Runaways Cleaver & Chainsaw Guide – How to Get the Cleaver

Two new weapons have arrived in Runaways, and if you want to add both of them to your arsenal, you’ll need to take on a couple of different tasks. The Cleaver is fairly straightforward to obtain, while the Chainsaw requires you to find a Lumberyard and complete its resource requirement.

The good news is that neither weapon takes anything too complicated once you know where to look. Here’s how to get the Cleaver and Chainsaw in Runaways.

Runaways Cleaver & Chainsaw Guide – How to Get the Cleaver

The Cleaver is dropped by the Chefs found around the map.

Simply locate the Chef enemies and defeat them until the Cleaver drops. The weapon has surprisingly good damage, making it worth picking up even if you’re already comfortable with your current loadout.

The Cleaver can also be useful against stronger enemies. In testing, it was able to deal enough damage to help take down a Bounty Boss, especially when used alongside Breacher.

So, if you’re looking for a new close-range weapon, don’t overlook the Cleaver. You’ll mainly need to spend some time hunting down the Chefs for the drop.

How to Get the Chainsaw

Getting the Chainsaw takes a few more steps.

First, you need to find the Lumberyard. Once you’ve located it, you’ll need to find the key that allows you to access the area.

After finding the key, insert it into the required spot to open the Lumberyard.

You’ll then be asked to provide the materials needed to build the Chainsaw:

  • Metal Sheets
  • Planks

Make sure you bring these materials with you before heading to the Lumberyard. If you don’t have enough, you’ll need to search the area and collect the missing resources.

Once you’ve provided the required Metal Sheets and Planks, the Chainsaw will spawn and you can pick it up.

Chainsaw

Once the Chainsaw spawns, pick it up and equip it from your inventory.

The weapon hits extremely hard and can be very effective when dealing with enemies at close range. After getting it, it’s a good idea to organize your inventory before heading back into combat so you have your healing and other supplies ready.

The video also demonstrates using the Chainsaw while fighting through enemies, and it can make short work of targets when you’re able to stay close to them.

Tips

If you’re planning to collect both weapons, it’s worth preparing your inventory before going out.

Bring the materials required for the Chainsaw ahead of time, especially the Metal Sheets and Planks, so you don’t have to make another trip to the Lumberyard.

For the Cleaver, focus on finding and defeating Chef enemies since that’s where the weapon drops.

The Chainsaw is a little more involved, but once you’ve found the Lumberyard, obtained its key, and brought the required materials, the rest is straightforward.

That’s everything you need to know to get the Cleaver and Chainsaw in Runaways. The Cleaver comes from Chef enemies, while the Chainsaw requires you to find the Lumberyard, use its key, and provide the necessary Metal Sheets and Planks.

Both weapons are worth trying, especially if you’re looking for something with strong close-range damage. Once you’ve collected them, you’ll have two new options to experiment with during your next Runaways run.
