The Summer Fish Fest has brought a full fishing system to Anime Expeditions, giving players another way to earn event currency, collect different fish, and unlock useful rewards. You can fish in several locations across the game, upgrade your fishing rod, increase your Fishing Rank, and spend the Sand Dollars you earn in the Summer Shop.

Anime Expeditions Fishing Guide – All Rods, Fish Locations
You don’t need to purchase a rod before getting started because every player receives the Normal Rod automatically.
To start fishing:
- Equip your fishing rod from your inventory or use the fishing button at the bottom-left of the screen.
- Travel to a body of water in the Lobby or another available map.
- Stand near the water and left-click to cast your line.
- Wait for a fish to bite.
- Once the fishing minigame begins, keep the control block underneath the moving fish.
- Hold your mouse to move the block to the right.
- Release the mouse to move it toward the left.
- Continue following the fish until the progress bar becomes full.
Once the bar is filled, you’ll successfully catch the fish and receive your rewards.
The fishing minigame takes a little practice, but you’ll get used to the movement after a few catches.
All Fishing Rods in Anime Expeditions
There are currently five fishing rods available during the Summer Fish Fest. Each rod has different stats, while some also have unique effects that can make fishing or obtaining rewards easier.
Normal Rod
The Normal Rod is the starting fishing rod and is automatically given to every player.

It’s a good rod for learning the fishing system and catching the easier fish.
Recycling Rod
The Recycling Rod can randomly appear while you’re fishing.

- Passive: After selling 10 items, they are recycled into a random Legendary+ item.

The higher Control and Control Zone make this rod easier to handle compared with the Normal Rod.
Lucky Rod
The Lucky Rod is another random fishing reward.

Auto Rod
The Auto Rod is designed for players who want a more convenient fishing experience.

Unlike the other rods, the Auto Rod removes the normal fishing minigame. However, it gives you random fish instead of letting you manually control each catch.

The Advanced Rod can be purchased from the Summer Shop.

Some fish can be caught with multiple rods, while rarer catches require specific rods.

What Is the Best Fishing Rod?
The best rod depends on what you want to get out of fishing.
For beginners, the Normal Rod is more than enough. Since it’s free, you can immediately start catching fish without spending any resources.
If you’re looking for better rewards, the Lucky Rod is particularly useful because every eighth fish guarantees a Mythic drop. The Recycling Rod can also be valuable if you want to turn repeated items into higher-rarity rewards.
The Advanced Rod is a solid general option if you have enough Sand Dollars, while the Auto Rod is the best choice for convenience once you’ve reached Wave 150 in Tidal Siege.
Fishing Ranks and Passive Bonuses
Fishing also has its own progression system. Every fish you successfully catch gives you Fishing XP, which helps increase your Summer Fish Fest Event Rank.
Higher ranks provide increasingly powerful passive bonuses, making fishing useful even if you’re not trying to collect every fish.

Fishing Rewards
One of the main reasons to fish is to earn Sand Dollars, the currency used during the Summer Fish Fest.
You can spend Sand Dollars in the Summer Shop on various event items, including:
- Trait Crystal
- Stat Lock
- Desert Fruit
- Other Summer Fish Fest items
Fishing also gives you Fishing XP and contributes toward Fishing milestones. These milestones can provide additional rewards such as Equipment Rerolls and Trait Crystals.

If you’re mainly interested in farming Sand Dollars, try to combine fishing with the rest of your Summer Fish Fest activities.
