Something Boss Fights Classes Tier List – Best Classes Guide
Published 29 Aug 2026, 6:22 am · 9 min read
Choosing the right class in Something Boss Fights can make a huge difference, especially when you’re still learning how the boss fights work. Each class has its own stats, abilities, and playstyle, so the best class isn’t always the one with the biggest damage number.
In this Something Boss Fights Classes Tier List, I’ll rank the classes based on their overall usefulness, damage, survivability, mobility, Energy management, and how easy they are to use. I’ll also explain what makes each class good so you can choose something that actually fits the way you like to play.
If you’re a new player, don’t feel like you need to immediately unlock the hardest class to use. The three free starter classes — Knight, Archer, and Gladiator — are already good enough to teach you the basic mechanics. Once you become comfortable with the game, you can start working toward stronger classes such as Thundermauler and Flamesmith.

S Tier
• Thundermauler

A Tier
• Gladiator

• Archer
B Tier
• Knight
This ranking focuses on the classes and information currently available in the provided game data. Later-game classes can become much stronger depending on how well you understand their mechanics and how effectively you use their abilities.
S Tier — Thundermauler
Thundermauler is one of the strongest classes for players who want raw damage and survivability.

It has:
• 160 Health
• 17 Speed
• 22 Energy Cost
• 4 HP Regen
The biggest reason I put Thundermauler in S Tier is its ability to deal huge amounts of damage while also being extremely durable.

It’s described as a tanky class that specializes in raw power and HP. The downside is its slower movement speed, but if you’re comfortable fighting at close range, that trade-off is well worth it.
Thundermauler Skills
Its basic attack swings twice before performing a heavier attack that creates a small shockwave.
Each normal swing deals 90 Damage, while the heavier swing deals 135 Damage and the shockwave deals 80 Damage.
Its LeapSlam has a 6-second cooldown and allows you to rapidly leap in the direction you’re moving before smashing the hammer into the ground.
The attack deals:

• 150 Damage from the smash
• 80 Damage from the shockwave
• Grants an I-frame
That I-frame can be extremely useful when you’re trying to avoid dangerous boss attacks.
Then there’s ThunderSlam, which has a 30-second cooldown.
This attack deals:

1000 + (80 × 3) Damage
That’s an enormous amount of burst damage.
Why Thundermauler Is S Tier
The combination of high HP, strong close-range attacks, mobility through LeapSlam, and massive ThunderSlam damage makes Thundermauler an excellent boss-killing class.
If you want to get close to bosses and completely destroy their health bars, this is one of the classes I’d recommend.
The only real downside is the slower movement speed.

