Anime Vanguards Update 14.5 Part 3 Tier List – Best Units

Anime Vanguards Update 14.5 Part 3 is here, and with it comes another shake-up to the current meta. The update adds the new Holy Deceiver Dark, giving players another powerful unit to consider when building their teams.

In this guide, I’ll go through the current units and break them down into four main categories: Support, Sub DPS, Meta DPS, and Must-Have. The goal isn’t simply to decide which units deal the biggest numbers, but to look at how much value they actually bring to a complete team.

I’ll also take a closer look at the new Holy Deceiver Dark and explain where I currently think it belongs after testing it. Keep in mind that tier lists can change quickly whenever units are buffed, nerfed, or replaced by something stronger, so consider this the current ranking for Update 14.5 Part 3.

Before getting into the individual tiers, I want to explain how I’m looking at these units.

A unit being placed in the Support or Sub DPS category doesn’t automatically mean that it is bad. In fact, some support units can be more valuable to your team than simply adding another damage dealer.

Anime Vanguards isn’t a game where you can always throw six DPS units onto the map and expect the best results.

A strong team needs damage, crowd control, utility, support, and good overall synergy.

Because of that, I’m judging units based on how much value they provide to a complete team, rather than looking only at their maximum damage number.

The Support tier is where I would place units that are mainly valuable because of their utility rather than being your primary damage dealers.

Some examples include Newsman, Smith, Anger, Humir, and Hibano.

These aren’t usually the characters you’re building your entire team around. Instead, they help your main carries perform better.

That’s an important distinction.

A unit that provides excellent support can sometimes contribute more to a team than another mediocre DPS unit would.

Cursed Warrior is still a useful specialist.

While it isn’t necessarily competing with the strongest pure DPS characters, its utility makes it worth considering in the right team.

Units such as Toji and Alucard Vampire King are particularly useful because of their crowd-control capabilities.

These characters can provide strong control while still bringing plenty of value to a team.

Overall, I would describe this tier as situational but useful.

Don’t look at Support and assume the units are bad. Their value simply comes from something other than raw DPS.

The next category is Sub DPS.

This is where units become much easier to fit into a normal team because they can contribute legitimate damage while still offering additional utility.

The main issue is that they generally lack something compared with the monsters at the top of the current meta.

For example, a Sub DPS unit might have:

• Lower overall scaling

• Weaker AoE

• Worse cost efficiency

• Less utility

• Lower damage potential

• A more restrictive role

That doesn’t make these units bad. It simply means that there are usually stronger choices available when you have access to the best units.

Divine General Adaptation is a good example of why Sub DPS doesn’t mean useless.

This unit can still put in serious work and contribute meaningful damage to a team.

If you don’t have all of the top meta units, a character like this can still be a very strong option.

Other units placed around this section include:

• Dave

• Yamasoto

• Divine General

• Takamura

• Allure

• Agency Shinobi

• Alucard

• Reaper

These units can all contribute to a team, but they generally don’t offer the same combination of damage, scaling, utility, and efficiency that you get from the highest-ranked characters.

Now we’re getting into the more important part of the list: the Meta DPS tier.

These are the units that are genuinely strong and can play an important role in optimized teams.

Some of the notable units in this category include:

• Roku Super 3

• Goblin Killer

• Smith John

• Reckless Gambler Curse

• Yhova Almighty

• Savior Moonless

• Shinobi Sage Friendship

• Other high-performing meta units

These are the characters that I would feel comfortable recommending to players who are looking for serious DPS options.

Reckless Gambler Curse remains one of the stronger units in the current meta.

What makes a character like this valuable isn’t just the damage number you see on the screen.

You also need to consider how well the unit fits into an optimized team.

A unit can have huge damage but still be less useful if it requires extremely specific conditions to work.

Reckless Gambler Curse continues to perform well because of the combination of damage and team value it brings.

Savior Moonless is another unit that has previously been considered one of the strongest choices.

