If you’ve jumped into the latest Legacy Piece update, you’ve probably already noticed that there’s quite a bit to grind for. Two of the biggest additions are Star Platinum and Bankai Ichigo, and honestly, both are worth checking out if you’re already deep into the game.
The good news is that getting Star Platinum isn’t ridiculously complicated. Bankai Ichigo is where things start getting a little annoying, especially when you reach the boss-farming requirements.
I went through the requirements step by step, so let’s break down exactly what you need, where to go, and which parts of the grind you should prepare for.
Legacy Piece Star Platinum & Bankai Ichigo Guide
To start the Star Platinum questline, you’ll need Joar.
Once you have Joar, head over to the newest island. This is where the first part of the quest begins.
You’re looking for a broken pedestal with a purple crystal. It’s not some complicated puzzle or anything like that. Just find the pedestal and interact with the crystal to progress.
From here, the game starts throwing the actual farming requirements at you.
Star Platinum Quest Requirements
There are several objectives you need to finish before the game lets you purchase Star Platinum.
Here’s the full list:
- Defeat 40 spawnable bosses
- Collect 50 Starlight Shards
- Dodge 50 attacks using Observation Haki
- Collect 25 Starlight Cores
None of these requirements are particularly difficult on their own, but the final one can definitely take some time.
Defeat 40 Spawnable Bosses
The first major task is pretty simple: defeat 40 spawnable bosses.
You don’t need to overthink this one. If you have access to the JJK bosses, they’re a pretty comfortable choice because they’re relatively easy to deal with compared to some of the tankier bosses.
So, rather than wasting time trying to fight something unnecessarily difficult, just farm bosses you’re already comfortable beating.
Get your 40 kills done and move on.
How to Get 50 Starlight Shards
Next up are Starlight Shards.
You need 50 of them, and they can drop from several different bosses:
- Chora
- Aaron
- Red Mist
- Demon Infernal
Personally, I’d recommend sticking with whichever one you can kill the fastest. There isn’t much point fighting a boss that takes forever just because it’s technically on the list.
If you already have a strong build, this part shouldn’t be too painful.
How to Dodge 50 Times Using Observation Haki
This one sounds more complicated than it actually is.
You simply need to successfully dodge attacks 50 times while using Observation Haki.
You can work on this while fighting bosses rather than treating it as a completely separate grind. That’s the easiest way to get it done without feeling like you’re deliberately wasting time.
Just make sure you’re actually using Observation Haki and successfully dodging attacks. Once you’ve reached 50, you can forget about this requirement.
How to Get 25 Starlight Cores
This is probably the part you’re going to spend the most time on.
You need 25 Starlight Cores, and they can be obtained from:
- Ancient Deep Shark
- Solemn Lament
- Undy
- Ichigo Bankai Boss
If you’re wondering which boss to farm, Ancient Deep Shark or Ichigo Bankai are good options.
The Ichigo Bankai Boss can be spawned on Hollow Island, although there’s one small problem: this guy has around 100 million HP.
Yeah, you’re going to be there for a while if your damage isn’t up to scratch.
If you’ve got a strong character such as Gojo or Flashy Flash, the fight becomes much more manageable.
For newer players, I’d honestly just farm whichever boss you can kill consistently. Speed matters more than trying to force yourself through a boss that takes ages.
How to Unlock Star Platinum
Once you’ve completed all four requirements, head back to the NPC that gave you the quest.
You’ll then be able to purchase Star Platinum.
And that’s basically it.
The actual obtainment isn’t too bad. The 40 bosses and Observation Haki requirements are pretty straightforward, while the 25 Starlight Cores are where the real farming begins.
Once you have Star Platinum, you can start working on its enchanting and ascending to make it even stronger.
Star Platinum Moveset and Passive
Star Platinum comes with its own unique passive and moveset, so don’t expect it to simply be another reskin of an existing stand.
The moves are pretty decent overall, although personally, I think some of the other abilities in Legacy Piece have more impressive visuals.
That doesn’t mean Star Platinum is bad, though. If you’re already collecting the newer content or want to experiment with another powerful stand, it’s definitely worth getting.
And honestly, part of the fun is having the new stuff before everyone gets bored of it.
How to Get Bankai Ichigo in Legacy Piece
Now we get to the grindier part of the update.
Bankai Ichigo isn’t obtained in exactly the same way as Star Platinum. Instead, you’re unlocking a new passive for the legendary Zangetsu weapon.
To begin the questline, head to Hollow Island and talk to the new NPC.
There are three main quests you need to complete.
Bankai Ichigo Quest 1 – Collect 30 Echoes
The first requirement is to collect 30 Echoes.
To do this, you need to defeat 30 World Bosses.
You can basically choose whichever World Boss works best for your build. If you have an elemental advantage against a particular boss, that’s obviously the one I’d recommend.
You can also farm the Eto boss if that’s easier for you.
This is one of those requirements where I wouldn’t recommend making things harder than they need to be. Pick the boss you can kill quickly and repeat it until you’ve got all 30 Echoes.
Bankai Ichigo Quest 2 – Collect the Three Remnants
This is where the Bankai grind starts getting serious.
You’ll need several materials from different bosses.
Fragment of Stilled Rayi
You need 10 Fragment of Stilled Rayi.
These come from the Do boss, so you’ll need to farm that boss until you’ve collected all 10.
Abyssal Hollow Heart
The Abyssal Hollow Heart comes from Ancient Deep Shark.
If you’ve already been farming Ancient Deep Shark for Starlight Cores, this is actually pretty convenient because you can potentially make progress toward both grinds at the same time.
Crimson Wood Remnant
For the Crimson Wood Remnant, you’ll need to farm Red Mist.
Again, this is another boss you’ll probably become very familiar with during the grind.
Hollow Reaper
Finally, there’s the Hollow Reaper, which comes from the Ichigo Bankai Boss.
And yes, that’s the same boss with roughly 100 million HP.
So if you aren’t prepared for that fight, now is definitely the time to improve your damage.
How to Complete the Sea of Blade Quest
After finishing the material requirements, you’ll reach the final quest: Sea of Blade.
This one is different from the usual boss farming.
You’ll be teleported into a special area where you have to select the true Zangetsu.
This is the part where you really don’t want to randomly guess.
If you choose incorrectly, you’ll receive a 10-minute cooldown, meaning you’ll have to wait before trying again.
Once you successfully select the correct Zangetsu, you’ll automatically unlock Bankai.
So take your time here. After spending all that time farming bosses, getting hit with a cooldown because you clicked the wrong sword would be incredibly painful.
