Pixel Blade Books Guide – Armor & Weapon Books, Effects
Published 8 Sept 2026, 7:02 am · 12 min read
Books are one of the more interesting upgrade systems in Pixel Blade because they do not simply make your character stronger. Every Book gives us a useful bonus, but there is always a downside attached to it. This means choosing the right Book can make a big difference depending on the weapon, armor, and build you are using.
In this post, we will go through all Books currently available in Pixel Blade, including every Armor Book and Weapon Book. I will explain what each Book does, its negative effect, maximum upgrade level, and which ones are generally worth using.
If you are still learning how the Book system works or trying to decide which enchantments fit your build, this guide should help you understand the important choices before spending your Pages.

Pixel Blade Books Guide – Armor & Weapon Books, Effects
Books are special upgrade items that provide your character or equipment with a buff in exchange for a nerf.
For example, one Book might increase your movement speed but reduce another combat stat. Another could improve your damage while making your abilities take longer to recharge.
This balance system means that there is no perfect Book for every situation. A Book that works extremely well with one build might be a terrible choice for another.
Books are divided into two main categories:
• Armor Books

• Weapon Books
Each Book also has its own maximum upgrade level, shown using Roman numerals. Both the positive and negative effects generally become stronger as you increase the Book’s level.
How to Get Books in Pixel Blade
To obtain Books, you need to head to the Fishing Island and fish for Pages.
You need 8 Pages to create one Book enchant, so you will need to spend some time fishing if you want to collect multiple Books for different builds.
Because Books can have very different effects, I recommend thinking about your build before using your Pages. Some Books are excellent for general gameplay, while others are much more specialized.

All Armor Books in Pixel Blade
Armor Books focus on changing your character’s survivability, movement, healing, stamina, and other general stats.
Here is every Armor Book and what it does.
Wings
Buff: Gives you a permanent double jump.
The Wings Book is especially interesting because its double jump can stack with Raven’s Shadow Boots, allowing you to effectively get a triple jump.

Nerf: Reduces your maximum stamina by 20%.
Maximum Level: I
Wings is a good mobility option for players who enjoy moving around quickly and reaching places that are difficult to access. However, the stamina penalty means you need to consider whether your build depends heavily on stamina.
Berserk
Buff: Deals more damage when you have lower health, reaching up to a major damage multiplier depending on the level.
Nerf: Ability cooldown increases by 15% per level.

Maximum Level: II
Berserk is best suited for aggressive players who are comfortable fighting while their health is low. The damage potential can be very useful, but longer ability cooldowns can become a serious disadvantage.
This is not necessarily the safest Book for beginners, but skilled players can get a lot out of it.
Elixir
Buff: Potions become 25% more effective per level.
Nerf: Ability stamina consumption increases by 5% per level.

