Getting Vanguard Ichigo sounds simple at first… until you actually start the grind. The game barely explains anything properly, and most players end up stuck on one of the steps without realizing what they’re doing wrong.
After going through it myself, here’s the clean, no-confusion way to evolve Ichigo—plus a few shortcuts that save you a lot of time.
Anime Vanguards Vanguard Ichigo Evolution Guide
You need three things ready:
- Ichigo (from banner)
- His first evolution completed
- Hollow Mask (from Underworld Dungeon, ~10% drop)
That mask is the key. No mask = no questline.
Step 1 – Destroy 20 Soul Towers (Fast Method)
This is the first real grind—and where most players waste hours.
Inside the dungeon, you’ll see Soul Towers (Soul Collectors).
Your objective: destroy 20 towers.
Fastest method (don’t skip this):
- Enter dungeon
- Break the tower
- Leave immediately
- Repeat
You don’t need to finish the run.
Once I started doing this, what felt like a long grind turned into something you can finish pretty quickly.
Step 2 – Sacrifice Evolved Aizen
Now comes the painful part.
You need:
- New Aizen (Deceiver)
- Fully evolved
Then:
- Sacrifice him to the mask
No shortcuts here.
If you haven’t prepared Aizen earlier, this step will slow you down hard. That’s why most players feel stuck—it’s not hard, just poorly timed.
Step 3 – Find the Correct Sword (RNG Step)
This step feels weird the first time.
- Use the mask (it should teleport you)
- Enter the special map
- Interact with swords
Only one is correct.
There’s no trick—it’s pure RNG.
Sometimes you get it instantly.
Sometimes you’re clicking swords for a while.
Just keep going—it’s not as bad as it sounds.
Step 4 – Sacrifice 30 Mythics
Final step, and yeah… it’s heavy.
You need:
- 30 Mythic units (or higher)
If you’ve been playing for a while, you probably have extras.
If not, this is where you’ll feel the grind.
Best advice:
Start saving duplicates early instead of rushing this step later.
Once all steps are done:
- Your mask becomes Completed Mask
- Go to evolution
- Select Ichigo
- Use mask + materials
And that’s it—you’ve got Vanguard Ichigo.
How To Get Ichigo’s Secret Memorial
This part is easy but easy to miss.
To unlock it:
- Put Ichigo in your team
- Enter a match
- Use his Mugetsu / revive ability
Once triggered, you’ll unlock the Memorial.
No grind here—you just need to know it exists.
