Jujutsu Zero Megumi Shadow Garden & Twin Calamity Guide

Published 1 Aug 2026, 4:45 pm · 7 min read

The latest Jujutsu Zero update has given Megumi players quite a bit to work toward, and honestly, the new Shadow Garden Domain is probably going to be the first thing most Ten Shadows users want to unlock.

But you can’t simply jump into the game after the update and equip it. Shadow Garden and Twin Calamity are tied to new materials, and getting those means you’re going to spend some time fighting the Shadow Sorcerer in the Megumi Raid.

There are some other additions worth knowing about too, including Max Elephant and changes involving Mahoraga. So, if you’ve opened the skill menu and found yourself staring at all these new unlock requirements wondering where everything actually comes from, here’s how the whole process works.

How to Unlock Shadow Garden Domain in Jujutsu Zero

Shadow Garden is the new Domain Expansion available through Megumi’s progression.

To unlock it, you’ll need materials connected to the new Megumi Raid. Based on the current requirements, you need:

• 3 Garden Hearts

• 1 Silicore

• 1 Domain Fragment

The important part is that these aren’t materials you’re simply going to find lying around the normal map. You’ll need to start farming the new Shadow Sorcerer/Megumi Raid for the required drops.

If you’re starting with none of the materials, expect to run the raid more than once.

Where to Get Shadow Garden Materials

Your main destination is the new raid where the objective is to Defeat the Shadow Sorcerer.

The Shadow Sorcerer is described as possessing one of the highest potentials among the students at Jujutsu High, which should make it fairly obvious who you’re fighting here.

Completing the raid can reward materials and other items, including things such as Crates and Cursed Crystals, alongside the drops you’ll need for the new Megumi-related unlocks.

I’d recommend treating this as a farming raid rather than expecting everything you need after your first clear.

The good news is that once you’ve learned what happens during the fight, repeat attempts become much less confusing.

And yes, “confusing” is definitely the word I’d use for the first run.

How to Beat the Megumi Shadow Sorcerer Raid

The Shadow Sorcerer fight can get visually chaotic very quickly.

Between your own abilities, summons, the boss’s attacks, Divine Dogs and eventually Mahoraga entering the picture, there can be so much happening on-screen that simply keeping track of the boss becomes part of the fight.

Your first priority should be staying on top of the Shadow Sorcerer’s position.

If you’re using summons yourself, get them out early and let them help maintain pressure while you use your stronger abilities whenever they’re available.

During the demonstrated runs, attacks such as Shadow Burst, Divine Fangs and Divine Judgment were useful for keeping damage going.

Don’t become too aggressive, though.

The boss’s summons can attack you at the same time, and it’s surprisingly easy to concentrate entirely on the Shadow Sorcerer while something else chips away at your health. That’s exactly the sort of mistake that can turn what looked like an easy clear into a death.

There can also be moments where the boss appears immune to your attacks. If you’re suddenly seeing no damage, don’t just stand there repeatedly throwing abilities into him. Pay attention to what’s happening with the encounter and wait for the phase to progress until he becomes vulnerable again.

Watch Out for the Mahoraga Phase

Defeating the Shadow Sorcerer’s initial portion doesn’t necessarily mean you’re finished.

Mahoraga can become part of the encounter, and this is where the raid becomes especially messy.

When that happens, follow the encounter and move toward Mahoraga’s location rather than remaining where you fought the Shadow Sorcerer. During the showcased attempt, the player had to move upward to find the next target.

This part can be difficult to read because of all the effects covering the screen.

If you’re running the raid for the first time and suddenly can’t figure out where you’re supposed to attack, don’t immediately assume the encounter has bugged. Look around and check whether the fight has shifted to another section.

Once you understand that transition, later clears should be considerably smoother.

Farming Garden Hearts, Silicore and the Domain Fragment

After completing the raid, check your materials before immediately jumping into another run.

For Shadow Garden, you’re ultimately working toward:

3 Garden Hearts + 1 Silicore + 1 Domain Fragment

The Domain Fragment was already obtained during the showcased farming process, while additional raid farming was necessary for the remaining materials.

Since you’re relying on raid drops, you might not finish everything in one or two clears.

I’d personally farm until I had all of the Shadow Garden materials before worrying too much about testing the other additions. It saves you from constantly travelling back and forth between the raid and your unlock menu just to discover you’re still missing something.

