If you’re playing Grand Blue and wondering which race is actually worth keeping, you’re probably going to come across quite a few different options. Some races are mainly useful in certain situations, while others give you much stronger bonuses for PvE or PvP.
In this post, we’ll rank the races in Grand Blue from the basic Human race all the way up to the rare Celestial Human. I’ll also explain what each race gives you so you can decide whether it’s worth rerolling or keeping your current race.
The tier list puts Celestial Human at the top, while regular Human sits at the bottom. There are also several solid choices in between, including Dwarf, Skyfolk, and the Beast Folk variants.

The main thing to remember is that this ranking is based on the bonuses and usefulness each race can provide in different parts of the game. A lower-tier race can still be useful in a specific situation, but the higher-tier races generally give you more value.
C Tier – Human
Human
Regular Human is the basic race you start with, and unfortunately, it doesn’t offer much compared with the other races.
Since you get Human at the beginning, there’s nothing particularly special about keeping it once you have access to race rerolls. Its lack of strong bonuses is the main reason it sits at C Tier.
If you’re still using the standard Human race, I’d consider rerolling when you have the opportunity.
B Tier Races
The B Tier races aren’t necessarily bad. They just have more situational benefits compared with the races above them.
Longleg Human
Longleg Human can be useful in PvP because of its longer legs.
The extra reach and character size can sometimes allow you to avoid or interact with attacks differently. There are situations where this can help you dodge attacks that another race might struggle with.
However, the advantage isn’t consistent enough for me to put it higher on the list.
Long Armed Human
Long Armed Human gets extra reach, which can be useful when you’re fighting other players or enemies.
Having additional range can make certain attacks easier to land, but it’s still a fairly specific advantage. Compared with the stronger races, the overall benefits are limited.
That’s why I’d keep Long Armed Human around B Tier.
Sea Folk
Sea Folk is mainly useful because of its swimming-related ability.
This can be helpful in situations where you’re spending time around water, but it’s not something you’ll constantly benefit from during normal gameplay.
The damage-related benefit can also be useful, but it’s fairly situational. Because of that, Sea Folk doesn’t compete with the stronger PvP and PvE-focused races.
Half-Fish Human
Half-Fish Human is essentially a better option than the standard Sea Folk race.
It still has the swimming-related benefits, along with a small damage boost that can give you some extra value.
The problem is that the benefits are still quite situational. You’re not going to get the same consistent advantages that you can get from the A and S Tier races.
For that reason, Half-Fish Human stays in B Tier, although I’d choose it over regular Sea Folk if given the choice.
A Tier Races
The A Tier races are where things start getting much more interesting.
Dwarf
Dwarf is a strong race with several useful bonuses.
One of the biggest benefits is its cooldown reduction, which can help increase your overall DPS by allowing you to use skills more frequently.
Dwarf can also help with progression and gives you additional HP, making it a useful choice if you’re looking for a race that provides several practical benefits instead of just one specific bonus.
It’s not quite as strong as the S Tier races, but Dwarf is definitely a race I’d be happy to keep.
Skyfolk
Skyfolk is another strong A Tier option, especially if you’re interested in PvP.
The extra mobility is the main reason it ranks so highly. Having an additional dash gives you more movement options during fights and can make it easier to chase opponents, escape attacks, or reposition yourself.
It’s more situational than the top S Tier races, but that extra mobility can be extremely useful if you spend a lot of time fighting other players.
S Tier Races
The S Tier is where you’ll find the races that provide some of the strongest overall benefits.
Beast Folk Bunny
Beast Folk Bunny is a great option for PvE.
Its bonuses make it particularly useful when you’re fighting enemies and grinding, while it can also become stronger for PvP during nighttime.
So, if you’re someone who spends a lot of time grinding PvE content but also wants a race that can perform well in PvP, Beast Folk Bunny is a strong choice.
Beast Folk Cat
Beast Folk Cat also belongs in S Tier.
Like the other Beast Folk option, it can provide strong benefits for PvE and becomes particularly useful for PvP during the night.
The combination of these bonuses makes it much more appealing than the races that only provide a very specific advantage, such as swimming or extra reach.
If you get Beast Folk Cat from a reroll, I’d definitely think twice before replacing it.
S+ Tier – Celestial Human
Celestial Human
At the very top of the list is Celestial Human.
This is considered the best race in Grand Blue, and it’s also incredibly rare. The chance of getting Celestial Human is only 0.1%, so don’t expect to roll it easily.
The reason it stands above the other races is the amount of power it can provide across both PvE and PvP.
Celestial Human can stack skills and fruits, and it can even fight alongside you, giving you another source of help during combat. Because of how many different advantages it provides, it isn’t limited to just one type of gameplay.
If you somehow manage to roll Celestial Human, I’d strongly recommend keeping it.
Which Race Should You Use in Grand Blue?
If we’re simply looking at the overall ranking, Celestial Human is the best race in Grand Blue.
However, your best race can depend on how you play.
For PvP, Skyfolk is a solid option because of its extra mobility, while the Beast Folk variants can be strong depending on the time and situation.
For PvE and grinding, Beast Folk Bunny and Beast Folk Cat are both excellent choices. Dwarf is also useful thanks to its cooldown reduction, extra HP, and progression benefits.
If you don’t have any of these races yet, I wouldn’t worry too much about having a B Tier race while you’re still progressing. But if you have the chance to reroll and you’re aiming for the strongest possible build, Celestial Human is the race you’re ultimately looking for.
