IBARA Changes Match Flow Completely
IBARA is the newest SECRET rarity style added into the game, and unlike many older styles that mainly increase stats or improve spikes, this one introduces a completely different mechanic built around battlefield control.
The style allows players to summon giant Vine Walls directly onto the volleyball court.
At first, the ability looks simple, but once matches start getting intense, the walls create absolute chaos. Balls bounce in strange directions, spikes get interrupted unexpectedly, and rallies suddenly become much harder to predict.
What surprised me most is how defensive-focused the style feels while still being useful offensively at the same time.
Usually defensive abilities in Volleyball Legends are straightforward, but IBARA turns defense into something aggressive and creative.
Giant Vine Walls
The signature ability of IBARA is the Vine Wall system.
Players can place massive vine barriers on their side of the court that function almost like physical obstacles during rallies. These walls use special Steel Block physics, meaning they can absorb hits instead of instantly disappearing.
Each wall survives two impacts before breaking.
That extra durability makes them much stronger than many players expected because they can interrupt multiple attacks during a single rally.
The game also allows players to place up to three Vine Walls per side, which can make certain matches feel completely insane once the court fills with obstacles.
During longer games, the court honestly starts looking chaotic in the best possible way.
Ricochet Shots Feel Broken Sometimes
One of the most interesting mechanics tied to Vine Walls is how friendly volleyballs interact with them.
Instead of simply stopping attacks, the walls can ricochet allied shots into new angles. Players are already discovering weird around-the-net plays where the ball bounces off vines before curving back toward opponents.
Some shots honestly look unfair because defenders react to the original angle only for the ball to suddenly redirect somewhere else.

The style creates a level of court control that Volleyball Legends honestly has not really seen before.
Some rallies now last much longer because walls constantly interrupt momentum.
Free Style Slot Reward
One of the best quality-of-life additions in Update 71 is the free extra style slot given to all players.
A lot of players were struggling with limited build space before this update, especially people who collect multiple styles for different match types.
The additional slot finally gives players more room to experiment without constantly deleting older setups.
There was a temporary issue affecting players who had already purchased extra slots previously, but the developers confirmed fixes are being worked on.
So if the free slot does not appear instantly, players will likely receive it after the system finishes updating properly.
Beginner Tutorial Feels Surprisingly Helpful
The new beginner tutorial system is another major addition that honestly feels overdue.
Volleyball Legends has become much more complicated over time because newer styles and abilities introduce mechanics that completely overwhelm beginners.
The tutorial now teaches players core gameplay systems through interactive training sessions instead of simply throwing them into public matches immediately.
The new advanced bots are honestly better than I expected too.
They react dynamically during training and simulate actual gameplay situations instead of standing around doing nothing. The developers also mentioned they want to expand this bot technology into additional modes later on.
That could end up helping new players improve much faster than before.

The update also launched alongside another huge 2x Luck event.
