Fisch Microphone Rod Guide (Quest + Requirements)

The Microphone Rod is one of those secret “mini-update” rewards in Fisch that most players never discover on their own. There’s no big announcement, no obvious quest marker, and even the NPC that starts it looks easy to ignore unless you already know he’s important.

Despite that, this is actually one of the easiest free rods you can unlock, and the entire questline is more about following specific steps than dealing with difficult fishing challenges.

Here’s the complete step-by-step guide to getting the Microphone Rod.

Step 1 — Start the Quest at Moosewood

To begin, head to Moosewood and look for a Twitch Viewer NPC. He’s the one who gives the streamer-themed questline tied to the rod.

When you talk to him, he’ll ask you to collect three specific items:

  • Puffer Fish
  • Mushroom Crab
  • Rubber Ducky

You must obtain all three before the quest progresses.

Step 2 — How to Get Each Required Item

Catching the Puffer Fish

This is the easiest part. Puffer Fish spawn in common fishing areas around Moosewood waters. You usually won’t need special bait or long farming sessions to get one.

Most players catch it quickly just by fishing normally in the nearby ocean.

Getting the Mushroom Crab

This item cannot be caught with a rod. Instead, you need to use crab cages in Mushrove.

Place crab cages in the Mushrove area and wait for them to complete. Once they finish, check the cages and you should eventually obtain the Mushroom Crab.

This step depends mostly on timing rather than skill.

Finding the Rubber Ducky

The Rubber Ducky requires fishing inside a Strange Whirlpool event.

You need to wait until a whirlpool spawns, then fish directly inside it. Once you do, you have a chance to catch the Rubber Ducky.

This is usually the longest step because it depends on event timing.

Step 3 — Go to the Hidden Island Puzzle

After turning in all three items, the NPC will tell you to find a secret location.

Travel behind Moosewood toward a small hidden island. On this island, you’ll find three statues.

Each statue requires one of the quest items:

  • One takes the Puffer Fish
  • One takes the Rubber Ducky
  • One takes the Mushroom Crab

Once all three are placed, a hidden entrance will open.

Step 4 — Enter the Streamer Hideout

Inside the secret area, you’ll encounter the next part of the quest.

Here, you need to catch a special fish called the Clout Carp.

Important: You cannot do this alone. You must have another player inside the area with you before fishing will work.

This is a hidden requirement that confuses many players.

Once caught, the next section unlocks.

Step 5 — Repair the Streamer Equipment Puzzle

Inside the final room, you need to repair a broken router by finding:

  • Loose cables
  • Missing dials

These items are scattered around the room. You must locate all required parts before interacting with the router.

Once everything is collected, restart the router to finish the puzzle.

Step 6 — Claim the Microphone Rod

After repairing the equipment, speak to the NPC again and you will receive the Microphone Rod as your reward.

The entire questline ends here.

Microphone Rod Stats and Performance

Here are the rod’s base stats:

  • Lure Speed: 100%
  • Luck: 80%
  • Control: 0
  • Resilience: 30%
  • Max Weight: 200 kg

The rod is designed for fast hooking rather than stability. It lacks control, which means handling difficult fish can be challenging.

However, its extremely high lure speed makes it excellent for quick farming sessions.

Does the Microphone Rod Have Special Effects?

The rod does not appear to have strong passive bonuses, but it can provide certain fish mutations. These are situational and not always consistent, which is why many players consider it more of a collection rod than a meta fishing tool.

Its main value comes from its speed and unique theme.

Is the Microphone Rod Worth Getting?

Since the quest is relatively short and requires no difficult boss fights, it’s absolutely worth unlocking. Even if you don’t plan to use it regularly, it’s still a free rod with good speed stats and a unique design.

For collectors, it’s especially valuable because secret quest rods often become rare over time.

The Microphone Rod quest is one of Fisch’s better hidden side activities. It combines fishing, exploration, multiplayer interaction, and a small puzzle sequence without being overly complicated.

As long as you follow each step in order and remember to bring another player for the Clout Carp section, you can complete the entire quest fairly quickly and add a unique rod to your collection.
