Dudung Universe Beginner Guide – Trello & Wiki Link

If you’re jumping into Dudung Universe for the first time, the game can feel a bit chaotic. There are multiple islands, gacha systems, bosses, trading, fruits, enchantments, and rare weapons scattered all over the map. Nothing is handed to you with traditional quests, so most players wander around without really knowing what they should prioritize first.

This guide breaks down the early progression path, important NPCs, islands, systems, and the process of unlocking the powerful Shadow sword in a clear way. Think of this as the route a new player should follow to avoid wasting time.

Spawn Island – Your First Stop

The moment you spawn, you start on the main island, and this place actually has several systems that new players often overlook.

Right near the spawn area you’ll notice a wish shrine. If you join the game’s Roblox group, you can interact with this shrine and make a wish. The reward is random — sometimes you’ll get gems, items, or other useful resources. It’s not guaranteed to give something valuable, but it’s worth checking every time you log in.

Nearby you’ll also find two important NPCs:

  • Gacha NPC
  • Trade NPC

The gacha system is where you roll for special items like orbs and abilities. Some banners feature rare items such as Hakari Orb and other limited rewards. If you’re chasing specific builds or abilities, this is where you’ll be spending most of your gems.

The trade system lets players reroll their traits. Traits determine buffs like extra sword damage, crit rate, and damage bonuses. The rarities include:

  • Common
  • Rare
  • Legendary
  • Mythic
  • Divine

Divine traits are extremely rare but can give massive damage boosts, making them highly desirable for late-game builds.

Beginner Combat Style and Starter Katana

Early in the game you can obtain a basic fighting style like Itadori.

Even though it’s considered a common style, it’s actually solid for beginners. The attacks include:

  • Basic punches with decent damage
  • A combo skill that hits multiple times
  • An AoE attack that works well against groups

Alongside that, you can also buy the starter katana.

It’s not the strongest weapon in the game, but it gives you two early abilities that help with combat:

  • A forward slash projectile
  • A stronger single slash attack

For a while, this sword will be enough to handle early enemies.

Rank System and Reputation

Another mechanic beginners miss is the rank system.

Ranks increase your overall progression bonuses. When you rank up, you gain improved rewards like:

  • Increased XP gains
  • Higher money rewards

But ranking up requires large resources such as:

  • Millions of reputation
  • Large amounts of money
  • Thousands of gems

Reputation mainly increases by defeating players or bosses, so PvE farming and boss fights slowly push your rank forward.

Jungle Island – First Upgrade Area

Once you leave the starter island, the next destination is Jungle Island.

There are a few NPCs here offering useful upgrades. One of them allows you to unlock a combat ability using a Flame Orb and money.

Another NPC sells color rerolls, letting you customize visual effects.

The island itself isn’t packed with major systems, but it does include enemies and a boss that you can farm for early resources.

Think of it more as a transition zone while you gather money and gems.

Clown Island – Enchantments and Event Farming

Clown Island introduces one of the most important systems in the game: enchanting.

Here you can enchant:

  • Weapons
  • Fighting styles
  • Special abilities

To enchant something, you need Enchant Stones, which drop from enemies and bosses in the Desert area.

There’s also a rarer item called Super Enchant Stone, which can only be purchased from a wandering merchant NPC that appears randomly across the map every few minutes.

When that merchant appears, always check what he’s selling. Sometimes he offers Boss Tickets, which are incredibly valuable.

Relic Event – Best Gem Farm

Clown Island also hosts a limited Relic Event.

Enemies here drop Relic Tokens, which can be exchanged for gift boxes. These gifts can contain random rewards including:

  • Gems
  • Money
  • Items

The best reward tier can drop up to 25,000 gems, which makes this one of the most efficient farming methods currently available.

Many players simply stay here AFK farming tokens for long periods.

Desert Island – Observation Ability

The Desert introduces the Observation skill, which costs around 500,000 gems.

