How To Get All New Units in Anime Vanguards Upd 11.5

Update 11.5 looks simple on paper—just a few new units—but once you actually start playing, you realize everything is tied together. Dungeon farming, Worldline, evolution quests… it’s one of those updates where if you don’t follow a proper path, you end up wasting a lot of time.

I went through the process myself, and here’s the clean way to get all new units without making things harder than they need to be.

All Units in Update 11.5 (Quick Overview)

There are 4 main units in this update:

  • Ichigo (Main unit → evolves into Vanguard)
  • Aizen (Dungeon unit)
  • Ulquiorra / Diablo (Dungeon unit)
  • Gohan + Trunks (Worldline unit)

Each one comes from a different system, so you’ll be jumping between modes a lot.

How To Get Ichigo (Main Priority)

Let’s be real—this is the unit everyone wants.

  • Pull Ichigo from the banner (use Selection Banner if possible)
  • Then evolve him using materials and dungeon drops

But here’s the important part:
Getting Ichigo is easy. Maxing him (Vanguard) is the real grind.

You’ll need:

  • Mask drop from dungeon (RNG)
  • Multiple quest steps
  • Sacrifices and farming

From experience, this is easily one of the heavier grinds in the game right now. If you’re not prepared, it can feel overwhelming fast.

How To Get Aizen (Deceiver)

Aizen is more straightforward—but still tied to grinding.

  • Go to Underworld Dungeon Shop
  • Buy him using Hollow Tokens

Important note:

  • He does NOT reliably drop from the dungeon
  • You’ll mainly get him through currency farming

So don’t waste time waiting for RNG—just grind tokens and buy him directly.

How To Get Ulquiorra (Diablo)

Ulquiorra works differently from Aizen.

You have two ways:

  • Dungeon drop (~5% chance)
  • Or buy from Dungeon Shop (with tokens)

So basically:

  • If you’re lucky → you get him early
  • If not → grind tokens and guarantee him

There’s also a pity system, so you’re never fully stuck.

How To Get Gohan + Trunks (Worldline Unit)

This one is the easiest out of all.

  • Play Worldline mode
  • Progress through floors
  • Unlock unit + Memorial rewards

You’ll get:

  • Unit from progression
  • Memorial at specific floors (like 25/50)

If you’ve been ignoring Worldline before, now you actually have a reason to grind it.

Dungeon Tips (Very Important)

Most of this update revolves around the Underworld Dungeon, and this is where a lot of players struggle.

A few things I noticed while playing:

  • The dungeon is not beginner-friendly
  • If your team isn’t strong, you will struggle hard
  • Playing with more people = enemies get stronger

Best approach:

  • Bring your strongest team only
  • Choose safe/easy buffs inside dungeon
  • Don’t overcomplicate runs

If you’re undergeared, it’s honestly better to find a solid team instead of forcing solo runs.

Memorials

Memorials are tied closely to units this update.

You can:

  • Buy them from Dungeon Shop
  • Or unlock them by evolving units

From what most players are seeing:

  • Aizen & Ulquiorra → give memorial on evolution
  • Ichigo → likely gives it after full evolution

So don’t stress too much about farming them separately at first.

Best Order To Progress

If you don’t want to get stuck, follow this:

  1. Pull Ichigo from banner
  2. Start farming Underworld Dungeon
  3. Buy Aizen first (needed later anyway)
  4. Try getting Ulquiorra (drop or shop)
  5. Grind materials for Ichigo evolution
  6. Do Worldline for Gohan/Trunks on the side

This keeps everything moving without wasting effort.

This update is not hard because of mechanics—it’s hard because of grind management.

If you go in blindly:

  • You’ll feel stuck
  • You’ll waste resources
  • Progress will feel slow

But if you follow a plan:

  • Everything connects nicely
  • Dungeon → Units → Evolution → Power spike

And once you finally unlock Vanguard Ichigo, you’ll understand why everyone is pushing for it.

It’s one of those updates where the grind is heavy—but the payoff is worth it.
