If you want to become Naruto Uzumaki in Roblox Ninja Time, you can actually get pretty close to the character with the game’s customization and progression systems. In this post, we’ll go through how I created a Naruto-inspired character and unlocked his Toad Sage Mode.
The main part of this process is completing the Toad Sage questline. You’ll need to find the Great Toad Sage Mentor, collect Nature Essences, complete the meditation minigame, craft the required Sage items, and eventually defeat Gamabunta.
I’ll walk you through everything step by step, including how to unlock Toad Sage Awakening Stage 1 and Stage 2, what you need for the quests, and some of the abilities you get once the mode is unlocked.
How to Make Naruto in Roblox Ninja Time
Before starting the Toad Sage questline, I first wanted to make my character look as much like Naruto as possible.
The game’s character customization doesn’t have every hairstyle or clothing option from Naruto, but you can still get surprisingly close. I used a Naruto-style hairstyle and customized the face and head first.
For the clan, Naruto’s clan in Ninja Time is Hero, and thankfully it is an Epic rarity, so it didn’t take me too long to get it from the spins.
For his element, I went with Wind Style, since Naruto is strongly associated with Wind Release. There are quite a few elements available in the game now, so finding Wind Style may take a few spins depending on your luck.
The family is also important. I used the Hero family, which is Legendary. I didn’t get it from my spins immediately, but I already had it available in my bag, so I was able to equip it from there.
You can also use custom clothing in Ninja Time. I went into the Extra Menu > Customs > Clothing and entered the clothing ID. My first attempt gave me an invalid shirt error, but after trying another clothing ID, I managed to get a Naruto-style outfit working.
Once everything was equipped, the character looked much closer to Naruto and was ready for the Toad Sage questline.
Find the Great Toad Sage Mentor
To start working toward Toad Sage Mode, you need to travel to the Toad Sage map.
This is a separate area designed around the Toad Sage progression. When I first entered the map, I had to look around for a while because the location of the mentor isn’t immediately obvious.
Eventually, I found the hidden area containing the Great Toad Sage Mentor.
Talk to the mentor by pressing E. He will explain how Nature Energy works and give you the first quest related to learning Sage Arts.
Collect Nature Essences
The first major requirement is collecting 50 Nature Essences.
The easiest way I found to work toward this is by fighting the Jeriah boss in the Toad Sage area. After finding his spawn, you can repeatedly defeat him for the materials you need.
Jeriah isn’t exactly an easy fight, especially when you’re starting out. He can deal a surprising amount of damage, so don’t just stand in front of him and spam attacks. I had to dodge quite a bit and use my abilities carefully.
The reward can vary, but one of my kills gave me four Chi Essences and one Nature Essence. Because of that, you’ll need to defeat him multiple times before reaching the required amount.
Once you’ve collected enough Nature Essences, return to the quest progression and continue with the mentor.
Complete the Nature Energy Meditation Minigame
After collecting the required Nature Essences, you’ll eventually be sent to the meditation area near the rocks.
This part involves a balancing minigame that lets you control your Nature Energy.
When you start the minigame, you need to follow the movement or balance indicator and build your progress until you reach 500.
At first, it seems pretty simple, but it can take a while to complete. I spent several minutes working toward the 500-point requirement.
Once you reach 500, the meditation will be completed.
You’ll then need to continue the quest by defeating one of the Great Toad-related enemies before returning to the Great Toad Sage Mentor.
Craft the Token of the Sage
After completing the required quest steps, speak with the Great Toad Sage Mentor again.
This unlocks the crafting portion of the Toad Sage progression.
One of the first items you’ll work toward is the Token of the Sage, which represents the wisdom and power associated with the Sage.
You’ll need the required Sage materials to craft it. If you don’t have enough Nature Essences yet, you’ll have to go back and farm more from the boss.
Once you have the required materials, craft the Token of the Sage and continue the progression.
Unlock Sage Awakening
After gathering enough materials and crafting the required items, you’ll eventually receive the Scroll of the Sage.
This allows you to progress toward the first Sage Awakening.
You’ll need additional Nature Essences for the next crafting step, so don’t be surprised if you have to return to the boss and farm again.
After getting the required amount, craft the item to unlock Sage Awakening.
This is where the Toad Sage progression really starts to feel like Naruto’s Sage Mode.
