Heavyweight Fishing Orbs Guide – All Orbs and How to Get

Orbs are another progression system you’ll eventually come across in Heavyweight Fishing. They work as passive buffs that improve your Skills, giving you additional bonuses such as Damage, Cooldown Reduction, Cash Increase, and Drop Chance.

In this Heavyweight Fishing Orbs Guide, I’ll go through all of the currently available Orbs and explain what each one does. I’ll also explain which Skills each Orb works with, because this is something you’ll want to pay attention to before using one.

If you’re just starting out, you don’t need to worry about getting the perfect Orb immediately. I’d recommend focusing on your basic progression first and then starting to experiment with Orbs once you have Skills that can actually take advantage of their bonuses.

Orbs are passive buffs that you can equip on your character to increase the effectiveness of your Skills.

Depending on the Orb, you can get bonuses such as:

• Damage

• Cooldown Reduction

• Cash Increase

• Drop Chance

The important thing to understand is that Orbs are usually tied to specific Skills.

This means you can’t simply equip any Orb and expect it to improve every Skill you have.

Before using an Orb, check which Skill type it supports.

Here are all of the currently available Orbs and their effects:

The Maoshan Orb is designed specifically for Maoshan Skills.

Its possible bonuses include:

• Cooldown Reduction: 5%–10%

• Damage: 25%–200%

• Drop Chance: 1%–50%

The Damage range is particularly large, so a high-roll Maoshan Orb can provide a significant improvement to your supported Skills.

If you’re using Maoshan Skills, this is the Orb you’ll want to look toward.

The Taoist Orb works with Apex Eagle Hunt Skills.

It provides three different types of bonuses:

• Cooldown Reduction: 5%–10%

• Damage: 25%–200%

• Cash Increase: 5%–25%

• Drop Chance: 1%–50%

I like this Orb because it doesn’t focus entirely on combat.

The Cash Increase can also help with your general progression, especially if you’re spending a lot of time farming.

The Qian Gate Orb is designed for Qian Gate Dao Skills.

Its bonuses include:

• Cooldown Reduction: 5%–10%

• Damage: 20%–100%

• Drop Chance: 1%–100%

The Damage range is lower than some of the other Orbs, but the potential Drop Chance bonus can be extremely high.

If you’re using Qian Gate Dao Skills and care about obtaining better drops, this Orb can be worth looking into.

The Sage Yijiu Orb works specifically with Sage Yijiu Skills.

Its effects are:

• Damage: 50%–200%

• Cash Increase: 5%–25%

This is a straightforward offensive Orb.

It doesn’t have Cooldown Reduction or Drop Chance, but it can provide a large Damage increase while also helping you earn more Cash.

If you’re primarily focused on making your Sage Yijiu Skills hit harder, this is the Orb to consider.

The Cloud Ascension Orb works with Cloud Ascension Skills.

It can provide:

• Cooldown Reduction: 1%–25%

• Damage: 10%–120%

• Drop Chance: 5%–15%

This gives you a nice combination of offensive and utility bonuses.

The maximum 25% Cooldown Reduction can be particularly useful if you rely heavily on your Skills and want to use them more frequently.

The Execution Orb is designed for Five Execution Skills.

Its possible bonuses include:

• Damage: 5%–150%

• Cash Increase: 10%–40%

• Cooldown Reduction: 5%–25%

This makes it one of the more flexible Orbs because it can improve three different parts of your progression.

You can potentially get more Damage, more Cash, and faster Skill cooldowns from the same Orb.

If you’re using Five Execution Skills, this is definitely an Orb worth paying attention to.

There are currently two main ways to obtain Orbs.

One way to get Orbs is by summoning them from one of the game’s Banners.

If you’re already collecting Skills through the Banner system, you’ll want to keep an eye out for opportunities to obtain Orbs as well.

The exact Orb you receive can vary, so getting the perfect combination may take some time.

The second way to obtain Orbs is by completing Quests.

This is especially useful for players who don’t want to rely entirely on summoning.

Whenever you’re progressing through the islands, make sure you’re checking your available quests because some of them can reward you with useful progression items.

If you’re new to Heavyweight Fishing, don’t worry about optimizing every Orb immediately.

The first thing I’d do is check which Skills you’re actually using.

Once you know your main Skills, look for an Orb that specifically supports them.

For example:

• Using Maoshan Skills? Look for Maoshan Orb.

• Using Apex Eagle Hunt Skills? Look for Taoist Orb.

• Using Qian Gate Dao Skills? Look for Qian Gate Orb.

• Using Sage Yijiu Skills? Look for Sage Yijiu Orb.

• Using Cloud Ascension Skills? Look for Cloud Ascension Orb.

• Using Five Execution Skills? Look for Execution Orb.

There’s no reason to spend resources chasing an Orb that doesn’t work with the Skills you’re actually using.

When deciding which Orb bonuses are useful, think about what you’re currently trying to accomplish.

If you’re struggling to defeat Fish or bosses, Damage is probably the easiest bonus to understand.

More Damage means your supported Skills can contribute more during combat.

Cooldown Reduction is useful if you’re heavily dependent on your Skills.

Being able to use an ability again sooner can improve your overall Skill rotation.

Cash Increase is useful for general progression.

If you’re currently saving for expensive Rods or other upgrades, an Orb with a Cash bonus can provide additional value.

Drop Chance is useful when you’re focused on obtaining better rewards or drops.

If you’re farming for specific items, this bonus can become much more valuable than it might seem at first.

Not immediately.

The Orb system has wide ranges for many of its effects, which means you can potentially get significantly different results from the same type of Orb.

However, if you’re still progressing through the early islands, I’d rather have a usable Orb than spend all my resources trying to get the maximum possible roll.

Once you have stronger Skills and better equipment, that’s when optimizing your Orb bonuses starts making more sense.
