How to Solo Aquatic Temple in Dungeon Quest Reborn
Published 26 Aug 2026, 10:37 am · 12 min read
Aquatic Temple is one of the more difficult dungeons in Dungeon Quest Reborn, especially when you’re trying to clear it solo. You need good damage, the right abilities, and most importantly, a reliable way to dodge the enemies and bosses.
In this guide, I’ll walk you through the gear and abilities you should use, how I approach each section of the dungeon, and the safest ways to handle all three bosses. If you’re struggling with Aquatic Temple, these strategies should make your runs much more consistent.
Gear You Need for Aquatic Temple
You don’t necessarily need perfect gear to solo Aquatic Temple, but having strong equipment makes a huge difference.
If you’re lucky enough to have a full set of purple Lava King’s armor, you should be able to clear most of the enemy groups in around two to three cycles.
Another option is to take advantage of the daily rewards and get at least one Tier 3 weapon. You can also get one through trading.
For this particular strategy, I’m focusing heavily on damage rather than survivability. In other words, we’re going for a glass cannon build.
If you’re still using only Volcanic gear, you should still be able to make this strategy work, although you may need around two and a half cycles to kill certain enemy groups.
With a Tier 3 weapon and some Aquatic armor, you can potentially bring many of those groups down in two cycles.

If your damage is lower than that, don’t worry. You’ll simply need to dodge more attacks and spend a little longer fighting each group.
Focus All Your Stats on Damage
For this solo strategy, I recommend putting your points into damage.
Don’t invest your points into Stamina.
The goal is to kill enemies as quickly as possible because every additional cycle gives them more opportunities to hit you.
When you’re playing solo, your damage is effectively part of your survivability. The faster you kill an enemy, the fewer attacks you have to dodge.

Best Abilities for Soloing Aquatic Temple
For your abilities, you’ll want a strong damage setup.
If you’re playing Warrior, use Inner Focus or Rage. The enhanced versions are even better if you have access to them.
For your main damage ability, you can use either:
• Lava Barrage
• Amethyst Blast

These are both useful options from Volcanic Chambers.
Your goal is to combine your damage buff with your main attack so that you can kill enemies in as few cycles as possible.
Bait the Pylon Attacks
One of the most important things to learn in Aquatic Temple is how to bait enemy attacks.
Don’t simply walk into a group and start attacking everything.
Instead, approach the enemies carefully and make them use their attacks before you commit to your damage rotation.

For example, when you first enter the dungeon, walk forward slightly and bait the defensive cube pylon’s first attack.
Once you’ve dodged it, you can activate your ability and start dealing damage.
This makes the fight much safer because you’re controlling when the dangerous attacks happen rather than allowing everything to overlap at once.
Handling the First Enemy Groups
When you enter the first section, walk forward just enough to trigger the defensive cube pylon.
Dodge its initial attack, then activate your ability.

This should also trigger the spirits.
Once the spirits fire at you, position yourself so that you can avoid their attacks while continuing to damage the group.
After you’ve attacked them a couple of times, activate your enhanced ability and finish them off.
If your damage is lower and you need three cycles, that’s completely fine. The important thing is that you stay alive while cycling their attacks.
The general pattern is:
Bait → Dodge → Attack → Back away → Repeat

