Grand Blue Pets & Mounts Guide – How to Unlock Pets

Grand Blue has several pets and mounts that you can collect as you explore the islands. Some come from defeating specific enemies, while others can simply be purchased with Gold. There are also some additional options tied to the Celestial race.

If you want to collect the available pets and mounts quickly, here’s where to find them and what you need to do.

Anchor Town Pet

The first pet you can get is located in Anchor Town, which is the beginner island.

From the starting area, follow the path upward, make a right, and continue until you reach the area where the mini-boss spawns. This enemy is the Blond Goblin.

The Blond Goblin can spawn from time to time, and defeating it gives you a chance to obtain the Sorrow pet.

Once you get Sorrow, you can summon it and have it fight alongside you. The pet can be set to aggressive, allowing it to attack enemies on its own.

One thing to keep in mind is that pets start out fairly small. As you level them up, they will grow larger and become stronger.

Circus Lion Mount

Next, head over to Buggy Island, also known as Clown Town.

This island has both a mount and another pet that you can obtain. The mount comes from the Circus Lion.

You need to defeat the Circus Lion for a chance to obtain its mount. It can take some time to get the drop, so don’t be surprised if you have to defeat the enemy several times.

Once you obtain it, you can equip the Circus Lion and actually ride it.

The mount is useful for traveling, although its movement speed is currently quite slow. So while it technically works as a mount, don’t expect a massive speed increase when riding it.

Small Dog Pet

You can also get another pet in Clown Town without relying on a drop.

Look for the pet shop area near the top of the island. There you can purchase the Small Dog Pet for 10,000 Gold.

This is a good alternative if you’ve been unlucky with pet drops and simply want to add another pet to your collection.

Pet Food

While you’re in the same area, you can also purchase Pet Food.

Pet Food is important because feeding your pets allows them to level up. As their level increases, they become stronger and their size also increases.

So if you want your pet to grow and unlock more abilities, make sure you’re feeding it regularly.

Chicken Pet

The next pet can be obtained by defeating Chickens.

Simply find the chickens around the island and defeat them. There is a chance for one of them to drop the Chicken Pet.

Once you obtain it, you can summon the Chicken just like your other pets.

Celestial Race Mount

There is one additional mount option that depends on your race.

If you have the Celestial race, you can obtain another mount besides the Circus Lion. This option isn’t available to players who aren’t using the Celestial race.

So if you’re trying to collect absolutely everything related to pets and mounts, your race can make a difference.

Check Pet Details

You can check your pets’ information directly through the pet menu.

Select your pet and open Details to see its stats and available skills. Different pets can have completely different abilities, so it’s worth checking their details after obtaining a new one.

The Circus Lion, for example, can have several abilities, including:

  • Triple Swipe
  • Lion’s Bite
  • Lion Charge
  • Lion’s Roar

You need to reach at least Level 75 to unlock all of its abilities.

As your pets level up, they become stronger and can gain access to additional skills.

All Pets & Mounts

For a quick summary, these are the pets and mounts covered in the guide:

  • Sorrow – Defeat the Blond Goblin in Anchor Town.
  • Circus Lion Mount – Defeat the Circus Lion in Clown Town.
  • Small Dog Pet – Purchase it for 10,000 Gold.
  • Chicken Pet – Defeat chickens for a chance to obtain it.
  • Celestial Mount – Available to players with the Celestial race.

The easiest options to grab are the Small Dog and the pets that come from the beginner-area enemies. The Circus Lion takes more effort because you’ll need to repeatedly defeat the mini-boss until the mount drops.

If you’re using the Celestial race, make sure to check its additional mount options as well.

Final Thoughts

That’s everything you need to know about getting the available pets and mounts in Grand Blue. Start in Anchor Town for the Sorrow pet, then head to Clown Town for the Circus Lion, Small Dog, and Chicken.

Don’t forget to level your pets with Pet Food, since higher-level pets can become larger, stronger, and unlock additional skills.

If you’re aiming to complete your collection, the Celestial race is also worth considering because it gives you access to an additional mount option.
