This rarity rework is important because it changes where several popular styles sit within the overall progression system.

NEL Season System

The NEL 2.5 Season System is another major addition.

You can now sign a contract to start your season and choose a position. Your selected position determines the quests you receive throughout the season.

A season lasts between 5 and 15 games.

The system uses your actual games rather than custom matchmaking to track your progress, meaning your normal matches contribute toward your seasonal progression.

Season Ladder

As you complete your objectives and perform well, you can climb through several ranks:

• Bench

• Starter

• World-Class Talent

• Team Emperor

Higher ranks provide better seasonal rewards.

This gives players another progression system to work toward beyond simply collecting and upgrading styles.

Team Ladder Quests

Team Ladder Quests are another part of the new seasonal system.

These quests:

• Reset daily after completion.

• Need to be completed twice to unlock the next set.

• Give increasingly better rewards as you progress.

• Restart if you switch teams.

Because changing teams resets your quest progression, it’s worth choosing your team carefully before committing to the ladder.

Legendary Style Balance Changes

Several Legendary styles have received balance adjustments.

King / Barou

King received multiple changes:

• Predator Shot distance reduced by 12.5%.

• Feast distance reduced from 520m to 200m.

• Twisted Path distance increased by 25%.

• Twisted Path now arcs instead of staying close to the floor.

These changes significantly alter how some of King’s shots behave.

Hiori

• Linked Pass range increased by 12%.

This gives Hiori a useful improvement to his passing ability.

Bachira

• Overall balance adjustments were made.

Nagi

• I Am Nagi shot distance reduced by 15%.

Kiyora

Kiyora received several nerfs:

• Backspin Accelerating Shot distance and speed reduced by 15%.

• Its cooldown increased from 35 to 40 seconds.

• Borderline Pass distance reduced by 10%.

Ness

• Illusion Cross distance reduced by 10%.

• Cooldown increased from 30 to 40 seconds.

Mythic Style Balance Changes

Mythic styles also received major adjustments.

Shidou

Shidou’s abilities were reduced in several areas:

• Dragon Header distance reduced by 25%.

• Demon Drive distance reduced by 15%.

• Demon Drive can no longer be used mid-air.

These changes reduce Shidou’s mobility and ability range.

• Stealthy Steps cooldown increased from 40 to 50 seconds.

• Neo Gyro Shot distance reduced by 17.5%.

• Neo Dragon Drive distance reduced by 12.5%.

• Chameleon Volley distance reduced by 20%.

• Chameleon Volley speed increased by 12%.

So while some of Reo’s ranges were reduced, Chameleon Volley received a speed improvement.

Aiku

• Total Clearance hitbox reduced by 40%.

This makes the timing and positioning of the move more important.

Charles

Charles received major range reductions:

• Sky Arc Pass range reduced by 27.5%.

• Contrarian Pass range reduced by 45%.

• Dartboard Lens now lasts 10 seconds.

• Street Dribbling distance reduced by 15%.

• Benischuss distance reduced by 40%.

• Magnus distance reduced by 30%.

• Lorenzo received general balance adjustments.

Master Class Changes

• Distance reduced by 12.5%.

• Speed increased by 5%.

Direct Shot

• Distance reduced by 5%.

• Speed increased by 10%.

Adaptive Win

• Distance reduced by 40%.

• Speed increased by 10%.

Meta Burst / Side Step

• Cooldown reduced from 40 to 32.5 seconds.

So although several of NEL Isagi’s ranges were reduced, some of his abilities became faster and his Meta Burst/Side Step cooldown was improved.

Rin Improvements

Rin also received a separate set of improvements.

Base Rin

• Missing sound effects have been added.

Rin Awakening

Several awakening improvements were made:

• Awakening cutscene impact frames were fixed.

• The Flow requirement was removed from Center Of Gravity.

• New anime sound effects were added to Kill Shot.

• Subtitles were added with a new icon.

These changes don’t completely overhaul Rin’s kit, but they should make his awakening feel more polished and easier to follow.

Cutscene and Outfit Fixes

The update also fixes numerous visual problems involving cutscenes and character outfits.

Fixes include:

• Aiku — Serpent Wall

• NEL Chigiri — 44° Red Panther Snipe

• Gingerbread Charles — Monster Blast

• Hiori — Awakening

• NEL Isagi — Adaptive Win and Awakening

• Karasu — Raven Awakening

• King — Feast and Twisted Path

• Kiyora — Backline Accelerating Pass

• Nagi — Awakening

• NEL Nagi — Effortless Miracle and Awakening

• Raichi — Matchup Victory

• Reo/NEL Reo — Awakening and offensive mode

• Rin — Destroyers Dribble

• Yukimiya — missing jersey after Awakening

• Krampus Barou — Isagi rig

• Grey rigs during the starting match introduction

These fixes should make the game’s cutscenes and character appearances look much more consistent.

New Ubers Takeover

The developers have also revealed a new Ubers Takeover trailer.

This appears to be setting up additional content connected to the Ubers side of Blue Lock Rivals.

The developers also mentioned that some of the balance changes may be adjusted after the update based on player feedback and polls.

That means the current balance should not necessarily be considered final.

The NEL 2.5 update is much more than a simple balance patch. The new Season System gives players a fresh progression path, while the rarity rework changes the way many popular styles are categorized.

At the same time, numerous Legendary, Mythic, World-Class, Master Class, and NEL styles have received significant balance changes. Players who rely on styles such as Shidou, Reo, Charles, Yukimiya, Kaiser, Loki, or Lavinho will especially need to adjust to the new ranges and cooldowns.

The update also improves Rin, fixes a large number of outfit and cutscene problems, and sets the stage for the upcoming Ubers Takeover. If you want to make the most of NEL 2.5, start your season, choose your position carefully, complete the ladder quests, and test your main styles before jumping back into serious matches. :::
