Fisch Sei Whale Migration Hunt Update – Celestial Rod Mastery

The newest Fisch update adds a new whale hunt, another Rod Mastery to work toward, new Crew rankings, and several useful quality-of-life changes.

In this guide, I’ll go over everything important that was added, including the Sei Whale Migration Hunt, the Celestial Rod Mastery, the new Crimson Tides surfboard, and the latest changes you should know about.

There are quite a few smaller fixes included as well, so I’ll cover those at the end. If you’re jumping back into Fisch after the update, this should give you a quick overview of what you need to check out first.

The biggest addition in this update is the new Sei Whale Migration Hunt.

Sei Whales can now appear during Windy Nights, giving you another special fishing encounter to look out for.

The whales swim close to the surface, so you’ll want to pay attention when the right weather and time conditions are active.

However, catching one isn’t necessarily easy.

Once you hook a Sei Whale, it can suddenly speed away when it becomes worried. You’ll therefore need to stay prepared and react properly during the fight instead of assuming the whale will stay in one place.

If you’re hunting for the new whale, keep an eye out for Windy Nights and be ready to fish when the migration appears.

Crews have also received a new ranking system.

You can now find new statues near the Crew Herald that showcase the top crews across several categories.

The rankings track:

• Total Catches

• Rarest Catch

• Crew Rating

• Biggest Fish

This gives crews another reason to compete with each other throughout the month.

Top-performing crews can also earn exclusive engraved monthly bobber trophies, giving you something special to show off after finishing at the top of a ranking.

The Sunshell Merchant has received a new item called the Crimson Tides surfboard.

You can purchase it by exchanging a fairly large amount of Sunshells.

The surfboard gives you another stylish way to travel around the beach, so if you’ve been saving your Sunshells, this is another item you can work toward.

The Celestial Rod has finally received its own mastery.

This gives players another progression goal to work toward if they already use the rod.

If you’ve been looking for another reason to continue using your Celestial Rod, you can now work toward its mastery and unlock its full progression.

One of the useful quality-of-life changes is that Companion Skins can now be traded.

This gives players more flexibility when it comes to exchanging and collecting these skins.

If you’ve been holding onto extra Companion Skins, it’s now worth checking whether you can trade them with other players.

The update also changes what happens when the game shuts down for an update.

Previously, you could be sent back through the title screen. Now, you should be returned to your previous location after the update instead.

This makes the process much smoother because you don’t have to go through the title screen and reposition yourself every time the server shuts down for an update.

Private servers also get a useful improvement.

Things such as active events and weather can now persist when the server shuts down for an update.

This should make private-server sessions less disruptive when an update occurs.

Another useful change affects Lullaby buffs.

Your Lullaby buffs are no longer lost when you rejoin the game.

There is a limit, though: their duration is now hard-capped at 8 hours.

So you can safely rejoin without immediately losing the buff, but you won’t be able to keep it active indefinitely.

Rotblooms and Witherblooms have also received an important change.

They will no longer despawn simply because nobody is nearby.

This should make collecting and managing these resources more convenient, especially when you’re moving around the world instead of staying in one area.

Several changes were also made to treasure maps and chests.

The update fixes various issues where Treasure Chests weren’t properly appearing.

The Treasure Map cap has also been increased from 25 to 50.

That’s a pretty significant increase if you like collecting maps, giving you much more room before you hit the storage limit.

Wisps have also been significantly sped up when they’re moving toward a Wisp Haunt.

This should make their movement feel much less slow and make the process of getting them to the correct location more convenient.

The Silly Seal’s level scaling has received another fix.

This is one of several smaller fixes included in the update, but it’s useful if you’ve been using or interacting with the Silly Seal and noticed problems with its scaling.

Players on console also get a useful adjustment to the Harpoon Gun minigame.

The PULL buttons now take priority over other buttons during the minigame.

This should make the controls less frustrating and help prevent you from accidentally selecting the wrong interaction.

The Deep Survey Device has also been updated.

Fish that you haven’t discovered in the Bestiary will now appear as “???” when viewed through the device.

This makes it clearer when you’re looking at an undiscovered fish rather than revealing information you haven’t unlocked yet.

The update also fixes an issue involving the Cosmic Relic chance from the Stellar buff.

If you use the Stellar buff and are working toward Cosmic Relics, this fix should make the relevant chance function properly.

The developers have also massively improved the onboarding experience.

This includes various bug fixes and changes intended to make the early-game experience smoother for new players.

So if you’re introducing a friend to Fisch, the beginning of the game should now be easier to understand and navigate.

Finally, there’s a small but useful fix for buying boats.

Purchasing a boat through the Shipwright will no longer immediately close the menu.

This makes buying boats less annoying because you can remain in the menu instead of having it unexpectedly close after making a purchase.
