How to Get Rare, Epic and Legendary Gems in The Veil

Gems are important upgrades in The Veil, especially if you want to improve your weapons with powerful enchants. Getting a Rare or Epic gem is already useful, but Legendary gems are much harder to obtain because of their extremely low drop chance.

If you are trying to get powerful gems such as Shadow Diamond, you will need plenty of Silver and a little patience. The process mostly depends on RNG, so there is no guaranteed method for getting the exact gem you want.

Before you can start rolling for gems, though, you first need to unlock access to the Gem Merchant. This requires finding a special location inside the maze and traveling to the Sky Island.

In this guide, I’ll explain how to find the Shimmering Sanctum, unlock the Gem Merchant, roll for Rare, Epic, and Legendary gems, and use your gems to enchant weapons.

The first thing you need to do is locate the Shimmering Sanctum inside the maze.

This location can appear randomly, which means there is no single route that will always lead you directly to it. You may need to spend some time exploring the maze before finding the Sanctum.

If you already have a radar, checking the coordinates displayed on your screen can make the search easier.

Once you find the Shimmering Sanctum, go inside and speak with the NPC.

You will need to give the NPC one gem. After doing this, the NPC will teleport you to the Sky Island.

After arriving on the Sky Island, do not immediately run toward the Gem Merchant.

First, look for the TP Obelisk located around the middle of the island and activate it.

This is an important step because it makes returning to the Sky Island much easier later. Without activating the obelisk, you may have to search for the Shimmering Sanctum again whenever you want to return.

Once the teleport point is active, you can travel back much more conveniently.

After activating it, continue heading higher up the island until you reach the Gem Merchant.

The Gem Merchant allows you to roll for random gems.

Each roll costs either:

• 500 Silver

• 32 Rubies

Since Legendary gems are extremely rare, Silver is something you should save before you start rolling.

The best approach is to farm a large amount of Silver first instead of doing only a few rolls and then leaving to farm more currency.

The more rolls you can do in one session, the better your chances of eventually getting the gem you want.

The listed chances for the different gem rarities are:

• Uncommon: 60%

• Rare: 40%

• Epic: 10%

• Legendary: 1%

Legendary gems are clearly the hardest to obtain.

A 1% chance means you should expect to spend a lot of currency if you are specifically chasing a Legendary gem. RNG can work in your favor and give you one quickly, but you could also go through many unsuccessful rolls.

Because of this, make sure you have a large Silver supply before starting your Legendary gem hunt.

Shadow Diamond is one of the gems players may want to obtain for powerful weapon enchantments.

However, there is no guaranteed method for getting Shadow Diamond.

You simply need to keep rolling gems at the Gem Merchant until RNG gives you the result you want.

This is why farming plenty of Silver beforehand is important. If you only have enough currency for a few attempts, you may quickly run out before getting anything useful.

For a rare target like Shadow Diamond, it is better to prepare for many rolls.

Once you finally get a gem you want to use, take it to the Blacksmith.

At the Blacksmith, select the weapon you want to upgrade and use the enchant option to apply your gem.

Your gem can then give your weapon a special enchantment depending on the result.

Make sure you choose your weapon carefully before applying a valuable gem, especially if you have spent a long time farming for it.

Shadow Diamond can produce the Shadow Lightning enchant.

This enchant can give your weapon several powerful effects, including:

• Lightning damage

• A short stun effect

• Shadow fire

That combination can make Shadow Diamond particularly valuable if you are looking for stronger offensive weapon effects.

Since obtaining the gem depends on RNG, getting one can take a significant amount of farming and repeated rolls.

The most efficient strategy is to prepare everything before you start rolling.

First, farm as much Silver as possible.

After that, find the Shimmering Sanctum and give the NPC one gem to unlock access to the Sky Island.

When you arrive, activate the TP Obelisk immediately. This saves you from having to search through the maze for the Sanctum every time you want to return.

Then head to the Gem Merchant and start rolling.

Since Legendary gems have a listed 1% chance, having a large amount of Silver ready is much better than stopping after every few unlucky attempts to farm more currency.

Getting Rare and Epic gems in The Veil can take some luck, but Legendary gems are where the real grind begins. With only a 1% listed chance for Legendary rarity, you should be prepared to spend plenty of Silver and make repeated rolls.

The most important thing is to unlock the Sky Island and activate its TP Obelisk as soon as possible. Once that is done, returning to the Gem Merchant becomes much easier.

Farm your Silver, save up enough for plenty of rolls, and keep trying until you get the gem you want. There is no guaranteed way to get Shadow Diamond or another specific Legendary gem, so patience and RNG will play a major role in the process.
