Storage Hunters Police Raid Update Guide – Collector NPC

The Police Raid update has added quite a few new things to Storage Hunters, including police auctions, new quests, NPCs, exclusive items, and even a bank heist. In this guide, I’ll go over the important parts of the update and share the strategies I found useful while going through the new content.

There is quite a bit to do, especially if you want to complete the Prisoner Mike quest and unlock everything connected to the police update. Some parts are pretty easy, while others require specific items that can take a little time to find.

I’ll walk you through everything step by step, including the new Collector NPC, the Business Bay plot, police-taped auctions, police mutations, the Prisoner Mike quest, the C4 bank heist, Tim’s warehouse orders, and the tournament rewards. I’ll also point out a few things that can save you time while working through the update.

One of the first things added in the Police Raid update is the new Collector NPC.

The Collector can randomly show up at your shop and offer you a task. When you talk to him, he tells you which item he wants you to find. The item can come from pretty much any auction, so you may need to travel around to find it.

Once you find the requested item, you can give it to the Collector for some extra money and diamonds.

The nice thing about this NPC is that he pays 25% above the item’s value, along with a small diamond tip. Most of the time, the tip seems to be around 5 diamonds, although you can sometimes get a much better 20-diamond tip.

If you don’t want to complete the request, you can simply choose the option to give up and leave your shop. The Collector should return later with a different item request.

I think this is a pretty useful addition, especially for newer players who are still trying to build up their cash and diamonds.

Another useful addition is the ability to claim a plot across from Business Bay.

Before this update, getting back to your plot from Business Bay could be a bit annoying. I especially didn’t like flying my UFO all the way toward Farmyard because it could waste some of the time I wanted to get from my energy drinks.

Now, having a plot much closer to Business Bay makes things considerably easier.

To unlock this plot location, you need to talk to the Building Inspector NPC. You’ll find the Building Inspector across from Business Bay.

After talking to him, he’ll give you a quest. Once you complete it, you’ll be able to spawn plots across from Business Bay.

The quest requires two specific items.

The first item you need is the Bulldozer from Farmyard.

The Bulldozer is a Legendary item worth around $12,500.

I didn’t have too much trouble finding mine, but depending on your luck, it could take quite a few auctions.

The best strategy I’d recommend is farming the Barn auctions, which are the 50K auctions at Farmyard. That’s where you’ll have your best chance of finding the Bulldozer.

The second item is the Construction Crane, which comes from Business Bay.

This is a Mythic item worth around $244,000, so it is considerably harder to get than the Bulldozer.

From what I found, you can’t get the Construction Crane from the Tier 1 Business Bay auctions. You’ll need to have access to the higher-tier auctions, meaning you’ll want around $30 million or more in net worth to comfortably complete this part.

The Building Inspector quest itself lists a $17.5 million net worth requirement, but because the Construction Crane isn’t available in the Tier 1 auctions, you’ll need a higher net worth to actually obtain the item.

The update also changed the layout of Business Bay.

Personally, I prefer the older layout. I felt like the previous setup made it easier for multiple players to farm in the area, and there were more auction options available at once.

The new layout isn’t terrible, but I don’t think it’s as convenient as the old one.

Still, this is mostly a personal preference, so I’d be interested to know which layout you prefer.

The biggest part of this update is definitely the new Police-Taped Auctions.

These auctions don’t appear constantly. From what I’ve seen, they spawn roughly every 15 to 20 minutes in the best area you’ve unlocked.

At first, I thought police-taped auctions could appear in every area, but it seems they only spawn in the best zone available to you.

So, if you’re waiting for one to appear, you don’t necessarily need to stand around doing nothing. You can continue farming your best area and eventually a police-taped auction should show up.

Some players use a strategy where they line up around three auctions in Business Bay or another high-level area and wait for the police tape to appear.

The idea is that after around 15 to 20 minutes, the auctions can become police-taped, giving you several higher-tier police auctions to work with.

I personally don’t use this strategy.

I’d rather keep farming auctions normally instead of blocking several of my highest-tier auction slots. That way, I can continue earning money and potentially hit another valuable auction while waiting.