Maximum Level: II
Elixir improves your potion effectiveness, which sounds useful for survival-focused builds.
However, compared to other Armor Books, the trade-off can make it less attractive. If your abilities already consume a lot of stamina, the additional stamina cost can become annoying.
For most builds, there are usually stronger options available.
Magnet
Buff: Spirit collection range increases by 100% per level.
Nerf: Campfires heal 20% less per level.
Maximum Level: III
Magnet is one of the best general-purpose Armor Books.
The increased Spirit collection range makes gathering Spirits much easier, especially during fast-paced combat where you do not want to run around collecting everything manually.
The campfire healing penalty is usually easier to deal with compared to the convenience provided by the larger collection range.
For many builds, Magnet is a very strong choice.
Greed
Buff: Increases loot pull by 1 per level.
Nerf: Health decreases by 20% per level.
Maximum Level: III
Greed can be extremely useful, but it comes with a major downside.
The additional loot pull can help you gather more rewards, making it attractive for farming and experienced players. However, losing a large amount of health can make your character much easier to kill.
I would mainly recommend Greed for players who are confident in their movement and survival skills.
Speed
Buff: Increases movement speed by 15% per level.
Nerf: Lowers Critical Damage by 10% per level.
Maximum Level: III
Speed is an excellent choice for mobility-focused builds.
Extra movement speed can help you dodge enemies, move between objectives faster, and maintain better positioning during combat.
The downside is reduced Critical Damage, so this Book may not be ideal for builds that depend heavily on critical hits.
If your setup values mobility more than critical damage, Speed can be a great option.
Nature
Buff: Spirits heal 50% more per level and can also heal teammates when picked up.
Nerf: Spirit damage decreases by 20% per level.
Maximum Level: III
Nature is a strong option for players who want additional healing and team utility.
The improved Spirit healing can help keep you alive, while the ability to heal teammates makes it particularly useful when playing with others.
The reduced Spirit damage means you sacrifice offensive power, so Nature works best with survival or support-oriented setups.
Resistance
Buff: Gives you a regenerating passive shield worth 15% per level.
Nerf: Dash regeneration takes 20% longer per level.
Maximum Level: IV
Resistance provides one of the strongest defensive effects among the Armor Books.
A regenerating shield can significantly improve your survivability, especially during difficult fights.
However, the slower dash regeneration can hurt your mobility. This means you need to decide whether your build benefits more from stronger defense or frequent movement.
Resistance can be particularly useful with the right defensive equipment, although some builds may prefer keeping it at a lower level depending on their setup.
All Weapon Books in Pixel Blade
Weapon Books are focused more heavily on combat. They can change your attacks, abilities, stamina usage, damage, and special mechanics.
Smite
Buff: Melee attacks have a 20% chance to smite enemies, dealing damage and stunning them.
Nerf: Movement speed is reduced by 10%.
Maximum Level: I
Smite is a strong general Weapon Book because the stun effect can give you more control during combat.
The speed reduction is noticeable, but the chance to stun and damage enemies makes it a worthwhile trade-off for many melee builds.
Spear Phish
Buff: Spear Lunge using M2 does not consume stamina.
Nerf: Spear Lunge receives a short cooldown.
Maximum Level: I
Spear Phish is designed specifically for Spear builds.
The stamina-free lunge can be very useful for players who rely heavily on their spear’s mobility and attacks.
However, there is no reason to use this Book with other weapon types.
If you use a Spear, it can be a very useful specialized choice.
Wind Gust
Buff: Swinging your weapon creates a small wind gust that pulls enemies toward you.
Nerf: Base damage decreases by 15% per level.
Maximum Level: II
Wind Gust provides a useful crowd-control effect by pulling enemies closer.
At Level I, it can be a strong option for many builds because of its utility.
However, upgrading it further increases the damage penalty, which can make Wind Gust II much less appealing.
For that reason, many players prefer using this Book only at Level I.
Stamina Spirits
Buff: Spirits provide 250% more energy per level.
Nerf: Spirits provide less speed per level.
Maximum Level: III
Stamina Spirits works best with builds that need a large amount of energy.
If you rely heavily on stamina or energy-consuming abilities, the increased energy from Spirits can make a noticeable difference.
The reduced speed effect means it is better suited to builds that do not depend heavily on mobility.
Ability Strength
Buff: Increases direct ability damage by 10% per level.
Nerf: Ability cooldown increases by 6% per level.
Maximum Level: III
Ability Strength is an excellent choice for builds that rely heavily on damaging abilities.
It is important to remember that this Book only affects abilities that directly deal damage.
If your build uses powerful offensive skills, the increased damage can be worth the longer cooldowns.
However, players who rely on constantly using abilities may prefer another option.
Necromance
Buff: Increases the chance of spawning a Necromancer Ghoul when a teammate kills a basic enemy.
Nerf: Energy regeneration decreases by 10% per level.
Maximum Level: III
Necromance is a more specialized Weapon Book.
The Ghoul spawning mechanic can be interesting for certain team setups, especially when fighting large numbers of basic enemies.
However, reduced energy regeneration can hurt builds that rely heavily on abilities.
I would mainly recommend this one for players who specifically want to build around its unique summoning effect.
Cripple
