Overworld Weapons Guide – All Melee, Ranged, and Magic

Published 29 Aug 2026, 6:09 am · 10 min read

Weapons are one of the most important parts of progression in Overworld. The game gives you several different types of weapons to choose from, including melee weapons, ranged weapons, and magic weapons, so you can build your character around the playstyle you enjoy.

In this Overworld Weapons Guide, I’ll go through all of the currently listed weapons, including their rarity, damage, requirements, and sell price. I’ll also explain how the weapon system works, especially the difference between Perfected and Diminished weapons.

If you’re just starting out, don’t worry about getting the strongest weapon immediately. Your Combat, Bowing, and other progression requirements will naturally unlock better equipment as you play. Focus on using something appropriate for your current level and upgrade as you progress.

Overworld Weapons Guide – All Melee, Ranged, and Magic

Overworld has three main weapon categories:

• Melee Weapons

• Ranged Weapons

• Magic Weapons

Weapons can be crafted, obtained as enemy loot, or purchased.

One thing that makes crafted weapons interesting is that their stats aren’t always exactly the same.

Perfected and Diminished Weapons

Crafted weapons have randomized stats within a specific range.

If you get a weapon with stats at the highest end of its possible range, it is labeled Perfected.

On the other hand, weapons with stats at the lowest end of their range are labeled Diminished.

Some weapons can also have additional stats beyond their basic Damage value.

Because of this, two weapons with the same name can potentially perform differently depending on the stats you receive.

Melee Weapons

Melee weapons are designed for close-range combat.

The current melee weapon selection includes Swords, Axes, and Maces.

Swords are one of the easiest melee weapon types to understand.

As you progress through the game, you’ll find stronger versions of the basic Sword line, with higher Damage and increasing Combat requirements.

• Diminished Damage: 9–10

• Diminished Damage: 11–12

Silver Sword

• Rarity: Rare

• Perfected Damage: 15–16

• Diminished Damage: 13–14

• Requirement: 30 Combat

• Diminished Damage: 9–10

• Requirement: 15 Combat

Iron Longsword

• Rarity: Uncommon

• Requirement: 25 Combat

A Perfected version can reach 21 Damage, making it a strong melee choice once you have the required 35 Combat.

Axes

Axes are another melee option, but some of them provide an additional Gathering Speed stat.

That means they can be useful for more than just combat.

Bronze War Axe

• Rarity: Common

• Perfected Damage: 9–12

• Diminished Damage: 7–8

• Gathering Speed: 2–3

• Diminished Damage: 11–12

It has up to 13 Perfected Damage while retaining the Gathering Speed bonus.

Maces

Maces provide another close-range option.

The current list includes basic wooden and silver weapons, along with two Exceedingly Rare weapons that provide additional bonuses.

Wooden Club

• Rarity: Common

• Perfected Damage: 7–8

• Diminished Damage: 4–5

• Damage: 14

• Melee Bonus: 4

• Damage Resistance: 2

• Requirement: 35 Combat

• Sell Price: 1,000

Goblin Flail is more interesting than the basic maces because it has additional stats.

Alongside 14 Damage, you get 4 Melee Bonus and 2 Damage Resistance.

These additional stats can make it useful beyond its basic Damage number.

Crusader Mace

• Rarity: Exceedingly Rare

• Damage: 17

• Melee Bonus: 8

• Magic Bonus: Available

• Requirement: 35 Combat

• Sell Price: 1,000

Crusader Mace is another Exceedingly Rare weapon.

It provides 17 Damage and an 8 Melee Bonus, along with a Magic Bonus.

If you’re looking for a more specialized weapon with multiple stats, this is one of the more interesting options in the current list.

Ranged Weapons

If you don’t enjoy fighting enemies up close, Overworld also has ranged weapons.

The current ranged section includes Bows and Arrows.

Bows

Your Bow determines the ranged weapon progression, while Arrows provide their own Damage values.

Wooden Bow

• Rarity: Common

• Requirement: 1 Bowing

• Sell Price: 21

Wooden Bow is the basic ranged option.

With only 1 Bowing required, it’s easy for new players to start experimenting with ranged combat.

Willow Bow

• Rarity: Uncommon

• Requirement: 15 Bowing

• Sell Price: 75

Willow Bow requires 15 Bowing.

