Grand Blue King’s Punch Guide – How to Start the Quest

Want to get the secret King’s Punch skill in Grand Blue? This ability is hidden behind a secret training progression, and unlocking it is going to take quite a few punches. Literally.

The quest starts in the beginner area and eventually asks you to hit a training dummy 1 million times. That sounds ridiculous at first, but there are a couple of ways to make the grind much easier, especially if you have the Flame fruit.

Here’s the full progression, where to start the quest, and the fastest way to farm the required punches.

Grand Blue King’s Punch Guide – How to Start the Quest

To get the King’s Punch skill, first set sail to the Beginner Island.

If you’re currently in Maple Village, head toward the beginner spot and make your way to Anchor Town.

Once you reach Anchor Town, simply go straight from the starting area. You’re looking for an NPC in the Training Grounds.

This is an NPC you may have already seen when you first started playing Grand Blue, but you might not have noticed what he actually does. He gives you a total of five training quests that make up the secret progression for King’s Punch.

There is one small issue: the NPC can sometimes bug out, so you may not always see his exclamation mark or quest indicator.

If that happens, just walk up and talk to him anyway. After interacting with him, a question mark should appear, and you can choose “What are you doing?” to receive the training quest.

Training Quest

The training progression has five parts, and each one requires you to hit the training dummy more times than the previous stage.

The complete sequence is:

  1. Part 1: 100 punches
  2. Part 2: 1,000 punches
  3. Part 3: 10,000 punches
  4. Part 4: 100,000 punches
  5. Part 5: 1,000,000 punches

So yes, the final part really does require 1 million punches.

If you’re already on one of the later stages, you won’t need to start over. The quest simply continues from whichever training number you’ve reached.

Once you complete the full questline, you’ll be able to get the secret King’s Punch ability.

King’s Punch

After finishing all five training quests, you can finally unlock King’s Punch.

The skill can be charged before you release the punch, and it hits extremely hard. The showcase makes it look capable of one-shotting enemies, which is exactly why this secret ability is worth going through the rather ridiculous training requirement.

King’s Punch was also shown during the game’s sneak peek, so if you’ve seen the ability before and wondered how players were getting it, this hidden training progression is the answer.

Fastest Way to Farm

The biggest problem with this quest is obviously the number of punches required.

When you attack the training dummy, you’ll eventually get knocked back by its attack. Because of that, simply leaving your character attacking isn’t easy unless you have a way to avoid the knockback.

This is where Flame becomes useful.

Flame Method

If you have the Flame fruit, its Logia effect allows you to become immune to the training dummy’s punches.

That means you can stay at the training area without constantly getting interrupted by the dummy.

From there, you can use an auto clicker to repeatedly attack the training dummy and let the punches accumulate.

This is the fastest method shown for progressing through the King’s Punch quest. You don’t have to constantly sit there and manually attack, and the lack of knockback makes the process much smoother.

If you already have Flame, this is definitely the method I’d recommend using.

No Flame Method

Don’t have Flame? You can still complete the quest.

You just need to use a different approach because you won’t have the Logia immunity to protect you from the training dummy.

The alternative method uses a recorded input sequence. The basic idea is to record your attacks and blocking so your character can repeat the same actions without needing you to manually control every single punch.

First, find a training dummy and position yourself properly.

Then:

  1. Start recording your inputs.
  2. Perform the punching sequence.
  3. Punch several times.
  4. Hold Block at the appropriate point to avoid getting knocked away.
  5. Stop recording.
  6. Play the recorded sequence repeatedly.

The recording will then repeat the same actions, allowing you to continue training without having Flame.

It is a little slower than the Flame method, but it still works and is especially useful for players who don’t want to get Flame fruit just for this quest.

Auto Clicker

The auto clicker method is particularly useful if you already have Flame.

With Flame’s Logia effect active, you can stand at the training dummy and continuously attack without the interruptions caused by its punches.

If you don’t have Flame, you can’t use the same AFK setup as easily because of the knockback. In that case, the recorded punching-and-blocking method is the better alternative.

So, in short:

  • Have Flame: Use the Logia effect + auto clicker.
  • Don’t have Flame: Use the recorded punch and block sequence.
  • Either way: Keep training until you complete all five stages.

Final Thoughts

The King’s Punch progression is definitely one of the more ridiculous secret quests in Grand Blue, mainly because of that final 1 million punch requirement.

Still, once you know where the NPC is and how the progression works, the process is pretty straightforward. Head to Anchor Town, find the NPC in the Training Grounds, and complete the five training stages:

100 → 1,000 → 10,000 → 100,000 → 1,000,000 punches.

For the fastest grind, Flame fruit is the best option because its Logia effect lets you ignore the training dummy’s punches. Combine that with an auto clicker and you can make steady progress without constantly being knocked back.

If you don’t have Flame, don’t worry. The manual recorded-input method still gives you a way to farm the quest without needing the fruit.

Once you’ve finally survived the million-punch grind, you’ll have the secret King’s Punch skill ready to use.