However, after the nerfs, I would currently place it in the Meta DPS category rather than the absolute top tier.

It’s still a strong unit, but it doesn’t have quite the same position it once had.

At the very top of the list is the Must-Have category.

This isn’t simply about asking whether these units are good.

At this level, I’m asking:

How much stronger does my account become if I own this unit?

That’s the real difference between a strong Meta DPS unit and a Must-Have unit.

The Must-Have characters are the monsters of the current meta. If you have one of these units properly built, they can make a huge difference to your account.

One of the top placements is Today’s Strongest, which sits among the strongest units available right now.

This is the kind of unit that provides tremendous offensive value and is easy to justify putting into an optimized team.

Goblin Killer Romantic is another absolute monster.

At this level of the tier list, we’re no longer really comparing “good” versus “bad.”

Instead, we’re comparing broken versus slightly more broken.

That is how strong the units at the top can be.

Roku Super 3 is another unit I would put right at the top.

It provides insane offensive value without requiring an overly specific situation to justify its team slot.

That’s something I personally value a lot when making an overall tier list.

A unit that can simply come into your team and perform extremely well in a wide range of situations is incredibly valuable.

Brisket also belongs among the strongest units.

Its DPS is extremely high, and it deserves a spot alongside the other top-tier monsters.

If you have access to Brisket and have invested properly into it, you have a very powerful option for your team.

The biggest question surrounding Update 14.5 Part 3 is obviously the new Holy Deceiver Dark.

Since this is a brand-new unit, I wouldn’t immediately place it above every established meta unit just because it is new.

After testing it, though, I think it has some serious potential.

The unit has:

• 4,000 base damage

• 6-second SPA

• 20 range

Those are already impressive numbers to work with.

At the moment, I would place Holy Deceiver Dark somewhere between Meta DPS and Must-Have.

I’m not quite ready to put it firmly into the Must-Have category yet, but it has enough potential that I could see it moving there.

That’s especially important because the unit is brand new.

As players spend more time testing it, discovering better upgrades, finding optimal placements, and working out its best team combinations, its position could change.

For now, I think Meta DPS with Must-Have potential is the safest placement.

One thing I would strongly recommend is not panicking just because a new unit has been released.

If you already own a fully invested Meta DPS unit, it can still be extremely valuable.

You shouldn’t automatically throw away an established character just to build a brand-new unit that you haven’t properly invested in yet.

A fully upgraded meta unit can easily outperform an unfinished new unit.

So, before replacing one of your current carries, consider:

• How well is your current unit upgraded?

• How much investment have you already put into it?

• What does the new unit actually add?

• Does the new unit fit your team better?

• Can you afford to fully build the new character?

If the answer to those questions isn’t clear, there is no reason to immediately abandon your current team.

Based on the current meta discussed in this guide, I would break the units into these general groups:

• Today’s Strongest

• Goblin Killer Romantic

• Roku Super 3

• Brisket

• Reckless Gambler Curse

• Savior Moonless

• Yhova Almighty

• Other established meta DPS units

Anime Vanguards Update 14.5 Part 3 has added another interesting option to the meta with Holy Deceiver Dark.

The biggest thing to remember when using this tier list is that the rankings aren’t based purely on damage. A unit’s real value comes from how much it improves your overall team and how consistently you can use its strengths.

The current Must-Have units are still extremely powerful, with Today’s Strongest, Goblin Killer Romantic, Roku Super 3, and Brisket sitting among the biggest monsters in the game.

Holy Deceiver Dark is the interesting new addition. With 4,000 base damage, a 6-second SPA, and 20 range, it has the numbers to compete with the strongest units. For now, I’d keep it around the upper Meta DPS/Must-Have border until more testing gives us a clearer picture.

And if you already have a fully invested meta unit, don’t feel pressured to replace it immediately. A new unit being released doesn’t automatically make your old unit useless. Build what works for your account, and only make the switch when the new character actually gives you more value.