You’ll use this idea throughout the entire dungeon.
Bait the Next Group
For the next group, repeat the same basic strategy.
Walk forward and bait the pylon attack.
Once you’ve baited it, activate your enhanced ability and use your main attack.
Then back up and dodge the spirits.
After that, move forward and activate the guards.
Bait the pylon’s attack again, dodge it, and continue attacking.
It may feel slow at first, but once you understand the attack patterns, you’ll find that you have much more control over these groups.
First Boss Strategy
The first boss appears relatively early in the dungeon, while the second and final bosses are much closer to the end.
For the first boss, I recommend playing from the back corner of the arena.
When you start the fight, the boss has several different attacks, including lasers and a wave attack.
Staying toward the back makes the lasers easier to deal with, although you’ll still need to dodge the wave.
The key is not to stand completely still.
Keep watching the boss and react to each attack instead of trying to tank the damage.
How to Avoid the Snowballs
One of the first boss’s more annoying mechanics is the group of projectiles that I like to call snowballs.
When they spawn, stay toward one side of the arena.
Activate your enhanced ability and then move toward the other side of the back section.
The reason this works is that the snowballs have a predetermined path when they spawn.
They don’t continuously track you after being created.
So if you’re standing in one place when they spawn and immediately move away, the projectiles will continue traveling along their original paths.
This makes them much easier to avoid.
The basic idea is:
Stay on one side → Wait for the projectiles → Move to the other side.
Just remember that you still need to watch the lines and squares from the boss while doing this.
The Room After the First Boss
After the first boss, you’ll encounter a more complicated group consisting of a spirit, defensive pyramid pylons, and temple guards.
I like approaching this section from the side where the spirit is located.
Your goal is to bait the pylon attacks toward one side while moving backward to dodge the spirit.
Once you’ve avoided the spirit attack, bait the guards.
The sequence looks roughly like:
Pylons → Spirit → Guards → Attack
Don’t rush directly into the middle of everything.
Instead, pull the enemies into positions where you can deal with their attacks individually.
Use the Narrow Areas to Your Advantage
Some sections of Aquatic Temple are surprisingly easy because the area is narrow.
You can use the limited space to bait enemy attacks toward one side and then move away from them.
This is especially useful when dealing with groups that don’t have too many different enemy types.
You don’t always need a complicated strategy.
Sometimes the safest approach is simply to bait an attack, move away, attack during the opening, and repeat.
Pylon-Only Rooms
There are some rooms where you’re mostly dealing with pylons.
These sections are considerably easier because you don’t have to worry about spirits and temple guards at the same time.
The main thing you need to watch is getting caught between the beams from the pyramid and cube pylons.
I recommend taking the groups one at a time instead of rushing into everything simultaneously.
Once you understand how the pylon attacks work, these rooms become fairly straightforward.
The Large Enemy Room
One room deserves extra attention because dying there can waste a lot of time.
The spawn point is far behind the enemies, so if you die, you’ll have a long distance to travel back.
The trick here is to walk into the room and aggro the defensive cube pylons.
Then use a large-area ability such as Wind Blast, Amethyst Blast, or Lava Barrage to hit as many enemies as possible.
Ideally, you want to aggro the group in one attack.
Once they’re active, keep the temple guards toward the center of the arena rather than allowing them to spread everywhere.
This makes the group much easier to control.
You can then attack from a safe distance and move away whenever the dangerous attacks begin.
Side-Angle the Next Group
For the next group, approach from the side rather than running straight into it.
This section contains a spirit and two pyramid pylons.
Activate Inner Focus, aggro the enemies, and then sidestep to avoid the incoming attacks.
The temple guards aren’t particularly dangerous if you’re paying attention.
In fact, if you’re already moving away when they aggro, you can often simply walk out of their hitbox.
That makes them much easier to deal with than some of the other enemies in the dungeon.
Another Easy Mob Section
There is another relatively straightforward group where you can walk forward, activate your enhanced ability, and use your main attack to hit multiple enemies.
After attacking, back up and dodge the spirits first.
Then dodge the guards.
The important part is to stay close enough to the spirits that you don’t accidentally aggro the pylons from the next room.
This is one of those situations where positioning is just as important as damage.
You don’t want to accidentally turn one manageable enemy group into two groups attacking you at once.
The Temple Guard Section
You’ll eventually reach an area with roughly ten temple guards split between different levels.
Don’t group every guard together immediately.
Instead, attack the first group and start pulling them toward you.
Keep them separated from the guards farther ahead.
Once you have the first group in a comfortable position, cycle their attacks and kill them.
Then move on to the next group.
Guards are actually some of the easiest enemies to dodge in Aquatic Temple once you understand their attack pattern.
You can run through them, attack, move backward, and wait for them to approach you.
Then repeat the process.
Second Boss: Ancient Temple Protector
The second boss is the Ancient Temple Protector.
This boss has several attacks that you’ll need to recognize.
The important attacks include:
• Star attack
• Ripple attack
• Slam/concussion attack
• Grid attack
Once you understand where to stand, most of these attacks aren’t too difficult.
How to Dodge the Star Attack