How to Unlock Twin Calamity in Jujutsu Zero

Shadow Garden isn’t the only new Megumi-related ability worth farming.

You can also unlock Twin Calamity, another new move tied to the updated progression.

Twin Calamity requires additional Silicore, so don’t stop farming the moment you have enough Silicore for Shadow Garden.

This is particularly important if your plan is to unlock everything from the update in one session. Shadow Garden consumes its own Silicore requirement, while Twin Calamity needs more of the material.

In other words, when Silicore drops, don’t think of the first one as the end of the grind.

Keep farming until you’ve covered the requirements for both unlocks.

Is Twin Calamity Worth Unlocking?

I’d say so, especially if you’re already committed to a Megumi/Ten Shadows setup.

Twin Calamity produces a considerably stronger attack using your summons and deals noticeably more damage than the regular interaction shown before it.

Visually, it’s also one of the more satisfying additions from the update.

Your summons come together for the attack, and the resulting move feels much more like an upgraded technique rather than another tiny passive improvement hidden somewhere in the skill tree.

If you’re already farming the raid for Shadow Garden materials, you may as well collect enough Silicore to grab Twin Calamity too.

What Does Shadow Garden Domain Do?

Now for the fun part.

After unlocking the required node, you can activate Shadow Garden and enter Megumi’s new Domain Expansion.

Shadow Garden creates a darkened domain around the fight and gives Ten Shadows players a much more fitting environment for using their kit.

More importantly, this isn’t purely a cosmetic Domain.

Based on the update information and testing, Shadow Garden provides a damage buff and can stun enemies inside the Domain.

That’s what gives the ability actual combat value.

The damage increase naturally makes your attacks more threatening while the stun component gives you opportunities to keep opponents under pressure.

You can also continue using your Ten Shadows summons inside Shadow Garden, which is where the ability starts feeling much more appropriate for a full Megumi build.

Summoning your Shikigami while fighting inside the Domain creates exactly the sort of chaos you’d expect from the technique.

How to Use Shadow Garden Effectively

I wouldn’t treat Shadow Garden as something you should activate just because the cooldown is ready.

You’ll get more value from it when you actually have an opportunity to attack.

Try activating Shadow Garden when you’re positioned close enough to your target to immediately take advantage of its effects. Once the Domain is active, bring out your Ten Shadows and start applying pressure while benefiting from the damage buff and stuns.

That’s much better than opening the Domain while the enemy is far away and then spending part of its useful window chasing them.

For PvE, the combination of your summons and the Domain’s effects should make it particularly useful against tougher targets that would normally take longer to bring down.

Max Elephant Is Also Available

Don’t overlook Max Elephant while you’re checking out the new Megumi content.

The Shikigami has been added alongside Shadow Garden and the other Ten Shadows changes, giving Megumi builds another summon to incorporate into their setup.

If you’re trying to build out the complete Ten Shadows kit rather than only grabbing the Domain, this is another unlock you’ll eventually want.

The update is clearly pushing Megumi’s progression beyond simply adding one flashy Domain and calling it a day.

Mahoraga Focus Changes Explained

Mahoraga also received some interesting attention.

With Mahoraga Focus, your normal player skills can be replaced by Mahoraga’s abilities.

The expanded moveset includes techniques such as:

Divine Barrage and World Cutting Slash.

There’s also an important targeting change.

NPCs can now prioritize Mahoraga instead of immediately targeting the player, including from farther away. That gives the summon additional utility because Mahoraga isn’t simply contributing damage—it can pull enemy attention away from you.

For PvE players, that can create some interesting opportunities to let Mahoraga take the pressure while you reposition or prepare your next attack.

What Should You Unlock First?

If you’re short on materials, I’d prioritize Shadow Garden.

Twin Calamity looks good and brings stronger offensive potential, but getting access to an actual Domain Expansion changes your Megumi setup much more substantially.

My order would be:

Shadow Garden → Twin Calamity → remaining Ten Shadows additions you still need.

There is one exception. If you’re still missing several Garden Hearts but already have enough materials to grab Twin Calamity without interfering with your Domain requirements, there’s no real reason to leave the move locked.

Just be careful with your Silicore.

It’s better to check the requirements first than spend a material and realize five seconds later that it was the exact item you needed for Shadow Garden.