S Tier — Flamesmith
Flamesmith is another S Tier class, but it requires considerably more effort to play effectively.
Its stats are:
• 115 Health
• 19 Speed
• 17 Energy Cost
• 2.5 HP Regen
Flamesmith isn’t simply a character that stands next to a boss and spams attacks.
Instead, the class revolves around building and maintaining Sentries.
This gives it a much higher skill ceiling than the basic starter classes.
FlameCharge Passive
Flamesmith has a FlameCharge gauge above the character.
You build FlameCharge by using your M1 and Z abilities.
The FlameCharge is then used to construct Sentries.
Managing this resource is one of the most important parts of playing Flamesmith.
Flamesmith M1
The M1 attack makes Flamesmith punch three times.
The first two punches deal 30 Damage each, while the third deals 50 Damage.
Each hit also provides Lifesteal and increases FlameCharge by 45.
This means your basic attacks aren’t just there for damage.
They’re also part of your resource-generation system.
AllSeeingFlame
The AllSeeingFlame ability has an 8-second cooldown.
It fires a hitscan shot forward that deals 80 Damage and provides 200 FlameCharge.
It also gives infinite Sentry Range for 8 seconds, making it easier to maintain your Sentry setup.
FireBarrage
FireBarrage has a 20-second cooldown and temporarily improves your Sentries.
Its buffs include:
• Sentry Fire Rate+
• FlameCharge Drain Halted
• M1 Superboost Sentry
This ability is particularly important when you’re trying to maximize your Sentry damage.
FlameSentry
FlameSentry has a 6-second cooldown.
It allows you to punch the ground and create an explosive that summons a Sentry.
You can have up to 11 Sentries active at once.
Each Sentry has:
• 200 Damage summon/death explosion
• 25 Damage per shot
• 3-second Fire Rate
• 400 FlameCharge summon cost
Sentries also have limited range and a deadzone that prevents you from placing them too close together.
They consume 1 FlameCharge every 0.1 seconds, with the drain stacking between multiple Sentries.
Why Flamesmith Is S Tier
The damage potential is extremely high when you properly maintain your Sentries.
The problem is that Flamesmith requires significantly more management than most classes.
You need to build FlameCharge, position Sentries correctly, maintain their uptime, and use your buffs at the right time.
So while I consider it S Tier for experienced players, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it as your first class.
A Tier — Gladiator
Gladiator is one of the three free starter classes and is probably the most defensive option of the starting lineup.
Its stats are:
• 120 Health
• 19 Speed
• 24 Energy Cost
• 2.5 HP Regen
Gladiator’s biggest advantage is its ability to parry attacks.
Gladiator Parry
The F Parry ability has a 4-second cooldown.
It puts you into a blocking stance, and attacks that hit you during the block window are nullified.
Successful parries can also provide:
• Short Speed Buff
• HP Regen
• Energy Regen
However, missing the parry costs 15 Energy, and the ability becomes temporarily disabled.
This means you need to actually learn enemy attack patterns.
If you consistently land your parries, Gladiator becomes extremely difficult to kill.
Gladiator Damage
The M1 attack slashes three times before spinning.
Each slash deals 75 Damage.
Its EnergyStrike has a 15-second cooldown and deals 500 Damage while healing you for 30 Health.
Then there’s PowerSlashes, which fires four red projectiles and one blue energy projectile.
The red projectiles deal 40 Damage each, while the blue projectile deals 200 Damage.
Why Gladiator Is A Tier
Gladiator doesn’t have the ridiculous burst damage of Thundermauler, but its defensive mechanics are excellent.
If you’re willing to learn parry timing, it can be an extremely strong class.
For a free starter class, that’s a very good deal.
A Tier — Archer
Archer is another free starter class and is ideal for players who prefer staying away from the boss.
Its stats are:
• 100 Health
• 19 Speed
• 18 Energy Cost
• 5 HP Regen
Archer sacrifices HP for safer ranged damage.
Archer M1
The basic attack fires an arrow affected by gravity.
Each arrow deals 55 Damage.
On mobile, the attack also has auto-aim.
This makes Archer particularly comfortable for players who don’t want to constantly stand directly next to a boss.
ArrowStorm
ArrowStorm has a 16-second cooldown.
It shoots a green arrow toward your cursor, which then transforms into an area filled with falling arrows.
Each arrow deals 18 Damage.
Mobile players also get auto-aim toward the boss.
This makes ArrowStorm useful for applying area damage while staying at range.
DarkArrows
DarkArrows has a 10-second cooldown.
It creates six dark violet arrows around the player before sending them toward the boss at high speed.
Each arrow deals 45 Damage.
The arrows can also aim and curve toward the boss.
Why Archer Is A Tier
Archer is one of the easiest classes to understand.
You stay at range, attack the boss, and focus on avoiding incoming attacks.
The biggest downside is its 100 Health.
If a boss catches you, Archer can go down much faster than a tankier class.
But if you’re good at positioning and dodging, that weakness becomes much less important.
B Tier — Knight
Knight is one of the free classes available to players.
It has:
• 150 Health
• 21 Speed
• 22 Energy Cost
• 5 HP Regen
Knight is designed as a simple, well-rounded beginner class.
Its stats are actually quite solid, especially the combination of 150 Health, 21 Speed, and 5 HP Regen.
Knight M1
The M1 attack slashes three times.
Each slash deals 80 Damage.
With a 0.2-second cooldown, the basic attack provides reliable close-range damage.
Knight Slash
The KnightSlash ability has an 8-second cooldown.
It makes the Knight spin around with the blade, dealing 400 Damage.
It’s a simple ability, but that’s also the main appeal of Knight.
There’s no complicated resource mechanic or difficult timing system you need to master.
Why Knight Is B Tier
I wouldn’t say Knight is bad.
In fact, it’s probably one of the easiest classes for a completely new player.
The problem is that once you compare it with the more specialized classes, it doesn’t offer the same level of damage, defensive utility, or advanced mechanics.
If you just want to learn the game without worrying about complicated mechanics, though, Knight is still a perfectly reasonable choice.
Best Class for Beginners
If you’re completely new to Something Boss Fights, your choice depends on what you want to learn.
Best Easy Class — Knight
If you want something simple, I’d start with Knight.
Its gameplay is straightforward and doesn’t require you to manage complicated resources.
Best Free Defensive Class — Gladiator
If you want to learn defensive mechanics, choose Gladiator.
Its Parry ability can completely negate incoming attacks when timed correctly.
Best Free Ranged Class — Archer
If you don’t like fighting bosses up close, Archer is the obvious choice.
You can stay at a safer distance while continuously attacking.
Best Raw Damage — Thundermauler
If your goal is simply to hit bosses extremely hard, Thundermauler is my pick.
Its combination of high HP and massive damage makes it one of the strongest classes for direct boss fights.
Best Advanced Class — Flamesmith
If you enjoy complicated mechanics and don’t mind managing resources, Flamesmith is an excellent choice.
Its Sentry system gives it huge potential, but you’ll need to put in more effort to get the most from it.
Free Starter Classes
The game gives players three free starter options:
• Knight
• Archer
• Gladiator
This is actually a pretty good starting selection because the three classes teach completely different playstyles.
Knight teaches basic melee combat.
Archer teaches ranged positioning.
Gladiator teaches defensive timing and parrying.
I’d recommend trying all three if you’re unsure which playstyle you enjoy.
How to Choose Your Class
Don’t choose a class only because it appears higher on the tier list.
Think about what you actually enjoy doing during boss fights.
If you like standing in the middle of the fight and dealing huge damage, pick a melee class.
If you prefer staying away from danger, Archer is much more comfortable.
If you like reacting to attacks and mastering timing, Gladiator can be extremely rewarding.
And if you’re the type of player who enjoys managing complicated systems, Flamesmith gives you plenty to work with.
The Something Boss Fights Classes Tier List has Thundermauler and Flamesmith at the top because of their high damage potential and strong boss-fighting capabilities.
However, that doesn’t mean the free classes are useless.
Knight, Archer, and Gladiator are all good starting points, and each teaches you a different part of the game’s combat system.
For the simplest experience, I’d choose Knight. For ranged combat, go with Archer, while players who enjoy parrying should try Gladiator.
Once you’re ready to unlock stronger classes, Thundermauler is an excellent choice if you want raw power, while Flamesmith is better for players who enjoy a more complicated playstyle based around Sentry management.
Ultimately, the best class is the one you can use effectively. A player who understands their class, knows the boss attack patterns, and uses their abilities at the right time can perform much better than someone simply using a higher-ranked class without understanding its mechanics.