For the star attack, staying near the center is generally the easiest approach.
Watch the attack pattern and remain in the safe area.
The important thing is to avoid panicking and running around randomly.
If you move without knowing where you’re going, you can easily run directly into another attack.
How to Dodge the Concussion Attack
The concussion or slam attack requires more movement.
When this attack begins, run sideways.
You want to stay relatively close to the boss while moving laterally.
A good position is around the middle of the arena, at a moderate distance from the boss.
The attack happens multiple times, so continue moving sideways rather than stopping after the first hit.
How to Dodge the Grid Attack
The grid attack is relatively simple once you recognize the pattern.
Stand between the lines and then move backward as the pattern repeats.
The main thing is to watch where the safe spaces are rather than trying to outrun the entire attack.
Once you learn the pattern, this boss becomes much more manageable.
Don’t Rush Ahead in Group Runs
Even though this guide focuses on soloing, this tip is important if you decide to run Aquatic Temple with other players.
Wait for your group.
If you rush ahead and kill everything before your teammates arrive, the enemies can respawn or catch up to your group in awkward positions.
This can be especially dangerous for your tanks.
If you’re playing with a group, stay together and let everyone reach the next section before moving too far ahead.
The Final Boss: Sea King
The final boss is the Sea King, and this is easily one of the most frustrating parts of the entire solo run.
In my experience, this boss is significantly harder than many of the earlier sections because some of his attacks leave you with very little room for error.
His attacks include:
• Square attack
• Splash attack
• Line/ripple attack
• Bomb attack
The square attack is particularly difficult to dodge.
There are a few safe positions, but the problem is that the safe areas don’t give you much room to react if the attack targets you.
Because of that, I wouldn’t recommend Hardcore Mode when you’re learning this boss solo.
You may die several times while learning the patterns, and that’s completely normal.
How to Dodge the Splash Attack
The splash attack is actually easier to dodge than it initially looks.
When you see it coming, move sideways.
If you’re using Shift Lock, try disabling it when you’re dodging this attack.
Then run between the small gaps in the star-shaped pattern.
This gives you more control over your movement and makes the attack much easier to avoid.
How to Handle the Line/Ripple Attack
The Sea King’s ripple attack can be avoided by standing in certain safe areas around the arena.
There are several positions that can work, including areas near the edges and some spots around the center.
You can also use the green aura areas to completely prevent the line attack from hitting you.
These safe positions are extremely valuable because they allow you to focus on attacking instead of constantly running around.
The key is to learn where the safe spots are before attempting to maximize your damage.
Watch Out for the Bomb Attack
The bomb attack has two things you need to avoid.
First, you need to avoid the explosion itself.
Second, the ball that gets thrown outward can also damage you.
So don’t stand in the path of the projectile just because you’re outside the explosion radius.
The bomb attack can also apply anti-heal, which makes getting hit particularly dangerous during a solo run.
If you’re already low on health, getting hit by this attack can easily end your attempt.
Safe Spot for the Square Attack
The center of the arena can also provide a useful safe position for the square attack.
Standing in the center gives you more room to react if you’re targeted.
However, you still need to pay attention because you don’t have unlimited space.
I recommend learning both the dedicated safe spots and the center position so you can switch between them depending on where the attack targets you.
Learn the Boss Through Repetition
Don’t expect to beat the Sea King perfectly on your first attempt.
This is one of those bosses where you need to learn the attack patterns through repetition.
You might die several times while figuring out where to stand.
That’s completely fine.
Once you know which attack is coming and where the safe position is, the fight becomes much more manageable.
The biggest improvement you can make isn’t necessarily getting more damage.
It’s learning how to recognize each attack before it hits you.
Should You Use Hardcore Mode?
For normal dungeon farming, Hardcore Mode can be useful because of its XP and loot bonuses.
For learning a solo Aquatic Temple run, however, I recommend turning it off.
The final boss has attacks that are difficult to dodge consistently, especially when you’re still learning the fight.
If you’re running with a coordinated group and have healers, Hardcore becomes much more reasonable.
But when you’re solo, there’s no reason to make an already difficult learning process even more punishing.
How Much Gear Do You Actually Need?
You don’t necessarily need perfect Aquatic gear to solo the dungeon.
Players have managed to complete it using purple Lava King’s Mage armor, which means the dungeon can be beaten with gear from the previous area.
However, the better your equipment is, the easier the run becomes.
With some decent Aquatic gear, you can significantly improve your clear time.
The most important thing is having enough damage to kill enemy groups within a reasonable number of cycles.
If you’re taking too many cycles, you’ll have to survive more attacks, which makes the run much more difficult.
Why Dying Is So Costly
When you’re soloing, dying doesn’t just mean losing health.
You also lose a significant amount of time because of the travel distance between the spawn point and where you died.
A single death can cost you around 20 seconds or more depending on where you are in the dungeon.
That’s why avoiding unnecessary deaths is so important.
Even if you have enough damage to beat the dungeon, repeatedly dying can make the run feel impossible.
