Heavyweight Fishing Rods Guide – All Rods, Stats, Costs

Rods are one of the most important things you’ll be upgrading in Heavyweight Fishing. Your Rod determines important stats such as Luck and Power, so getting a better one is going to make a big difference as you move into higher-level islands and start catching stronger Fish.

In this guide, I’ll go through all the Rods currently available in Heavyweight Fishing, including their Luck, Power, cost, and where you can get them. I’ll also explain how the Rod Seller works so you know exactly where to look when you’re ready for your next upgrade.

If you’re just starting the game, don’t worry about trying to get the most expensive Rod immediately. Your best approach is to upgrade naturally as you move through the islands, because each new area introduces stronger equipment that will help you handle tougher Fish.

Your Rod is one of the main pieces of progression in Heavyweight Fishing.

Every Rod comes with its own Luck and Power values. As you move toward stronger islands, you’ll need better stats to deal with the Fish and challenges you’ll encounter.

Power is particularly important because it determines how capable your Rod is when dealing with stronger Fish.

Luck is another important stat that can improve your chances of getting better results while fishing.

Because of this, I recommend keeping your Rod upgraded instead of trying to use the same one throughout the entire game.

Here is the current list of Rods available in Heavyweight Fishing, along with their stats, prices, and locations.

The last two Rods are particularly interesting because they aren’t purchased for a normal Cash price. Heavenpiercer and Pure Diamond can be crafted at Rod Sellers.

The Beginning Island is where you’ll start your Rod progression.

There are four Rods available here:

• Luck: 5

• Power: 11

• Cost: 100

The Bamboo Rod is the basic starting upgrade.

It is extremely cheap, so if you’re still using your starting equipment, this is an easy first purchase.

• Luck: 10

• Power: 13

• Cost: 500

The Iron Hook Rod provides a noticeable improvement over the Bamboo Rod.

You get both more Luck and more Power, making it a natural next step during the early game.

• Luck: 11

• Power: 17

• Cost: 1,000

The Steel Rod continues the early-game progression with another increase in Power.

If you’ve been consistently fishing and completing quests, the 1,000 Cash cost shouldn’t be too difficult to reach.

• Luck: 12

• Power: 19

• Cost: 2,000

This is currently the final Rod listed for the Beginning Island.

If you’re still working through the early area, I’d recommend upgrading to this Rod before moving on if you can afford it.

Once you reach Bamboo Island, you’ll gain access to another set of Rods.

• Luck: 5

• Power: 22

• Cost: 5,000

The Alloy Rod gives you a significant Power increase compared with the early Beginning Island Rods.

Interestingly, its Luck is lower than the Enchanted Steel Rod, so don’t look only at one stat when comparing equipment.

• Luck: 10

• Power: 25

• Cost: 10,000

The Emerald Rod gives you another increase in Power while maintaining a respectable amount of Luck.

It’s a straightforward upgrade if you’re progressing normally through Bamboo Island.

• Luck: 10

• Power: 27

• Cost: 20,000

Bloodfire gives you another Power increase while keeping the same Luck value as the Emerald Rod.

If you’re starting to encounter stronger Fish, this is the type of upgrade you’ll want to work toward.

• Luck: 22

• Power: 29

• Cost: 60,000

The Shadow Rod is particularly interesting because of its 22 Luck.

It also has 29 Power, making it a strong option before moving on to the next group of Rods.

Once you reach Fallout Isle, you can purchase two more Rods.

• Luck: 20

• Power: 32

• Cost: 100,000

Triple Steel provides another solid increase in Power while maintaining good Luck.

You’ll need 100,000 Cash, so this is where saving your money becomes more important.

• Luck: 22

• Power: 35

• Cost: 200,000

The Golden Rod improves both Power and Luck compared with Triple Steel.

If you can afford it, this is the natural upgrade to work toward while you’re progressing through Fallout Isle.

The next major upgrade path comes from Sovereign’s Isle.

• Luck: 10

• Power: 37

• Cost: 250,000

Grandmaster Steel increases your Power to 37.

Its Luck is actually lower than the Golden Rod, so this is a good reminder that you shouldn’t automatically assume every newer Rod is better in every stat.

• Luck: 15

• Power: 39

• Cost: 500,000

Grandmaster Emerald gives you a small Power increase and more Luck than Grandmaster Steel.

It costs twice as much, so you’ll need to decide whether the additional stats are worth the investment for your current progression.

• Luck: 30

• Power: 45

• Cost: 1,000,000

Now we’re getting into much more expensive equipment.

The Grandmaster Golden Rod has 30 Luck and 45 Power, making it a strong all-around option.

If you’re saving for one of the major Rod upgrades, this is definitely one to keep in mind.

• Luck: 18

• Power: 48

• Cost: 1,500,000

Inferno pushes Power up to 48.

It has less Luck than Grandmaster Golden, but the higher Power can make it more attractive depending on what you’re trying to accomplish.

After progressing to Perch Isle, you’ll find the Spine Rod progression.

• Luck: 22

• Power: 48

• Cost: 1,500,000

Steel Spine has the same Power as Inferno but a higher Luck value.

