Grand Blue King’s Punch Guide – How to Get Secret Skill

Published 8 Sept 2026, 7:00 am · 6 min read

King’s Punch is one of the secret skills we can unlock in Grand Blue, but getting it is going to take some serious patience. Unlike regular abilities that you can obtain through normal progression, this one is locked behind a long training quest involving a massive number of punches.

In this post, I will show you how to get King’s Punch in Grand Blue, where you need to go, which NPC starts the quest, and every Sushi Training requirement you need to complete. We will also go through some methods that can make the long punching grind easier.

If you are planning to unlock this powerful secret skill, it is a good idea to know what you are getting into before starting. The final requirement is huge, but with the right setup and a little preparation, you can make the process much more manageable.

Grand Blue King’s Punch Guide – How to Get Secret Skill Fast

The first thing you need to do is travel to Beginner Island and head toward Anchor Town. This is where the King’s Punch progression begins.

Once we reach Anchor Town, head over to the Training Grounds. Here, you need to find an NPC called Sushi. Sushi is responsible for the training quests connected to King’s Punch.

One thing worth remembering is that Sushi may not always show a quest marker above his head. So, if you do not see an exclamation mark, do not immediately assume that something is wrong.

I recommend simply walking up to Sushi and interacting with him. Check through his dialogue, and you should eventually be able to begin the Sushi Training questline.

All Sushi Training Quest Requirements

The King’s Punch progression is divided into five different Sushi Training stages. Each stage requires us to hit the Training Dummy a certain number of times.

Here are all the requirements:

• Sushi Training 1: 100 punches

• Sushi Training 2: 1,000 punches

• Sushi Training 3: 10,000 punches

• Sushi Training 4: 100,000 punches

• Sushi Training 5: 1,000,000 punches

As you can see, the requirements become much bigger as you continue through the questline.

The final stage is where most players will spend the majority of their time. You need to complete an incredible 1,000,000 punches, so manually clicking through the entire grind can take a very long time.

After completing all five Sushi Training quests, you should finally unlock King’s Punch as your reward.

The Fastest Way to Farm King’s Punch

The biggest problem when farming punches is the Training Dummy itself. During the process, it can knock your character backward, which interrupts your attacks and forces you to reposition yourself.

One of the easiest ways to deal with this is by using a Flame Fruit.

Flame gives you a Logia-style effect that can help you avoid normal attacks from the Training Dummy. This makes the training process much smoother because you can stay in position and continue attacking without constantly being pushed away.

If you already have Flame Fruit, I recommend using it before starting the longer Sushi Training stages. You can stand close to the dummy and keep attacking repeatedly.

An auto clicker can also reduce the amount of repetitive clicking required during the grind. Since the quest requires such a huge number of punches, manually clicking every attack can become extremely tiring.

How to Farm King’s Punch Without Flame Fruit

You do not absolutely need Flame Fruit to unlock King’s Punch. We can still complete the entire questline without having a Logia fruit, although it requires more attention.

Without Flame, the knockback from the Training Dummy can interrupt your attacks. A useful method is to use a repeated attack-and-block pattern.

Stand in front of the Training Dummy and perform several punches. When you need to deal with the knockback or incoming attack, use your block and then return to punching.

You simply repeat this process until you finish the required number of hits.

This method is slower and requires more manual effort compared to using Flame Fruit, but it means you do not have to spend time searching for a specific fruit just to begin the King’s Punch grind.

Can You AFK the King’s Punch Quest?

AFK farming is much easier if you have Flame Fruit.

Because the Logia effect helps reduce interruptions from the Training Dummy, you can keep your character near the target and continue attacking for longer periods. Using an auto clicker can make the repetitive punching process easier to maintain.

However, I would still recommend checking your character occasionally. Your farming can stop if your position changes or something interrupts the attack cycle.

Without Flame Fruit, fully AFK farming becomes much more difficult. The Training Dummy can knock your character away and interrupt your punches, meaning the attack cycle may eventually stop.

If you do not have Flame, the safer option is to use the manual attack-and-block method and keep an eye on your character while progressing through the quests.

How Powerful Is King’s Punch?

King’s Punch is designed as a powerful charged attack.

Instead of simply pressing the ability and immediately attacking, you can charge the punch before releasing it. This gives the skill a strong burst-damage role in your build.

When used properly, King’s Punch can deal extremely high damage, making it an interesting ability for players who want a powerful attack for their Grand Blue setup.

The long training requirement is also part of what makes the skill special. You have to put a significant amount of time into completing the Sushi Training progression before you can finally unlock it.

Tips to Get King’s Punch Faster

Before starting the long grind, here are a few things I recommend keeping in mind:

• Start the Sushi Training questline as soon as you are ready.

• Complete every training stage before moving to the next one.

• Use Flame Fruit if you already have access to it.

• An auto clicker can help reduce repetitive clicking.

• Stay positioned directly in front of the Training Dummy.

• Use the attack-and-block method if you do not have Flame.

• Check your character occasionally when farming automatically.

• Keep track of your training progress.

• Prepare yourself for the final 1,000,000 punch requirement.

The most important thing is patience. The earlier training stages are relatively easy, but the numbers quickly become much larger as you progress.

Is King’s Punch Worth the Grind?

Getting King’s Punch in Grand Blue is not particularly difficult because of a complicated boss fight or a confusing hidden location. The real challenge is simply completing the enormous amount of training required.

You need to finish all five Sushi Training stages, with the final stage requiring an incredible 1 million punches. That makes this one of the longer progression grinds for players who want to collect secret skills.

If you have Flame Fruit, the process can be much easier because the Logia effect helps you stay near the Training Dummy without constantly dealing with interruptions.

Players without Flame can still complete everything by using the attack-and-block method, although it will require more attention and patience.

Once you finally finish all five Sushi Training quests, you will unlock King’s Punch and gain access to this powerful secret skill for your Grand Blue build. If you are ready for the grind, head to Anchor Town, find Sushi, and start throwing those punches.
