The Veil All Melee Mastery Guide – Location, Unlock

If you are building your character around swords, daggers, greatswords, tridents, and other close-range weapons, unlocking Melee Mastery is an important part of your progression in The Veil. Getting a powerful Legendary weapon alone is not enough, as you also need to complete the Mastery Oath requirements.

In this post, we will explain how to get Melee Mastery in The Veil, where to find Valor, the War Emperor, and what you need to do before unlocking the Oath. We will also go through the 25,000 melee damage requirement.

If you later decide that a melee build is not the right choice for your character, we will also show you how to change your Mastery Oath and where to find the NPC who can help you reset it.

To start working toward the Melee Mastery Oath, we first need to travel to the Coliseum. One of the easiest ways to find the area is by using the Merchant as your starting landmark.

From the Merchant, head toward the gate located in front of the area and go through it. After entering, continue following the path while staying toward the right side.

Keep following this route, and you should eventually arrive at the Coliseum. The path becomes much easier once you know which direction to take, so you should not need to spend too much time exploring the surrounding areas.

When you reach the Coliseum, look for Valor, the War Emperor. He is the NPC responsible for the Melee Mastery Oath, so make sure you find him before trying to begin the progression.

After finding Valor, you need to provide him with a qualifying Legendary Melee Weapon. Fortunately, you are not restricted to using one specific weapon, which gives you several options depending on what you have already obtained.

Some of the weapons that can qualify include:

• Legendary Dagger

• Legendary Sword

• Legendary Greatsword

• Legendary Trident

• Other qualifying Legendary Melee Weapons

Before handing over your weapon, make sure it counts as both Legendary and a melee weapon. Once Valor accepts the weapon, he will give you the next requirement needed to unlock the Melee Mastery Oath.

After giving Valor the required Legendary Melee Weapon, you will receive a quest requiring you to deal a total of 25,000 melee damage.

This is the main grind involved in unlocking the Melee Mastery Oath. We need to keep fighting enemies with melee weapons and continue dealing damage until the total requirement reaches 25,000.

You can make progress by regularly fighting enemies using your melee attacks and abilities. If possible, keep an eye on your progress so you know how much damage is still needed.

Once you successfully reach the full 25,000 melee damage requirement, you will complete the objective needed for the Melee Mastery Oath.

Yes, you can change your Mastery Oath later if you decide that Melee Mastery is no longer the best option for your character. You are not permanently locked into the mastery you choose.

To change your current Mastery Oath, you need to find Kharvos inside the Castle.

Kharvos is located on the second floor toward the back-left area of the Castle. Once you find him, you can use him to reset your current Mastery Oath and switch to a different option.

For example, if we start with Melee Mastery but later decide to build around Magic or another damage type, we can visit Kharvos and change our current choice. This makes experimenting with different character builds much easier as you continue progressing through The Veil.

Getting the Melee Mastery Oath in The Veil requires you to travel to the Coliseum and find Valor, the War Emperor. Bring a qualifying Legendary Melee Weapon, complete the requirement he gives you, and deal a total of 25,000 melee damage.