If you’re comparing these two directly, your choice may depend on whether you value Luck more than other considerations.

• Luck: 21

• Power: 51

• Cost: 2,000,000

Golden Spine increases Power to 51.

It’s another straightforward upgrade for players who have accumulated enough Cash.

• Luck: 24

• Power: 54

• Cost: 3,000,000

Platinum Spine brings the Power up to 54 while also providing 24 Luck.

The price jumps considerably here, so you’ll want to be prepared to spend several million Cash as you continue through the later islands.

• Luck: 25

• Power: 56

• Cost: 4,000,000

Diamond Spine is the strongest of the listed Spine Rods in terms of both Power and Luck.

With 56 Power and 25 Luck, it is a solid target before moving into the next stage of Rod progression.

Frost Isle introduces the Gravity Rod line.

• Luck: 15

• Power: 58

• Cost: 5,000,000

Graviteel starts this progression with 58 Power.

The cost is now several million Cash, so you’ll want to make sure you’ve been saving your money during the earlier islands.

• Luck: 10

• Power: 60

• Cost: 6,000,000

Auric Gravity increases Power to 60.

Its Luck is lower than Graviteel, so again, you’ll want to compare the stats instead of looking only at the Rod’s position in the progression.

• Luck: 20

• Power: 62

• Cost: 7,000,000

Inferno Gravity gives you 62 Power and 20 Luck.

This is another strong upgrade if you’re having trouble handling the Fish available in Frost Isle.

• Luck: 36

• Power: 65

• Cost: 8,000,000

• Requirement: Complete a quest from the Rod Seller at Frost Isle

Cryo Gravity is one of the more interesting Rods in this section.

It has 36 Luck, which is higher than several of the more expensive Rods you’ve seen before.

However, you can’t simply purchase it immediately. You’ll first need to complete a quest from the Rod Seller at Frost Isle.

Coconut Isle introduces the Thorn Rods.

• Luck: 30

• Power: 67

• Cost: 10,000,000

Thunder Thorn gives you 67 Power and 30 Luck.

At this point, you’re spending around ten million Cash, so this is definitely a late-game investment compared with the early Rods.

• Luck: 19

• Power: 75

• Cost: 20,000,000

• Requirement: Complete a quest from the Rod Seller at Coconut Isle

Soul Thorn has a major Power increase to 75.

However, you’ll need to complete a Rod Seller quest before you can obtain it.

• Luck: 15

• Power: 83

• Cost: 60,000,000

The Starlight Rod is currently one of the most expensive standard Rod purchases.

It costs a massive 60 million Cash and provides 83 Power.

If you’re reaching Amber Isle and struggling with the stronger Fish, this is the kind of major upgrade you’ll want to save toward.

There are also two special Rods that don’t have a normal purchase price.

• Luck: 36

• Power: 100

• Cost: Crafting

• Location: Any Rod Seller

Heavenpiercer has 100 Power and 36 Luck, putting it among the strongest Rods listed here.

You don’t buy it directly with Cash. Instead, you can craft it at any Rod Seller.

• Luck: 30

• Power: 100

• Cost: Crafting

• Location: Any Rod Seller

Pure Diamond also has 100 Power.

It has 30 Luck compared with Heavenpiercer’s 36, but both have the same maximum listed Power of 100.

These are the Rods you’ll want to keep in mind as long-term crafting goals.

Getting Rods is actually pretty simple once you know where to look.

Every island has a Rod Seller NPC.

When you interact with the Rod Seller, you’ll be able to see which Rods are available in that particular area.

Depending on the island, you’ll either be able to:

• Purchase available Rods with Cash.

• Complete a quest to unlock a special Rod.

• Craft one of the special craftable Rods.

So whenever you reach a new island, I recommend checking the Rod Seller before doing anything else.

You might immediately discover that there’s a new upgrade available for your character.

I wouldn’t recommend blindly buying every Rod as soon as you arrive on a new island.

Instead, look at your current Rod and compare its stats with the available upgrades.

If the new Rod gives you a meaningful increase in Power or Luck and you can comfortably afford it, then it’s probably worth buying.

However, don’t spend every bit of Cash you have on a Rod if you still need money for other important progression systems.

Try to keep some resources available for quests, Traits, Skills, and other upgrades.

Rods are one of the most important parts of your progression in Heavyweight Fishing, and you’ll naturally go through quite a few of them as you travel across the islands.

Early on, your upgrades are cheap and easy to obtain, starting with the Bamboo Rod and eventually moving through the Iron Hook, Steel, and Enchanted Steel Rods.

As you reach later islands, the prices increase dramatically, with the strongest standard Rods costing millions of Cash. Eventually, you’ll also have the option to work toward the Heavenpiercer Rod and Pure Diamond Rod, both of which have 100 Power and can be crafted at Rod Sellers.

My biggest tip is to simply keep your Rod updated as you progress. You don’t need to chase the strongest Rod immediately. Focus on fishing, completing quests, earning Cash, and moving through the islands, and you’ll gradually unlock access to the better Rods.

When you reach a new island, always check the Rod Seller. That one NPC can tell you exactly what your next upgrade path looks like.
