The Veil Hybrid Class Guide – How to Get & Change Class
Published 8 Sept 2026, 6:38 am · 8 min read
Classes are a major part of progression in The Veil because they give your character different abilities and can completely change how you approach combat and exploration. The good news is that you are not permanently locked into a single class once you make your first choice.
In this post, we will explain how classes work in The Veil, how to unlock them, what Sin and Offerings are used for, and how you can switch between the classes you already own.
We will also explain the Hybrid Class system, which allows you to combine abilities from different classes and create your own custom build. However, becoming a hybrid also comes with an important trade-off that you should understand before changing your setup.

The Veil Hybrid Class Guide – How to Get & Change Class
Classes give your character access to different abilities, bonuses, and playstyles.
Some classes are designed around direct combat, while others focus more on healing, movement, summoning, poison, or special abilities. This means your class choice can have a major impact on how your character performs.
Two important resources connected to class progression are Sin and Offerings.
Sin is generally connected to the darker or more chaotic side of the game’s progression system, while Offerings are connected to the good side.
Many classes require one of these resources before you can unlock them. Most classes require around 30 Sin or 30 Offerings, although some classes have different requirements.

For example, Crusader is connected to the Offering side, while Gladiator requires Sin.
There are also classes with mixed requirements. Marauder, for example, requires 15 Sin and 15 Offerings.
However, having both requirements does not automatically make a class a Hybrid. The Hybrid system works differently and involves mixing abilities from classes you have already unlocked.
How to Get Classes in The Veil
Before unlocking a class, you will usually need to complete that class’s specific quest.
The difficulty depends on which class you are trying to obtain. Some class quests can be completed relatively quickly, while others require more preparation and specific objectives.

For example, the Marauder quest requires you to reach a location within a certain time limit.
Other classes may require you to defeat enemies, complete objectives, or perform other tasks before the class becomes available.
Once you meet the required Sin or Offering requirement and complete the class quest, you will generally need 1,000 Silver to unlock the class.
Because of this, I recommend keeping at least 1,000 Silver available before starting your class progression. There is nothing worse than finishing a difficult quest and realizing you still need to farm Silver before unlocking the class.
Can You Change Classes in The Veil?
Yes, you can switch between classes that you have already unlocked.

You are not permanently stuck with the first class you choose. Once you unlock multiple classes, you can open the class menu and select another available class whenever you want.
For example, if you have unlocked Crusader and Marauder, you can switch between them depending on the type of build you want to use.
Your abilities will change based on the class you currently select, giving you much more freedom to experiment with different playstyles.
This also means you do not have to choose only one progression path. We can continue unlocking additional classes and switch between them whenever we want to try something different.
How to Become a Hybrid Class
The Hybrid system is different from simply switching from one class to another.

To create a Hybrid build, you need to use an ability from another class while keeping your current class active.
For example, you could be using Crusader as your main class but decide that one of its abilities does not fit your preferred playstyle.
Instead of using that Crusader ability, you can replace it with an ability from another unlocked class, such as Marauder.
Once you start mixing abilities from different classes, your character becomes a Hybrid.
This system gives you the freedom to combine skills from different playstyles and create a build that better matches the way you want to play.
For example, you could keep a useful Crusader healing ability while adding a Marauder mobility skill such as Vanishing Gambit or Flash Step.

Can You Use Multiple Class Abilities?
Yes, the Hybrid system gives you plenty of flexibility when building your character.
You are not necessarily limited to replacing only one ability. Depending on your available ability slots and the classes you have unlocked, you can mix different skills to create a custom setup.
This can lead to some interesting combinations.
For example, you could combine healing abilities from Crusader with more aggressive abilities from another class.
Another build might focus on movement, poison, summoning, or a combination of several different playstyles.