Buff: Parrying deals additional weapon damage, while the stun duration from a parry increases significantly per level.
Nerf: Damage taken increases by 10% per level.
Maximum Level: III
Cripple is designed for players who are confident with their parrying.
If you can consistently land parries, the increased damage and longer stun can be extremely powerful.
The downside is that you take more damage, which makes mistakes more dangerous.
One important thing to remember is that this Book is generally not recommended for Spear builds.
Overhead
Buff: Damage increases by 20% per level while you are airborne.
Nerf: Damage decreases by 10% per level while you are on the ground.
Maximum Level: IV
Overhead is a very interesting Book for players who use aerial combat.
If your playstyle involves jumping and attacking from the air, you can gain a significant damage bonus.
However, you lose damage while standing on the ground, so you need to actively build your fighting style around staying airborne.
When used with the right movement setup, Overhead can be extremely powerful.
Aerodynamic
Buff: Gives you a larger damage boost as your movement speed increases.
Nerf: Health decreases by 20% per level.
Maximum Level: IV
Aerodynamic is built for fast characters.
The faster you move, the more value you can potentially get from the Book’s damage bonus. This makes it a natural choice for movement-heavy builds.
The major problem is the health reduction. At higher levels, losing a large amount of health can make your character much more vulnerable.
I recommend Aerodynamic mainly for players who are comfortable with high-risk, high-speed gameplay.
Best Armor Books for Most Builds
Some Armor Books can work well with almost every type of setup.
1. Magnet
Magnet is probably one of the safest general choices because the larger Spirit collection range provides useful utility without forcing you to completely change your playstyle.
2. Greed
Greed can also be extremely valuable because of its loot benefits.
However, the health reduction makes it much more skill-dependent. If you are comfortable surviving with lower health, Greed can be very rewarding.
Best Weapon Books for Most Builds
For general Weapon builds, these Books are among the strongest options to consider.
1. Wind Gust I
Wind Gust I provides useful crowd control by pulling enemies toward you.
I recommend being careful about upgrading it further because the base damage penalty becomes more significant.
2. Smite
Smite is a strong general melee option thanks to its chance to damage and stun enemies.
3. Overhead
Overhead can be extremely powerful for players who actively fight while airborne.
It works best when your build and movement style allow you to take advantage of the aerial damage bonus.
4. Spear Phish
Spear Phish is excellent, but only if you are using a Spear.
For other weapon types, you should choose a different Book.
Good Books for Specific Builds
Not every Book works well with every setup. Some become much stronger when combined with the right equipment and playstyle.
Speed
Use Speed if your build benefits heavily from mobility.
Nature
Nature is useful for healing and support-focused players, particularly when playing with teammates.
Resistance
Resistance is a strong defensive option for builds that can handle the slower dash regeneration.
Berserk
Berserk works well for aggressive players who are comfortable fighting at lower health.
Wings
Wings is a great mobility choice, especially if you want to create a build focused on aerial movement.
Stamina Spirits
Stamina Spirits is useful for energy-heavy builds.
Ability Strength
Use Ability Strength when your character relies heavily on damaging abilities.
Aerodynamic
Aerodynamic is best paired with fast movement builds that can take advantage of its speed-based damage bonus.
Necromance
Necromance is mainly useful for players who want to experiment with its Ghoul spawning mechanic.
Cripple
Cripple can be powerful for experienced players who consistently land parries.
Just avoid using it with Spears.
Worst Books to Use
Some Books are generally harder to justify compared to the alternatives.
Elixir
Elixir improves potion effectiveness, but the increased stamina cost for abilities can be difficult to manage.
Unless your entire build is focused heavily on potions, other Armor Books will usually provide more useful benefits.
Wind Gust II
Wind Gust can be useful at Level I, but upgrading it to Level II increases the damage penalty further.
For many builds, the additional range is not worth losing more base damage.
Which Books Should You Choose?
The best Book depends heavily on your build.
If you want a safe and useful general setup, Magnet is one of the best Armor Books to consider. For Weapon Books, Smite and Wind Gust I can provide useful effects without requiring a highly specialized build.
Players focused on mobility can experiment with Speed, Wings, and Aerodynamic. Meanwhile, defensive players may prefer Resistance or Nature.
If you use a Spear, Spear Phish should be one of the first Books you consider. Players who enjoy aerial combat should look at Overhead.
The important thing is to remember that every Book comes with a downside. Instead of only looking at the buff, always check whether the nerf will hurt the rest of your build.
The Book system in Pixel Blade gives us a lot of ways to customize our characters, but every choice comes with a trade-off. Some Books provide better movement, others increase damage, and some improve healing, defense, or resource collection.
For most players, I would start by experimenting with general options like Magnet, Smite, and Wind Gust I before moving toward more specialized Books.
Once you understand how your weapon and armor build works, you can start using options like Aerodynamic, Overhead, Cripple, or Resistance to create a more specific setup.
Remember that Books are not simply about choosing the biggest bonus. The best build is usually the one where you can take advantage of the buff without letting the nerf create a major weakness in your gameplay.