If you have energy drinks available, I’d recommend using them while farming your best zone. This lets you continue building your net worth while waiting for a police-taped auction to spawn.

Once you enter a police-taped auction, you’ll notice two important things: police mutations and police-exclusive items.

Every police-taped auction guarantees at least one police-exclusive item, so these auctions are definitely worth checking.

For example, I found the Police Cone, which is an Uncommon police-exclusive item.

If you’re trying to collect all of the police-exclusive items, you can find them in the Collection Book.

Go into the Exclusive section of the index and scroll all the way to the bottom. You’ll find the Police section there.

Completing the police index also gives you additional luck.

The final reward for completing the entire police-exclusive index is another 10% luck, so there is a good reason to collect these items even if you aren’t specifically interested in their value.

There are also two major police mutations to look out for in these auctions.

The Redacted mutation is the more common of the two.

It gives the item a 1.25x multiplier and appears more frequently in police-taped auctions.

It isn’t the biggest multiplier in the game, but because it shows up more often, you’re likely to see it while farming police auctions.

The Seized mutation is much rarer.

You’ll notice it because the item has yellow police tape wrapped around it.

The big reason you want this mutation is its 15x multiplier.

That’s a huge jump compared with Redacted, and if you get it on an expensive item, you can make a lot of money.

Some players have managed to get items worth around $10 million or even $60 million with the Seized mutation.

Obviously, that’s going to depend heavily on luck, but it shows why police-taped auctions are worth farming.

The other major part of the update is the Prisoner Mike quest.

You can find Prisoner Mike inside the jail at the police station. The police station is located across from the shopping mall.

However, you can’t simply walk up to Mike and start the quest.

First, you need to get yourself arrested by the police.

To do that, steal some police-mutated or police-exclusive items from a police-taped auction.

Once you steal enough items, you’ll start gaining stars.

With one star, you’ll have a smaller number of police chasing you.

At two stars, more police will start coming after you.

At three stars, things get much more chaotic. You’ll have a lot of police chasing you, and a police helicopter can even join the chase.

The number of stars you get depends on how much you’ve stolen.

If your vehicle is fast enough, you can actually escape the police and lose your stars. That’s useful in some situations, but for starting the Prisoner Mike quest, you actually want to get arrested.

Some players have reported that Mike says he doesn’t trust them, preventing them from starting the quest.

Since the update is still relatively new, this may be related to a bug.

One thing you can try is escaping the police at least once and then getting arrested again before talking to Mike.

If that doesn’t work, you may simply have to wait for the developers to fix the issue if it’s a bug affecting your account.

Once Mike gives you his first quest, you’ll need to find one Spoon and one Home Carpet.

These two items come from different areas.

The Spoon can be found at Junkyard.

One strategy I found useful is setting your luck to 0% in the settings before farming for it.

Even with that strategy, the Spoon can sometimes take quite a few auctions to appear, so don’t be surprised if you spend some time at Junkyard.

For the Home Carpet, you need to head to Back Alley.

The item is pretty easy to recognize because it’s half white and half black and has a Home logo on it.

It’s an Uncommon item and is worth roughly $10 to $30.

Interestingly, the Home Carpet doesn’t seem to appear in the Back Alley index yet. Since the item was added with this update, it looks like it may simply have been left out.

You only need to find one Home Carpet for this part of the quest.

After you’ve collected the Spoon and Home Carpet, you need to get arrested again so you can return to Prisoner Mike.

You don’t necessarily need to run another police auction for this.

The strategy I used was to keep police-mutated and police-exclusive items inside my vehicle. Then I switched between different vehicles to trigger the police again.

Once the police started chasing me, I stopped and allowed them to arrest me.

That sent me back to prison, where I could continue the quest and give Mike the items.

After completing the first part, Mike sends you on a digging quest.

This is where you’ll need more Spoons.

Each Spoon gives you around three or four digging attempts. If you miss too many times, the Spoon breaks and can’t be repaired.

Because of that, I recommend collecting several Spoons before starting this part.

If you’re reasonably good at the digging minigame, you may only need around four or five Spoons.

However, if you miss several times, you could easily need seven or more Spoons.

