Published 29 Aug 2026, 3:58 pm · 8 min read
The latest Anime Squadrons update adds a powerful new unit, Sid, along with a new corrupted stage, Battle Pass-related rewards, new gear changes, and several other additions. The main attraction, though, is definitely Sid and his different versions.
In this guide, I’ll go through how to obtain Sid, evolve and upgrade him, roll his stats and traits, and test out how strong he actually is. I’ll also cover his abilities, the new map, his quest requirements, and the other important additions from the update.
I managed to get the 0.1% Superior Sid and put him through the new Corruption Stage to see what he could do. So, if you’re trying to build the strongest version of Sid, here’s everything you need to know.

Anime Squadrons Superior CID Gudie – How to unlock
Sid is obtained through the new Corruption Stage, which was added with this update.
You can find the Corruption Stage NPC in the lobby. Once you enter the stage, you’ll have a chance to obtain Sid, with the featured drop having a 0.25% chance according to the in-game display.
The update also includes several different versions of Sid, including:
• Basic Sid
• Divine Sid

• Shiny Sid
• Shiny Divine Sid
• Serialized Sid
• Serialized Divine Sid
So, there are several versions to collect if you’re aiming for the rarest possible Sid.
How to Get the 0.1% Superior Trait
After obtaining Sid, you can work on getting his rare trait.
Head over to the trait reroll section and select Sid. From there, you can use the auto-reroll system to continue rolling for the trait you want.
The Superior trait has a 0.1% chance, making it extremely rare. You’ll want to take advantage of pity and any available resources to increase your chances of eventually landing it.
I managed to get the Superior trait early, which made the Sid showcase even more interesting.
Awaken Sid
Once you have Sid and the required materials, you can head over to the Awakening section.

Select Sid and use the materials you’ve collected to awaken him. After awakening, you’ll be able to continue improving his stats and abilities.
His initial stats aren’t necessarily amazing, but you can reroll them afterward to build him specifically for the role you want.
Best Stats for Sid
Since Sid is primarily a DPS unit, I recommend focusing your stat rolls around damage.
The main stats I focused on were:
• Damage

• Cooldown
• Range
Damage should be your biggest priority because Sid can already deal huge amounts of damage once his abilities and shadows start stacking.
If you have Perfect Stat Cubes available, you can use them to target the stats you want instead of relying entirely on random rolls.
Level Up Sid
After setting up his stats, you’ll want to feed XP into Sid and level him up.

I used the available resources to get him to Level 50 before testing him properly.
Once he’s leveled, equip him onto your team and check his leader stats and passive abilities before taking him into the new stage.
Sid’s Abilities and Passives
Sid’s kit revolves heavily around his shadows.
One of his main passives allows him to summon a shadow every 12 seconds. These shadows fight independently and can help Sid build up his damage.
The shadows copy a portion of Sid’s stats, including:

• 20% of the damage
• 20% of the HP
Sid can have up to 8 active shadows.
This is one of the most interesting parts of his kit because the shadows aren’t simply cosmetic. They actively contribute to his combat performance.
Shadow Damage and Critical Chance
Sid also gets stronger as more shadows remain active.
For every active shadow, his shadows gain:
• 5% damage
• 2% critical chance
With multiple shadows active at once, these bonuses can add up quickly.
This means you’ll generally want to keep your shadows alive and active instead of constantly losing them.
I Am Atomic Passive
Sid also has an ability called I Am Atomic.
Whenever he casts his ultimate while having 5 or more shadows, his shadows permanently gain 0.5% ultimate damage.
The progress is retained between games, which makes this ability particularly interesting.
The bonus can eventually reach a maximum of 75% ultimate damage.
So, the more you use Sid across different games while meeting the shadow requirement, the stronger this part of his kit becomes.
Shadow Explosion Ability
Another powerful part of Sid’s kit allows him to pull all active shadows back into himself and detonate them.
The explosion deals 300% damage, plus an additional 80% damage for each consumed shadow.
This ability requires Upgrade 4.
Because the damage scales with the number of shadows consumed, you’ll want to build up several shadows before using it to get the most value from the explosion.
Testing Sid in the Corruption Stage
After setting up Sid, I took him into the new Corruption Stage to see how he performed.
Before testing him, I removed some of the other upgrades and focused on Sid so I could get a better idea of his individual performance.
The Corruption Stage also features enemies with huge HP pools, making it a good place to see what Sid can really do.
Sid’s Damage
Even without relying heavily on additional buffs, Sid was already dealing impressive damage.
During the test, his damage progressed through several levels, eventually reaching around 127K damage every 1.8 seconds without his additional buffs.
Once his shadows and other bonuses started stacking, his damage became much higher.
At one point, Sid was hitting for around 489K damage, which was absolutely crazy to see.
Another test showed him around 485K damage, demonstrating just how much his shadow-based bonuses can increase his output.
Sid’s Critical Stats
Sid also has strong critical stats.
During the showcase, he reached around:
• 108% Critical Damage
• 23% Critical Chance
Combined with his shadow mechanics, these stats can make him extremely powerful against bosses and other high-HP enemies.
The permanent ultimate progression also means his performance can continue improving over multiple games.
Sid’s Attack Type
Sid uses a line AoE attack.
The AoE line itself is fairly narrow, so positioning is important. You won’t get the same wide coverage that some other units provide.
However, his raw damage and shadow mechanics help compensate for the smaller attack area.
Sid’s Boss Performance
Sid performed extremely well against the Corruption Stage boss.
During the run, he was able to shred the boss while his shadows continued attacking alongside him.
The player statistics showed around 20 million damage, with Sid and his shadow clones contributing heavily to the total.
Overall, the showcase made it clear that Sid can become an extremely strong DPS unit when properly built.
New Corruption Stage
The update introduces the Corruption Stage, which is also where you can work toward obtaining Sid.
The new map has its own enemies and challenges, making it the main new gameplay area of the update.
If you’re specifically trying to obtain Sid, this is the stage you’ll want to focus on.
Sid Quest Requirements
Sid also has a quest line that you’ll need to work through.
The requirements shown in the update include:
• Summon 1,000 shadows
• Roll a Mythic trait on Sid
• Roll SS stats
• Complete Underground
• Summon 1,000 shadows
Overall, the requirements aren’t too difficult if you’re already actively playing and building Sid.
The biggest time-consuming part will likely be completing the required shadow summons and getting the desired trait and stats.
Other New Units
The update isn’t only about the standard Sid.
You can also collect his rarer variants, including:
• Divine Sid
• Shiny Sid
• Shiny Divine Sid
• Serialized Sid
• Serialized Divine Sid
If you’re a collector or want the strongest possible version, these variants give you additional goals to work toward.
New Game Pass Voucher
A new Game Pass Voucher has also been added.
This is a particularly interesting item because it can potentially provide another way to obtain Game Pass-related rewards.
Hopefully, this system gets expanded in future updates and becomes even more useful.
New Shadow Items
The update also adds new Shadow-themed items, including the Shadow Core and a Sword Made of Shadow.
These fit into the new Sid and Shadow theme and give you additional items to collect alongside the new unit.
Gear Improvements
Gear has received several changes in this update.
The developers have added a search function to gear, making it easier to find specific equipment when you have a large inventory.
There was also a fix for incorrect stats being assigned to gear, along with a reworked gear equipment system.
These changes should make managing your equipment considerably easier.
Awakening Search
A search feature has also been added to the Awakenings menu.
This is another small quality-of-life improvement that becomes especially useful once you’ve collected a large number of units.
Instead of scrolling through everything manually, you can search for the unit you’re looking for.
New Shops and Codes
The update also brings new shops and new codes.
Make sure you check the available shops and redeem any active codes you have access to, as these can provide useful resources for progressing through the update.
Overall, this is a pretty focused but powerful update for Anime Squadrons.
The biggest addition is obviously Sid, especially his rare 0.1% Superior trait version. His entire kit revolves around summoning and stacking shadows, and his damage can become ridiculous once those bonuses start building up.
The fact that his ultimate progression can carry between games makes him even more interesting for long-term players. Add in his Divine, Shiny, and Serialized variants, and there’s plenty to grind for.
The new Corruption Stage, Game Pass Voucher, Shadow items, gear improvements, Awakening search, new shops, and other quality-of-life changes round out the update.
If you’re playing Anime Squadrons right now, Sid is definitely worth checking out and building around.
