Rolblox TBOD^2 Beginners Guide – Bits, Build cash

Starting out in TBOD^2 can feel pretty simple at first, but there are a few things you should know if you want to build cash quickly and progress without wasting time. Even though you only start with one dropper, there are several ways to make that single dropper much more powerful.

In this post, I’ll go over some of the best beginner tips and tricks for TBOD^2, including how to upgrade your Tycoon, find the Merchant, collect Bits, use Essence, and make the most out of your rebirths. I’ll also cover a few smaller things that are easy to miss while you’re exploring.

The main thing I want you to focus on is building a good progression loop. Upgrade your income, collect Bits, take advantage of the Merchant, rebirth when you’re ready, and then use your permanent bonuses to make the next run faster.

Even though TBOD^2 only gives you one dropper, you should still make upgrading your Tycoon one of your first priorities.

That single dropper is responsible for generating your income, so improving it and purchasing useful upgraders will make everything else easier.

You don’t need to follow one perfect upgrade order when you’re just starting out. Instead, focus on buying improvements that actually increase your income.

The main thing is to avoid letting your cash sit around doing nothing.

Whenever you have enough money for a useful upgrade, consider buying it so your Tycoon can start generating even more cash.

One of the biggest boosts you can work toward as a beginner is Bits.

Each Bit currently gives you around a 10% cash boost.

That means:

• 1 Bit = 10% cash boost

• 5 Bits = 50% cash boost

• 10 Bits = 100% cash boost

Getting 10 Bits effectively doubles your cash boost, which can make a huge difference once you’re earning larger amounts of money.

Because Bits stack, I recommend starting to work toward them early instead of completely ignoring them while upgrading your Tycoon.

Bits mainly come from cards sold by the Merchant, so you shouldn’t spend your entire time sitting inside your base.

The Merchant can appear in different locations around the map, and you’ll need to explore if you want to find him.

Some of the areas worth checking include:

• The beach

• The lighthouse

• The obelisk

• The statue

• Dirt patches

• Other important landmarks and paths

There are multiple possible locations, so I wouldn’t recommend camping one spot and hoping the Merchant appears there.

Instead, make yourself a route between the different areas and keep moving.

The normal Merchant usually appears on even-numbered nights.

So, when an even-numbered night arrives, that’s when I recommend starting your search.

You can continue working on your Tycoon while keeping an eye on the day and night cycle. Once the correct night arrives, head out and check the possible Merchant locations.

A normal Merchant offers five cards, with a chance of offering a sixth.

Since these cards are one of the main ways to build up your Bits, it’s worth having enough cash ready to purchase the ones you want.

If you’re lucky enough to see a Blood Moon, you should definitely take advantage of it.

Blood Moon currently has roughly a 1 in 100 chance of occurring each night.

When it happens, a Merchant is guaranteed to spawn, and the Merchant offers buffed cards with six cards available.

That makes Blood Moon one of the best opportunities for getting more value from the Merchant.

So if you notice the Blood Moon event starting, I would stop whatever you’re doing and start searching for the Merchant.

You may also encounter an Eclipse while playing.

The Eclipse currently has roughly a 1 in 500 chance of occurring.

However, based on the current information, it doesn’t have a special effect yet.

So, unlike Blood Moon, you don’t need to completely change your strategy when an Eclipse appears. It’s still a rare event, but there isn’t currently a specific Merchant benefit that you need to chase.

Here’s a small tip that can save you quite a bit of time while exploring.

Try to stay on dirt paths whenever possible.

Dirt paths increase your movement speed, which is especially useful when you’re running between different Merchant spawn locations.

Instead of taking random routes across the map, use the dirt paths to move between areas quickly.

This becomes even more useful during Merchant hunting because you’re trying to check several locations before the night ends.

Bits are great for boosting your current run, but Essence is your other major long-term progression tool.

Once your Tycoon reaches the required amount for a rebirth, you can head over to the obelisk and perform the rebirth.

You’ll lose part of your current Tycoon progress, but you’ll receive Essence in exchange.

Each Essence currently provides around a 0.4% cash boost.

At first, that may seem small compared with the 10% boost from a Bit. The important difference is that Essence is permanent and continues stacking as you complete more rebirths.

That means every rebirth can make your future Tycoon runs faster.

One thing I see beginners worrying about is having to rebuild their Tycoon after a rebirth.

Yes, you do have to rebuild, but that’s the entire point of the system.

You’re giving up your current progress so you can get a permanent bonus that helps you progress faster in the next run.

So once you’ve reached the rebirth requirement and continuing your current run isn’t giving you much value, don’t be afraid to reset.

The goal isn’t to make one Tycoon run last forever.

The goal is to make each new run faster than the one before it.

The weather can also change while you’re playing.

For example, fog can reduce visibility around the map.

This can make Merchant hunting more annoying because it becomes harder to see landmarks and NPCs from a distance.

If fog appears, just take your time and follow the routes you’ve learned instead of running around randomly.

Knowing the map becomes especially useful when visibility is poor.

While you’re exploring the map, keep an eye out for Billy.

If you touch Billy, you can get a free badge.

There’s no reason to go completely out of your way to search for him if you’re focused on progression, but if you happen to see him while exploring for the Merchant or moving around the map, it’s an easy collectible to grab.

If you want to put everything together, your basic progression loop should look something like this:

Upgrade your dropper → Build cash → Find the Merchant → Collect Bits → Increase your cash boost → Reach the rebirth requirement → Rebirth at the obelisk → Gain Essence → Repeat.

The important part is that Bits and Essence work together.

Bits help make your current run more profitable, while Essence gives you a permanent boost that helps every future run.

So, while you’re working toward your next rebirth, try to collect Merchant cards and build up your Bits.

Then, once you’re ready, rebirth and use your new Essence to make the next cycle even faster.

TBOD^2 becomes much easier once you understand how the different progression systems work together.

Your single dropper might not look very impressive at the beginning, but with the right upgrades, Merchant cards, Bits, and Essence, it can become much more powerful.

For me, the biggest thing to remember is to keep your progression moving. Upgrade your Tycoon, build cash, look for the Merchant when the timing is right, stack Bits, and then rebirth to gain Essence.

Once you start stacking both Bits and Essence, you’ll notice your runs getting faster and faster. That’s when the game’s progression really starts to pick up.
