If you’re trying to complete a quest in Fisch, you’ve probably come across one that asks for a fish with the Husk Mutation. At first, it can be confusing because it’s not a mutation you’ll naturally come across while fishing like many others.

The good news is that getting the Husk Mutation is pretty straightforward once you know what item you need. The bad news? It requires quite a bit of preparation before you can even start farming it.

Here’s everything you need to know.

The Husk Mutation changes the appearance of a fish, giving it a light brown, translucent look that makes it easy to recognise.

While it has a unique visual style, it isn’t considered a profitable mutation.

• Changes the fish’s appearance to a light brown, transparent colour.

• Reduces the fish’s sell value.

• Sell value multiplier: 0.14x

Because it significantly lowers the value of your catch, Husk is generally only worth obtaining when a quest or objective specifically requires it.

The only way to obtain the Husk Mutation is by using Requiem.

Whenever you fish while using Requiem, your catches have a:

20% chance of receiving the Husk Mutation.

That means you’ll usually get a Husk fish within a few attempts, although luck can always make it take longer.

Before you can craft Requiem, you’ll need to meet one important requirement.

Requiem crafting is locked until your character reaches Level 1,000.

Once you’ve reached the required level, head to the Ancient Archives, where the crafting station is located.

To craft one Requiem, you’ll need the following materials:

• 5× Requiescence

• 1× Requiem Core

• 1× Awakened Omnithol

• 1× Fossilized Plesiosaur

After collecting every material, craft Requiem at the Ancient Archives.

The Requiem Core is obtained from the Magical Diver.

Make sure you’ve completed the necessary requirements to earn the core before attempting to craft Requiem.

Once you’ve crafted Requiem, the process becomes much easier.

For the fastest results:

• Equip and use Requiem.

• Continue fishing until the mutation appears.

• Remember that each catch has a 20% chance of becoming a Husk fish.

• Keep fishing until you get the species or quest requirement you need.

Since the chance is fairly generous, most players won’t need an excessive number of attempts.

The Husk Mutation isn’t designed to help you earn more money—it’s mainly a quest-focused mutation. To obtain it, you’ll first need to reach Level 1,000, gather the required crafting materials, and create Requiem at the Ancient Archives. Once you’re using Requiem, every fish you catch has a 20% chance of receiving the Husk Mutation.

If you’re only hunting Husk for a quest, don’t worry too much about the reduced sell value. Simply catch the required fish, complete your objective, and then switch back to more profitable mutations for your regular fishing sessions.