Toad Sage Awakening Stage 1
Once Stage 1 is unlocked, equip it through the Sage Arts or related mode menu.
I activated the awakening using B, and the transformation immediately gave me access to a new set of Sage abilities.
One thing to keep in mind is that the appearance of the mode can look different depending on your character customization. Since I was using a custom Naruto-inspired character, it didn’t perfectly match the original character’s appearance.
Still, the abilities are what really matter.
Stage 1 Abilities
The first awakening gives you several abilities, including:
- Frog Oil Flood
- Sage’s Calling
- Spiral Ball
The moves give you a completely different moveset while the awakening is active. Spiral Ball in particular fits the Naruto theme really well.
Stage 1 is essentially the starting point, though, because there’s another level of Toad Sage progression waiting for you.
Complete the Stage 2 Quest
After unlocking the first awakening, talk to the Great Toad Sage Mentor again to continue the questline.
You’ll receive another set of Sage Arts objectives.
One of the tasks requires you to eliminate 10 of the mentor’s friends. You can repeatedly fight the relevant enemies in the area to work toward these kills.
After completing the elimination requirement, you’ll once again have to complete the balancing meditation minigame.
This time, the meditation needs to be completed twice, so be prepared to spend a little more time on it.
Once you’ve finished those requirements, you’ll be sent toward the final challenge of this part of the questline.
Defeat Gamabunta
The big fight is against Gamabunta, the giant toad.
Gamabunta is absolutely massive compared with your character and has a large health pool, so this isn’t a fight you want to rush into without being prepared.
During my fight, I had to keep moving because his attacks hit hard. His swings can take away a huge amount of health, so dodging and creating some distance between attacks makes the fight much easier.
I used my abilities whenever they were available and activated Toad Sage Awakening when I needed the extra damage.
After a long fight, I managed to defeat Gamabunta.
The victory also awarded 3,000 Mastery experience, which helped push the Sage progression forward.
Unlock Toad Sage Awakening Stage 2
After defeating Gamabunta and completing the previous requirements, head back into the Sage Arts menu.
You should now be able to unlock and equip Toad Sage Awakening Stage 2.
Make sure you actually equip the Stage 2 awakening before trying to activate it. Once equipped, hold B to activate the mode.
This version is much more impressive than Stage 1. The transformation gives you a much larger selection of abilities and feels considerably closer to the powerful Sage Mode fantasy.
Toad Sage Stage 2 Abilities
Stage 2 comes with a much bigger moveset.
Some of the abilities I tested include:
Frog Oil Fireball
This is one of the new attacks available with the second awakening. It gives the moveset a stronger offensive option compared with the first stage.
Frog Oil Flood
The Frog Oil Flood returns from Stage 1, so you’ll still have access to this ability in the upgraded awakening.
Spiral Ball Barrage
Instead of the basic Spiral Ball, Stage 2 gives you Spiral Ball Barrage, allowing you to unleash a stronger version of the attack.
Sage’s Calling
Sage’s Calling is also available in Stage 2. I wasn’t completely sure what the ability was doing during testing, but it’s part of the Stage 2 moveset.
Toad Sword Shockwave
This ability creates a powerful shockwave attack using the Toad Sword.
Massive Spin Gun
The Massive Spin Gun is one of the attacks that stood out to me while testing Stage 2. The animation looks clean and gives the awakening another powerful attack option.
Rapid Toad Slashes
Finally, you have Rapid Toad Slashes, which lets you unleash a series of fast attacks.
The Stage 2 moveset is considerably larger than the first awakening, so there’s a lot more to experiment with once you’ve unlocked it.
Is Toad Sage Mode Worth Getting?
If you’re trying to create a Naruto-style character in Ninja Time, I’d say the Toad Sage progression is definitely worth doing.
The main downside is the amount of farming involved. You’ll need to repeatedly defeat bosses for Nature Essences, complete the meditation minigame, finish the elimination quests, craft several items, and eventually take down Gamabunta.
The meditation minigame can also feel repetitive, especially when you have to complete it multiple times.
However, once you finally unlock Stage 2, you get a much larger selection of abilities and a transformation that fits the Naruto theme extremely well.
For me, the best part was finally activating Stage 2 and seeing all the new moves become available. If you’re already playing Ninja Time and want to build a Naruto-inspired character, this is one progression path I’d definitely recommend trying.
