Peroxide Vasto Lorde Guide – New Moves, Build and PvP Tips

Vasto Lorde has received some interesting changes, including access to additional moves that can make the build feel very different from the older version. If you previously played Vasto Lorde as a character focused on landing one massive damage combo, the newer options give you more opportunities to extend combos, break guards, and pressure opponents.

The build is still naturally powerful because of its strong base stats and dual-scaling potential. You also get access to useful defensive mechanics, making Vasto Lorde surprisingly durable even without relying on a traditional transformation mode.

After testing the new moves in PvP, I think Vasto Lorde feels much more enjoyable to play now. Some of the new options take practice to use properly, especially in real matches, but they can be extremely effective once you understand their timing.

In this guide, I’ll go through the new moves available to Vasto Lorde, the build used, recommended gems and accessories, weapon changes, and some important PvP tips.

One of the biggest improvements is that Vasto Lorde now has access to more combat options.

Flying Knee is one of the most interesting additions because it can be used as a combo extender. It is slightly harder to land consistently compared to some traditional combo extenders, especially against real players.

Using it against a training dummy is one thing, but landing it during an actual ranked fight requires better timing and positioning.

However, the move is still very useful because it can also function as a strong guard break. Even if you do not use it perfectly as an extender every time, it gives Vasto Lorde another dangerous option when pressuring an opponent.

I would recommend spending some time practicing the timing before taking the build seriously into ranked matches.

Vasto Lorde also has access to Hollow Uppercut.

This move can potentially be used as an extender, although it is not necessarily the highest-damage option available. It can help keep your opponent in a combo, but its overall effectiveness depends heavily on the situation.

One issue is that the move does not appear to provide the same level of damage or utility as some other options. It may still have a place in certain combinations, but I would personally experiment with other moves as well.

Banishing Hunt remains an interesting choice for the build.

One advantage of this move is that you can use pushback setups into it, giving you another way to continue your offensive pressure. However, it can occasionally feel buggy or inconsistent during combat.

Because of that, you need to be careful about relying on it too heavily during an important ranked fight.

The Vasto Lorde build shown uses the following stats:

• 200 Strength

• 200 Vitality

• 200 Spirit

These stats are part of what makes Vasto Lorde such a powerful build. It benefits from strong offensive scaling while also having plenty of durability.

Since Vasto Lorde is a dual-scaling build, it can deal extremely high damage while still maintaining strong survivability.

The build uses several accessories focused on resistance and survivability.

Creeping Hunger is used with Strength Resistance.

Noitora’s Outfit is equipped with Spirit Resistance.

This outfit works particularly well with Hierro. Normally, Hierro comes with a Reatsu-related downside, but the Noitora outfit helps reduce the impact of that problem.

This combination makes the build much more comfortable to use in longer fights.

The Beyond Eye Patch is also used with Spirit Resistance.

The build also uses:

• Hollowfied with Boxer

• Red Ruby Faberge with Strength Resistance

Resistance is important because Vasto Lorde already has strong offensive potential. Improving your survivability can make it much harder for opponents to take you down.

The build does not necessarily require a gem on every single move, but several moves benefit from Prodigy.

Prodigy is used on:

• Acid Spit

• Eye Core

• Negacion

• Wind

• Banishing Hunt

• Hierro

• Sequacious

Flash Mirage does not have a gem in this setup.

Flying Knee also does not have a gem equipped, although Reap is suggested as a possible option.

Your exact gem choices can change depending on your preferred playstyle, but improving the moves you use most often is generally the best approach.

Older Vasto Lorde builds often focused heavily on massive burst damage.

A common strategy was to use moves such as Ferocity and Grand Rey Cero to create one huge combo capable of dealing enormous damage.

The newer build feels more flexible.

Instead of depending entirely on one massive combo, you now have more options for extending fights, applying pressure, breaking guards, and repeatedly forcing your opponent into dangerous situations.

This makes the build feel more active and gives you more ways to adapt during a ranked match.

One of the attacks available to the build works similarly to a significantly improved version of Bala.

The attack can apply Acid while also dealing strong damage, and it has a relatively short cooldown.

This gives you a useful ranged option for pressuring opponents and picking up extra damage.

Because of its cooldown and utility, it can be useful for repeatedly forcing opponents to react.