So, once again, you may be spending quite a bit of time at Junkyard collecting them.

After you finish the digging section, you can leave the prison area and find Prisoner Mike nearby.

Talk to him again and he’ll explain the next part of the quest.

After completing this section, Mike gives you 7% luck as a reward.

He then moves to Back Alley, so you’ll need to follow him there.

Once Mike moves to Back Alley, head toward the area where the Black Market NPC is located.

From there, go a little farther until you reach the garage area.

Mike should be facing the wall around there.

Talk to him again and he’ll explain that he wants you to help him blow up the bank vault.

This starts the next major part of the quest: the bank heist.

To complete the bank heist, you need four C4.

C4 is a Rare police-exclusive item, meaning you’ll need to get it from police-taped auctions.

I managed to find C4 during my police auction farming, and each one is worth around $400.

You’ll need four total, so keep checking police-taped auctions until you’ve collected enough.

This is another reason I recommend continuing to farm police auctions while working through the Prisoner Mike quest.

Once you have all four C4 blocks, head to the Town Bank.

The Town Bank is located near the police station, across from the shopping mall.

Enter the bank and look for the Staff Only area.

Inside, you’ll find the bank vault.

Place all four C4 blocks on the vault. Once all four have been placed, you’ll be able to blow it open.

Once the vault is open, you’ll find cash and diamonds inside.

This is where you need to move quickly.

The police will arrive shortly after you blow up the vault, so grab as much of the cash and diamonds as you can and get out.

Once you’re outside, spawn your vehicle and drive away from the area.

Having a fast vehicle makes this much easier because you can create some distance from the police and eventually escape them.

After you’ve lost the police, you can return to your base with the loot.

From what I’ve seen, the bank heist can give you around $300,000 or less, depending on your net worth, along with roughly 90 diamonds.

For newer players, that’s a pretty useful reward.

I hadn’t reached the end of the Prisoner Mike quest when I went through this part, so I’m not completely sure whether Mike gives another reward afterward.

Another addition in the update is the Tim NPC at the warehouse.

If you don’t know where the warehouse is, it’s near the gas station, which is close to the park and shopping mall.

Once you reach the warehouse, talk to Tim and select Show Me the Orders.

This allows you to accept orders for different items.

You’ll then need to find the requested items and deliver them to complete the orders.

The reward includes diamonds, along with some extra cash, making this another useful feature for newer players.

If you’re struggling to build up your diamond balance, I definitely recommend checking Tim’s orders whenever you’re near the warehouse.

The final thing worth mentioning is the tournament rewards.

According to the update information, players who participated in the tournament were supposed to be able to claim their rewards with this update.

However, when I checked, it seemed like the rewards weren’t working properly.

It looks like there may be a bug preventing players from claiming them.

Hopefully, the developers fix this soon and allow everyone who earned the rewards to claim them.

If you want to complete the update efficiently, I wouldn’t recommend stopping everything you’re doing just to focus on one feature.

I’d continue farming your best auction zone normally and use energy drinks when you can. This helps you increase your net worth while also giving police-taped auctions time to spawn.

When a police-taped auction appears, take advantage of it and look for the exclusive police items, mutations, and especially C4 if you’re working on the Prisoner Mike quest.

For the Prisoner Mike quest, make sure you collect enough Spoons because the digging section can require several of them.

I’d also recommend keeping some police-mutated or exclusive items in your vehicles so you can trigger another police chase without necessarily having to wait for another police auction.

Overall, the update is pretty friendly toward early- and mid-game players. The Collector, Tim’s orders, police auctions, and bank heist all give newer players additional ways to earn cash, diamonds, and valuable items.

For late-game players, there may not be quite as much to do once you’ve completed most of the content, but the police mutations and exclusive index are still worth working toward if you’re trying to collect everything.

The update does have a few bugs, particularly around some of the quests and tournament rewards, but there’s still a decent amount of new content to go through.

If you’re just getting started, my biggest recommendation is simple: keep grinding normally, take advantage of police-taped auctions whenever they appear, and work on the Prisoner Mike quest whenever you have the required items. You don’t need to rush everything in one sitting.