It’s a natural progression from the Wooden Bow as you develop your ranged skills.

Birch Bow

• Rarity: Rare

• Requirement: 30 Bowing

• Sell Price: 145

Birch Bow requires 30 Bowing and is the next step in the ranged progression.

If you’re committed to using a Bow, this is one of the upgrades you’ll eventually work toward.

Pine Bow

• Rarity: Very Rare

• Requirement: 40 Bowing

• Sell Price: 210

Pine Bow is currently the highest-rarity Bow listed.

You’ll need 40 Bowing to use it, so this is more of a long-term ranged progression goal.

Arrows

Arrows provide their own Damage values.

You’ll want to keep your Arrow choice in mind when building a ranged setup.

Stone Arrow

• Rarity: Ordinary

• Damage: 10

• Sell Price: 1

Stone Arrow is the basic ammunition option.

It’s inexpensive and easy to use while you’re starting out.

Bronze Arrow

• Rarity: Common

• Damage: 12

• Sell Price: 2

Bronze Arrow increases the Damage to 12.

It’s a simple upgrade from Stone Arrow.

Iron Arrow

• Rarity: Uncommon

• Damage: 14

• Sell Price: 3

Iron Arrow provides 14 Damage.

As you progress through the ranged system, this becomes another straightforward upgrade.

Silver Arrow

• Rarity: Rare

• Damage: 16

• Sell Price: 5

Silver Arrow currently has the highest listed Damage among the available Arrow options.

It provides 16 Damage and has a Rare rarity.

Magic Weapons

If melee and ranged combat aren’t your thing, you can also use Magic weapons.

The current Magic section consists of Spell Books and Staff-style weapons.

Air Bolt Staff

• Damage: 5

• Sell Price: 50

Air Bolt Staff is one of the basic magic weapons.

It provides 5 Damage and is a simple starting option for players interested in magical attacks.

Water Bolt Staff

• Damage: 5

• Sell Price: 75

Water Bolt Staff also provides 5 Damage.

The higher sell price makes it different from Air Bolt Staff despite having the same listed Damage.

Fireball Staff

• Damage: 8

• Sell Price: 100

Fireball Staff increases the Damage to 8.

If you’re progressing through the basic magic weapons, this is a natural upgrade.

Necromancer’s Staff

• Damage: 9

• Sell Price: 100

Necromancer’s Staff provides 9 Damage.

It has the same listed sell price as Fireball Staff while offering slightly higher Damage.

Staff Of The Dead

• Damage: 80

• Sell Price: 1,200

Staff Of The Dead is in a completely different league from the other listed magic weapons.

It provides a massive 80 Damage, compared with the 5–9 Damage of the earlier Staffs.

Because of that huge increase, this is clearly a weapon you’ll want to keep in mind for later progression.

Which Weapon Should Beginners Use?

If you’re just starting Overworld, I wouldn’t worry too much about chasing rare equipment.

Your first goal should be to build up the relevant skill requirements and use whatever weapon is appropriate for your current progression.

For Melee Players

Swords are a simple choice if you want straightforward close-range combat.

Axes are worth considering if you also care about Gathering Speed, while Maces can become more interesting later when you unlock weapons with additional bonuses.

For Ranged Players

If you prefer keeping your distance, go with a Bow.

You’ll need to develop your Bowing skill to unlock stronger options.

Remember that your Arrows also have their own Damage values, so don’t ignore your ammunition when upgrading your ranged setup.

For Magic Players

Magic is another option if you prefer attacking through magical weapons.

The early Staffs have relatively low Damage, but the progression eventually leads to much stronger options such as Staff Of The Dead.

The weapon system in Overworld gives you plenty of ways to build your character.

You can choose between melee, ranged, and magic weapons, and each category has its own progression path.

One of the more interesting parts of the system is that crafted weapons can have randomized stats. A Perfected weapon has stats at the top of its possible range, while a Diminished weapon sits at the bottom.

Because of that, don’t judge a weapon only by its name. If you’re crafting equipment, pay attention to the actual stats you receive.

For beginners, I’d recommend keeping things simple. Pick the combat style you enjoy, work toward the required Combat or Bowing levels, and upgrade your equipment as better options become available.

As you progress further, you can start experimenting with weapons that have additional bonuses and build a setup specifically around the type of content you want to play.