The biggest advantage is that you can choose the abilities you actually enjoy using instead of being forced to use every skill from one specific class.
What Happens to Class Buffs When You Go Hybrid?
There is an important downside to using a Hybrid build.
When you become a Hybrid, you lose the special bonus class buff that normally comes with your main class.
For example, Marauder has movement-related bonuses, while Crusader provides benefits connected to healing and resistance.
Once you begin mixing abilities and create a Hybrid setup, these special class buffs are removed.
This creates an important trade-off.
You gain more freedom to customize your abilities, but you lose the passive bonus provided by your normal class.
Because of this, a Hybrid build is not automatically stronger than a regular single-class build. Sometimes keeping the full class bonus can be more valuable than replacing abilities.
It is worth experimenting with both options to see which setup works better for your character.
All Known Classes in The Veil
There are several classes currently known in The Veil, and each one offers a different theme and playstyle.
Gladiator
Gladiator is a direct combat class designed for players who enjoy fighting enemies head-on.
It features a rage-style ability and works well for players who want a straightforward melee-focused playstyle.
Dusk Bringer
Dusk Bringer is more focused on movement and mobility.
The class has a ninja or shinobi-style identity and includes a grappling hook, giving players another way to move around the map.
If you enjoy fast movement and mobility-based gameplay, Dusk Bringer can be an interesting option.
Hive Disciple
Hive Disciple uses insects and poison as part of its abilities.
Instead of relying entirely on traditional melee attacks, the class can use insect-based skills to pressure enemies and create a different combat experience.
Sky Sentinel
Sky Sentinel is a summoning-focused class connected to the Offering side of progression.
Its abilities revolve around summoning, making it a good option for players who prefer using summoned creatures or abilities rather than relying only on direct attacks.
Crusader
Crusader is a support-focused class with a priest-like theme.
It has abilities that can help heal players, making it useful for players who want to support themselves or teammates during difficult fights.
Florist
Florist has a druid-like playstyle built around nature-themed abilities.
Its identity is very different from the more direct melee classes and can be a good option for players looking for a different type of build.
Marauder
Marauder is focused heavily on speed and movement.
It is designed for players who enjoy moving quickly and using mobility to gain an advantage during combat and exploration.
The class does not focus as heavily on direct damage, making it particularly interesting for players who prefer fast and tricky gameplay.
Cultist
Cultist is another summoning-focused class, but it represents the darker side of The Veil’s progression system.
Unlike Sky Sentinel, which is connected to Offerings, Cultist is associated with the Sin side.
This gives players different options depending on which side of the progression system they want to focus on.
Which Class Should You Choose?
There is no single best class that every player needs to use.
The best choice depends on your preferred playstyle and the type of character you want to build.
If you enjoy supporting teammates and recovering health, Crusader can be a good choice.
Players who prefer direct combat may enjoy Gladiator.
If movement and mobility are more important to you, Marauder and Dusk Bringer are worth considering.
For players who enjoy summoning, Sky Sentinel and Cultist offer different approaches to that playstyle.
The Hybrid system also means that you do not have to commit completely to one type of gameplay forever.
You can unlock several classes, experiment with their abilities, and eventually combine skills to create your own setup.
Tips for Class Progression
If you want to unlock multiple classes, start collecting Sin and Offerings as early as possible.
These resources are important for meeting class requirements, and farming them early can save you time later.
You should also keep enough Silver available. Many class unlocks require 1,000 Silver after you complete the necessary class quest.
I also recommend completing class quests even if you are not planning to immediately use that class.
The more classes you unlock, the more abilities you can potentially use when creating Hybrid builds.
Before starting a class grind, check its requirements carefully. Some quests can take significantly longer than others, so knowing what you need beforehand can help you prepare properly.
The class system in The Veil gives players plenty of freedom to experiment with different builds and playstyles.
You can unlock multiple classes, switch between the ones you own, and eventually mix abilities together to create a Hybrid build.
The biggest thing to remember is that Hybrid builds come with a trade-off. You gain the freedom to combine abilities from different classes, but you lose the special class buff provided by your normal class.
If you enjoy experimenting with builds, it is worth unlocking as many classes as possible. Keep collecting Sin, Offerings, and Silver, complete the required class quests, and test different ability combinations.
With enough classes unlocked, you can experiment until you find the setup that best fits the way you want to play The Veil.
