The Nyoi Update in Jujutsu Zero is one of the bigger updates the game has received recently. It introduces a powerful new weapon, a new raid, the emblem gear slot system, the ailment mechanic, investigation changes, and several balance adjustments. On top of that, players also received new redeemable codes.
This guide explains everything added in the update and what you should focus on first.
New Weapon – Nyoi Staff
The biggest highlight of the update is the Nyoi Staff, a new weapon with its own skill set and powerful synergy with specific builds.
The weapon includes several abilities such as:
- Thunderclap
- Bolt Rush
- Infinite Reach
These abilities give the weapon strong offensive potential and make it useful in high-level combat situations.
What makes the Nyoi Staff even stronger is its synergy with Kashimo Clan. When used with this clan, the weapon receives major bonuses such as increased attack, critical damage, and damage reduction.
Example buffs when combined with Kashimo Clan include:
- +160 Attack
- +30% Critical Rate
- +10% Damage Reduction
- +5% Damage Amplifier
- +150% Critical Damage
- +150% Attack
Because of these buffs, many players believe the Nyoi Staff + Kashimo Clan + Mythical Beast Amber combination may become one of the strongest builds in the game.
When Mythical Beast Amber is active, the weapon also gains improved effects such as:
- Higher damage
- Larger hitboxes
- Enhanced skill visuals
This clearly shows that the weapon is designed to work as part of a specific high-end build.
How to Get Nyoi Staff
The Nyoi Staff can be obtained as a rare drop from Lightning Crates.
Lightning Crates are rewarded in the new raid called Awakened God of Lightning.
This raid is designed for high-level players and requires a character level between 1000 and 1500+.
The raid includes multiple difficulty options:
- Easy
- Medium
- Hard
- Nightmare
- Calamity
Since the raid also drops a new gear set, it is one of the most important pieces of content to farm in the update.
New Emblem Gear Slot
One of the most important long-term progression systems added in this update is the Emblem gear slot.
Previously, players used only the standard gear setup. Now the game introduces a fourth gear slot specifically for emblems.
This slot allows players to gain extra stats and additional customization options.
How to Unlock Emblems
The emblem slot is unlocked through the Investigation Shop.
This means investigations remain a core part of the game’s progression even after the raid update.
Currently the main emblem available is:
Eido Emblem
Each emblem can roll random stats, meaning every drop is different.
Players can also reroll stat values through an NPC, allowing them to optimize the emblem over time.
Because of this system, emblems become part of a long-term min-max progression grind.
New Ailment System
Another major feature added in the update is the Ailment System.
Ailments are status effects that can be applied to emblem gear. Only one ailment can be active at a time, so choosing the right one is important.
Applying a new ailment replaces the previous one.
To apply ailments, players must visit:
- Ailment I NPC
- Ailment II NPC
Special materials are required to unlock these effects.
Grade 1 Ailments
Grade 1 ailments are easier to obtain and offer basic combat effects.
Burn
Burn deals damage over time through ticking damage.
This is a simple but reliable way to increase damage during fights.
Freeze
Freeze stuns enemies and also applies tick damage.
This ailment is useful for controlling enemies and interrupting attacks.
Special Grade Ailments
Special grade ailments are stronger and more impactful.
Chained
Chained instantly breaks the enemy’s toughness bar and stuns them.
During this period, enemies take 1.5x damage, making it extremely powerful during boss fights.
Electrocute
Electrocute deals high tick damage when triggered.
This effect is very strong for damage builds.
Bleed
Bleed deals a percentage of the enemy’s maximum health plus tick damage.
This makes it especially effective against bosses with high HP.
Ailment Materials
To apply ailments, players must collect special materials such as:
- Flame Fragment
- Snowflake
- Thunderbolt
- Cursed Chains
- Blood Residue
Most of these materials are obtained through Eido Crates in Investigation mode.
Because of this, investigation content remains very important even after the raid update.
Investigation Changes
The update also improves the investigation system.
A new difficulty level has been introduced:
Nightmare Difficulty
This gives stronger players a proper late-game challenge.
The investigation difficulty progression now looks like this:
- Easy – Level 300
- Normal – Level 750
- Hard – Level 1350
- Nightmare – Late game difficulty
The system was also rebalanced so that finding secrets plays a bigger role in scoring.
Players who want the best rewards must explore rooms carefully instead of rushing through the investigation.
Raid Economy Changes
The update also changed raid rewards.
Two important adjustments were made:
- Yen and Lumens drops were reduced
- XP rewards were increased
This means raids are now better for leveling up rather than farming currency.
To balance this change, the Yen cost of evolution quests was reduced, making progression slightly easier overall.
New Codes
The update also includes two new redeemable codes.
Nyoi
Rewards:
- 3000 Lumens
- 50 Clan Rolls
140KLikes
Rewards:
- 3000 Lumens
- 25 Clan Rolls
These codes provide free resources and should be redeemed immediately.
With such a large update, it can be hard to decide what to prioritize.
The best order for progression is:
First, redeem the available codes to get free resources.
Next, if your level is high enough, begin farming the Awakened God of Lightning raid to try obtaining the Nyoi Staff and new gear set.
At the same time, continue completing Investigations to unlock emblems and collect materials for ailments.
Raids provide short-term power upgrades, while investigations contribute to long-term account progression.