Observation allows your character to automatically dodge incoming attacks, increasing survivability in boss fights. Players can stack multiple dodge charges, making this ability extremely valuable later in the game.

The Desert is also where you start farming materials for one of the strongest base swords.

Night Blade – One of the Best Base Swords

The sword often referred to as Night Blade (called Ouro in some translations) is considered one of the strongest standard weapons.

To craft it, you need:

  • Monkey drops from Jungle enemies
  • Enchanted materials dropped by bosses

Once obtained, the sword gives you powerful abilities including wide slash attacks and a large AoE strike.

The damage and area coverage make it perfect for farming mobs quickly.

Wandering Merchant

Every few minutes a wandering merchant NPC appears somewhere on the map.

He sells random items such as:

  • Boss tickets
  • Rare materials
  • Special resources

Boss tickets are particularly important because they allow you to spawn bosses without spending gems or money, which speeds up farming significantly.

Whenever the merchant appears, it’s worth tracking him down.

Mini Echo Island

Mini Echo Island contains special enemies known as Hollows and other power systems related to character abilities.

However, this area mainly becomes relevant when you start exploring power lineages and advanced combat mechanics, so most beginners only pass through it while leveling.

Abandoned Altar – Dragon Summon and Dungeon Rewards

This island introduces two interesting systems.

First is the dragon summon system. Players can collect special balls hidden under trees and use them to summon a dragon boss.

The second system involves dungeon tokens.

Completing dungeons rewards tokens that can be exchanged for a special weapon called Mets Blade. It requires around 250 dungeon tokens, meaning players need to grind dungeons repeatedly.

Fruits System

The game also includes several fruits, each granting different powers.

Some of the known fruits include:

  • Invisible Fruit
  • Barrier Fruit
  • Bomb Fruit
  • Dark Fruit
  • Odor Fruit

Fruits are obtained through gacha rolls, so it mostly comes down to luck. Among them, Odor Fruit is considered one of the best because it improves movement and mobility.

Boss Island – Boss Farming

Boss Island is where players can spawn bosses manually.

Bosses can be summoned using:

  • Boss tickets
  • Gems
  • Money

Higher difficulty settings increase the chance of rare drops. For example, playing on higher difficulty can multiply drop chances several times.

This island becomes your main farming location when you start hunting rare gear.

How to Get the Shadow Sword (Cid Sword)

One of the most powerful weapons in the game is the Shadow Sword, inspired by the character Cid Kagenou.

The boss that drops the materials appears in Named City during nighttime.

The boss can drop:

  • Shadow Orb (around 2% drop chance)
  • Trash Bag Mask

However, obtaining the sword requires several preparation steps.

Step 1 – Craft the Crowbar Sword

Before getting the Shadow sword, you must craft the Crowbar sword.

Required materials include:

  • Chrombar drop from boss
  • Tug Mask drop
  • 10 Iron

Both materials are dropped by bosses in the Named City area.

Step 2 – Upgrade to Steel Short Sword

After crafting the Crowbar, you upgrade it into the Steel Short Sword.

This version unlocks three abilities and deals significantly more damage.

It requires additional materials including:

  • Tug Mask
  • Chrombar
  • Extra resources from bosses

Step 3 – Craft the Shadow Sword

Finally, you can craft the Shadow Sword once you obtain:

  • Shadow Orb from the Cid boss
  • Steel Short Sword

Return to the crafting area on the starter island and combine these materials.

Shadow Sword Skills Showcase

The Shadow Sword is extremely powerful and comes with multiple abilities:

Z Skill
A ranged slash attack dealing around 9k damage.

X Skill
A wider area slash capable of hitting multiple enemies.

C Skill
A heavy power strike with strong burst damage.

V Skill – Atomic Attack
A massive explosion attack dealing up to 30k–40k damage depending on scaling.

F Skill
Another high-damage ability used as a finishing move.

Overall, this weapon is considered one of the strongest damage options in the game.