You should not simply throw it out without thinking, though. Watch your opponent’s movement and try to use it when they are vulnerable or when you expect them to move into its path.

One of the biggest strengths of Vasto Lorde is its survivability.

Even without a traditional mode, the build has a lot of health thanks to its naturally boosted base stats. Hierro adds another layer of protection and can dramatically reduce incoming damage.

During fights, attacks that might normally deal significant damage can become much less threatening.

The usual downside of Hierro is related to Reatsu consumption, but using Noitora’s Outfit helps make this much less of a problem.

This combination is one reason the build can survive for so long in PvP.

The clone mechanic can also be very useful.

Your opponent has to deal with another threat while trying to fight you, which can create openings for attacks and combos.

However, you need to use the clone intelligently.

It can sometimes be cancelled, so simply throwing it out at the wrong moment may waste the ability. Try to use it when your opponent is already occupied or when you can create enough distance to benefit from the extra pressure.

Waiting for an opponent to deal with the clone can sometimes slow the fight down, but it can also create valuable opportunities.

Vasto Lorde also benefits from weapon-related changes.

Fist weapons now have a faster M2, with the attack coming out approximately 10% quicker.

That difference might not sound huge on paper, but it can definitely be felt during PvP.

The faster M2 gives you another advantage when fighting opponents at close range.

Other weapon types also received special effects.

Fist weapons have a faster M2.

Daggers can deal chip damage through blocks.

The final M1 attack can guard break.

Normal swords are the exception to these particular weapon changes.

After the buffs, Vasto Lorde has several major strengths.

The dual-scaling nature of the build allows it to deal ridiculous amounts of damage.

Hierro, boosted base stats, and resistance-focused accessories make the build extremely difficult to kill.

Moves such as Flying Knee provide strong guard-breaking options.

The additional moves give Vasto Lorde more ways to continue combos than before.

Vasto Lorde can feel like it has a constant evasive advantage available during combat.

The Acid-based attack provides a powerful ranged option with a short cooldown.

I would not immediately say that Vasto Lorde is completely dominating the meta, but it definitely feels much stronger and much more fun after the changes.

The combination of high damage, excellent durability, new moves, guard breaks, and combo potential makes it a serious PvP build.

Even against opponents with powerful modes available, Vasto Lorde can still compete surprisingly well.

The biggest advantage is that you do not have to rely entirely on one massive combo anymore. You have more options and can adapt your strategy depending on the opponent.

Flying Knee can be difficult to use consistently as a combo extender.

Spend time learning the timing because landing it in ranked matches is much harder than landing it against training dummies.

Do not waste your clone.

Try to place it when it can actually create pressure or protect you from an incoming situation.

Vasto Lorde has excellent survivability.

Do not panic when you take damage. Hierro and your naturally high health can allow you to survive situations that would be much more dangerous for other builds.

The build has many useful moves, but you can still end up in trouble if everything is on cooldown.

Sometimes backing away briefly and waiting for your abilities is the smarter choice.

Guard breaks are one of your biggest strengths.

After landing one, make sure you understand the timing for following up with M1 attacks or other combo options.

The timing can feel slightly awkward at first, so practice is important.

Ferocity can still be powerful, but you should not simply use it randomly.

Raw Ferocity is generally not a good idea.

It is much better when you already have control of the fight or when your opponent is in a situation where you can properly capitalize on it.

Using powerful abilities without a setup can leave you vulnerable and waste valuable opportunities.

Try to use Ferocity when you are already winning the exchange or when you have created a reliable opening.

The new Vasto Lorde changes make the build much more interesting than the older version.

Instead of relying mainly on one massive damage combo, you now have access to additional moves that improve your guard-breaking, combo extension, and overall pressure.

Flying Knee is probably one of the most important moves to learn, even though it takes practice to use consistently. Hollow Uppercut gives you another possible option, while Banishing Hunt can work well in certain pushback setups.

Combine those moves with Vasto Lorde’s naturally high damage, boosted stats, Hierro, strong accessories, and faster fist M2 attacks, and you get a build that feels extremely strong in PvP.

It may take some time to learn all the new options properly, but once you get comfortable with the build, Vasto Lorde can be both powerful and incredibly fun to play.
