The Veil Mastery Oath Guide – How to Change Mastery Oath

Mastery Oaths are an important part of character progression in The Veil, especially when you start using Legendary weapons. Simply getting a powerful weapon is not always enough, as you also need to find the correct trainer and complete the required tasks to unlock the appropriate mastery.

In this post, we will explain how Mastery Oaths work in The Veil, including how to unlock the Melee and Magic Mastery Oaths. We will also show you where to find the important NPCs connected to each mastery.

Another useful thing to know is that your first choice is not permanent. If you decide to change your build later, you can reset your current Mastery Oath and try a different option.

You do not have to keep the first Mastery Oath you choose forever. As you progress through The Veil, you may find a different weapon type or build that better suits the way you want to play.

To change your Mastery Oath, you need to find Kharvos inside the Castle. This makes the Castle an important location to remember while exploring the game.

Kharvos can be found on the second floor of the Castle, toward the back-left side. Once you reach him, speak with him to change or reset your current Mastery Oath.

For example, if you originally chose Melee Mastery but later decide that Magic or a Summoner-focused build works better for your character, Kharvos is the NPC you need to visit.

This gives us much more freedom to experiment with different builds instead of worrying about being permanently locked into one choice.

To unlock the Melee Mastery Oath, you need to find Valor, the War Emperor. He is located inside the Coliseum.

One useful starting point for finding the Coliseum is the Merchant. From the Merchant, head toward the nearby gate and continue through it.

After passing through the gate, keep following the right side of the path. Continue along this route until you eventually reach the Coliseum.

Once you arrive, look for Valor and interact with him to begin working toward the Melee Mastery Oath.

Before progressing with the Melee Mastery Oath, you need to provide Valor with a qualifying Legendary Melee Weapon.

There are several different weapon types that can work for this requirement, including:

• Legendary Dagger

• Legendary Sword

• Legendary Greatsword

• Legendary Trident

• Other qualifying Legendary Melee Weapons

Make sure the weapon you bring is a Legendary weapon that qualifies for melee progression. After giving the weapon to Valor, he will provide you with the next requirement.

After handing over the required Legendary Melee Weapon, Valor gives you a quest that requires you to deal 25,000 melee damage.

This is the main requirement for unlocking the Melee Mastery Oath. You need to continue fighting enemies with your melee weapons and abilities until your total damage reaches the required amount.

Keep using your melee attacks while fighting enemies, and eventually you will complete the 25,000 damage objective.

Once the requirement is finished, you can obtain the Melee Mastery Oath and continue building your character around close-range combat.

The Magic Mastery Oath requires us to travel to a completely different location. Instead of visiting the Coliseum, you need to find the Blue Mushroom area.

Reaching this location can initially feel confusing because The Veil has multiple gates and paths. However, once you find the correct route, the journey becomes much easier.

After entering through the correct gate, stay toward the left side and continue following the path. Keep moving through the area until you eventually reach the Blue Mushroom region.

Enemies can appear while you are traveling, so it is a good idea to save your movement abilities when possible.

Once you reach the Blue Mushroom area, look for Thunder. He is the trainer connected to the Magic Mastery Oath.

Thunder is the NPC you need to visit if you are building your character around Legendary Magic weapons and ranged abilities.

After finding him, interact with Thunder and begin the Magic Mastery Oath progression. Follow the requirements connected to the mastery and your Legendary Magic weapon setup.

One advantage of this area is that you can travel there during nighttime without constantly losing sanity. This can make reaching Thunder less frustrating compared with some other areas of The Veil.

The best Mastery Oath depends largely on the type of build you want to create.

Melee Mastery is the better option if you enjoy fighting enemies at close range with weapons such as swords, daggers, greatswords, and tridents. It can also work well when combined with the right classes and accessories.

Magic Mastery is more suitable for players who prefer using Legendary Magic weapons and ranged attacks. Fighting from a distance can give you more room to move during difficult PvE encounters and battles.

Other options, including Summoner-focused progression, can also become part of your build choices. Since you can change your Mastery Oath through Kharvos, you have the freedom to experiment and find the setup that works best for you.

Mastery Oaths are an important system to understand if you want to get the most out of Legendary weapons in The Veil. The Melee route requires you to find Valor in the Coliseum, provide a qualifying Legendary Melee Weapon, and complete 25,000 melee damage.

For Magic builds, you need to travel to the Blue Mushroom area and find Thunder, the trainer connected to Magic Mastery progression.

The good news is that your decision does not have to be permanent. If your build changes later, visit Kharvos on the second floor of the Castle to reset your current Mastery Oath and try something new.
