provide additional rewards and give you more things to do outside the main raid progression.

The Eclipse Update adds a lot of new content to Anime Expeditions, including four new units, a difficult new raid, special quests, evolutions, signature gear, and new rotating events.

If you want to progress efficiently, I recommend not rushing immediately into Act 3. Farming Act 2 first for Coin Pouches and getting the Snowy Castle Totems can give you a massive damage boost and make the final raid stage much easier to handle.

For Falcon and Summer Falcon, keep searching for the randomized Broken Falcon NPC and farm the Eclipse Infinite Stage for the required Souls. Meanwhile, Eclipse Hunter and Guts are connected to the new raid progression.

Once you have collected the units, completed their evolutions, crafted the remaining signature gear, and checked the Who Am I? and Golden Hour events, you will have covered the major content included in the Eclipse Update.
