How to Find the Merchant in TBOD^2 Roblox

If you are trying to make more money in TBOD^2, the Merchant is one NPC you definitely want to keep an eye out for. He appears around the map and lets you spend your cash on cards that can give you useful bonuses, especially Bits that increase your overall income.

In this post, I’ll show you where to find the Merchant, when he normally spawns, how his cards work, and why Bits are so useful. I’ll also cover the Blood Moon event, since that gives you an even better chance to get valuable Merchant rewards.

The Merchant can be easy to miss if you don’t know where to look, so I recommend learning the possible spawn areas and making a quick route between them. Once you get used to checking these spots, finding him becomes much easier.

The Merchant is an NPC that can randomly appear around the map. When you find him, you can spend your cash to purchase different cards.

Keep in mind that the Merchant doesn’t replace your normal tycoon upgrades. Your droppers and upgraders are still the main things generating your income. However, the bonuses you get from Merchant cards can give your money-making a pretty big boost on top of your regular upgrades.

There are around six possible Merchant spawn locations, so you may have to check several areas before you find him.

Some of the areas I recommend checking include:

• The beach

• The lighthouse

• The obelisk statue

• Dirt patches

• Dirt paths

• Other important paths and areas around the map

I wouldn’t recommend standing in one spot and waiting for the Merchant to appear. Instead, make yourself a simple route that goes through the possible spawn locations.

Once you know the route, you can quickly run from one location to another and check each spot.

The normal Merchant generally appears on even-numbered nights.

Because of this, you should pay attention to the day and night cycle if you’re actively looking for him. When an even-numbered night is coming up, that’s a good time to start checking his possible locations.

There’s also a useful movement trick that can make this process faster.

Dirt paths can increase your movement speed when you’re walking on them. I recommend taking advantage of them whenever possible while searching for the Merchant.

Instead of running randomly around the map, try to connect your Merchant spawn locations with the dirt paths. This lets you cover more ground and check the different locations much faster.

Once you find the Merchant, you’ll be able to purchase cards using your cash.

A normal Merchant offers five cards, with a chance of offering a sixth card as well. Because you have multiple options to choose from, it’s worth having some extra cash ready before you start searching.

There’s not much point in spending a lot of time hunting for the Merchant if you don’t have enough money to buy anything from him.

So before you go searching, make sure your tycoon is producing enough cash to actually take advantage of the cards.

The main reason I recommend paying attention to Merchant cards is Bits.

Bits provide a cash boost, and each Bit gives around 10% extra cash.

For example:

• 1 Bit = 10% cash boost

• 5 Bits = 50% cash boost

• 10 Bits = 100% cash boost

That can become extremely useful once your normal tycoon upgrades start becoming more expensive.

Instead of relying entirely on droppers and upgraders, you can stack Bits to increase the amount of money you’re earning from your existing setup.

This is why I wouldn’t ignore the Merchant even if you’re already progressing pretty well. Those extra boosts can make a noticeable difference over the course of a run.

The best opportunity to find the Merchant is during a Blood Moon.

Blood Moon has roughly a 1 in 100 chance of occurring each night, so it’s a fairly rare event. However, when Blood Moon does appear, a Merchant is guaranteed to spawn.

That alone makes the event worth paying attention to.

The Merchant that appears during Blood Moon also has buffed cards and offers six cards.

So, if you notice that a Blood Moon has started, I would make finding the Merchant one of your top priorities.

You have more cards to choose from, the rewards are better, and you have a guaranteed Merchant instead of having to hope that one appears during a normal night.

Since Blood Moon is rare, you don’t want to waste the opportunity by continuing with your usual routine without checking for the Merchant.

One thing I recommend thinking about before spending a large amount of cash is your next rebirth.

If you’re already very close to the amount of cash needed for a rebirth, it may be better to reach that requirement first instead of spending all of your money on Merchant cards.

For example, if you’re only a small amount away from rebirthing, buying several expensive cards could slow you down unnecessarily.

On the other hand, if your next rebirth is still a long way away and you’ve got plenty of spare cash, buying Merchant cards can be a much better choice.

The extra Bits can increase your income, which can then help you reach your next rebirth and future upgrades faster.

I wouldn’t recommend spending your entire time running around the map trying to find the Merchant.

Instead, you want to treat him as an extra source of progression while you continue upgrading your tycoon.

Keep working on your normal droppers and upgraders, and then check the Merchant’s possible locations when the timing is right.

On even-numbered nights, start checking his spawn locations. If a Blood Moon appears, prioritize finding him because you are guaranteed to get a Merchant with six cards.

At the same time, don’t forget to think about your rebirth. If you’re almost ready to rebirth, reaching that milestone may be more valuable than spending all your cash immediately.

• Learn the possible Merchant spawn locations.

• Create a route between the locations instead of camping one spot.

• Check for the Merchant mainly on even-numbered nights.

• Use dirt paths to move around the map faster.

• Save some cash so you can actually buy Merchant cards.

• Focus on cards that help you build up Bits.

• Take advantage of Blood Moon whenever it appears.

• During Blood Moon, prioritize finding the Merchant because the spawn is guaranteed.

• Consider your next rebirth before spending a large amount of cash.

• Keep upgrading your tycoon instead of constantly chasing the Merchant.

The Merchant is a useful part of the money-making system in TBOD^2, especially once you understand how his spawn system works.

You don’t need to spend every night searching for him. Just keep progressing normally, check his locations during even-numbered nights, and make sure you’re ready to buy cards when you find him.

The biggest opportunity is definitely Blood Moon. Since the event guarantees a Merchant, gives you six cards, and improves the available cards, it’s worth dropping what you’re doing and searching for him when the event appears.

Once you start combining Merchant cards and Bits with your normal upgraders and rebirths, you can speed up your overall progression quite a bit.
